I would like to thank the committee for inviting me to judge this wonderful show. It was a very well run show in conjunction with the championship show which isn't an easy task. Thank you also to my stewards Michele Elliot and Harry Vasey who kept my ring flowing and made sure everything was in the right place. I was absolutely blown away by the entry so thank you to each exhibitor who entered under me and for being very sporting towards my decisions it was a really lovely atmosphere.
Minor Puppy Bitch 2 Entries
What a start to the day two super promising puppies.
1st Stevenson’s Steelriver Isle View Pippet
6 month old super baby of the correct size. Beautifully balanced all through. Pretty head with that cheeky expression. She has a twinkling dark almond eye. She has a moderate length of neck into a good lay of shoulder, straight foreleg of good bone. Good length of rib and a short square loin. Moderate bend of stifle and well let down hocks. Presented in very good coat and condition. When she moved she really came together, showing pure balance in reach and really driving round the ring holding her firm topline. Her confidence is just perfect for a baby. I just loved her attitude. She must have a bright future. Pleased to award her Best Puppy Bitch and Best Puppy in Show.
2nd Walker’s Lizzlog Naughty Nun at Night
Another promising 6 month old puppy. Up to size but again showing balance all through. She had a very pretty head and expression, I'd like a better width of skull. She has an almond shaped eye of good colour. She has a good depth of chest, straight foreleg of good bone and standing on tight feet. Good length of rib, which shows a gradual spring. She is a touch straight in stifle at the moment, but she is still developing. She moved very soundly, just didn’t have the length of stride as the winner today. She was shown in excellent coat and condition.

1st Huyton’s Hightyne Guns and Roses
I judged this bitch recently when she was only 6 months old and my opinion still stands I loved her then and I love her now. 10 months old and she is still so balanced all through. She has a very pretty moulded head with a kind expression, I would prefer a slightly more almond shape to her eye but it is of dark colour. Moderate length of neck, into a well laid shoulder and good upper arm. Her length of rib to loin ratio is perfect. Ample bone and good feet. She has a moderate bend of stifle and well let down hocks, with straight pasterns. Good coat of dense quality. She holds her topline very well on the move, showing good reach and drive. Just pipped by the minor puppy who showed that bit more enthusiasm. Should have a bright future.
2nd Varty-Lindsay’s Levliann She Bangs
11 months up to size balanced bitch. Pretty head with a kind dark eye. I did prefer the expression of 1st. Correct small ears set close. She has a moderate length of neck into a well laid shoulder, her upper arm could be better but she is still developing. She has good bone and good feet. I liked her body length to loin ratio. Firm topline held very well on the move. Excellent hind quarters and well let down hocks. She does carry her tail too high and it does spoil the outline but she moves very well in all directions.
3rd Moxey’s Dymexe My Cherie Armour
Junior Bitch 11 Entries (2 abs)
This was a very difficult class where soundness was an issue for a couple of bitches. I did find some very promising bitches despite this.
1st Walker’s Lizzlog Tittle Tattle
14 month bitch who caught my eye straight away for her complete balance. Lovely head shape of good expression and kind eye of dark colour, it could be slightly more almond shape. Long muzzle with the correct fill in. Moderate length of neck, into a well placed shoulder and even return of upper arm. Good depth of chest, lovely length of rib and short loin, she has a very firm topline, held very well at all times. She has straight forelegs of good bone quality. She has a moderate bend of stifle and well let down hocks. She still needs a little more strength in her rear but it will come with age. She has the correct tailset and carried it very well on the move. She moved on a very even length of stride, showing reach and good drive. Presented in good coat and condition. I will continue to watch this bitch develop on and I can see a bright future for her. Pleased to award her Reserve Best Bitch and Reserve Best in Show.
2nd Lane & Lane-Ridyard’s Kulawand Cartier
15 month balanced bitch of the correct size. She is all feminine just loved her head and expression, she has that twinkling eye, dark and almond. Moderate length of neck into a well laid shoulder and good length of upper arm. Well developed rib, of good length and short loin. Loved her length to height ratio. Moderate bend of stifle and good length of 2nd thigh. Straight pasterns from hock to floor. She’s a very tidy mover coming and going, but in profile her front movement could be tidier as she tends to flick her wrists a little. She covers good ground holding her topline firm. Shown in excellent coat and condition. Another who should have a bright future.
3rd May’s Lussac April Shower
Completed a trio of very promising bitches.
4th Hewison’s Benvellyn Marakele into Casblaidd

1st Orme’s Hurstclough Joy of the Moors at Elmstock
This 22 month bitch immediately took my eye for balance and presence, she screams look at me. Ultra feminine head with a kind dark eye of good shape. Good lay of shoulder and even return of upper arm. Well developed in the body forerib flat with a gradual spring. Her bone is of good quality but her feet could be tighter. She has a short square loin. She has a moderate bend of stifle, well let down hocks and straight pasterns. Very well presented in good coat and condition handled to perfection. Moved very well in all directions. I considered her in the challenge another with a bright future.
2nd Douglas’ Kalexas Upper Class at Greenbayhill (imp Nor)
21 month bitch of super quality, I judged this bitch recently and she is in for a bright future. Love her pretty expression and moulded head I would like a touch more refinement and length to her muzzle. Her character just makes you smile at her. Her eye shape is spot on and a twinkling dark colour. She has a moderate length of neck into one of the best fronts of the day. She has a good depth of chest, good ribbing and a short loin. She has a moderate bend of stifle and well down hocks. Shown in excellent coat and condition. To be fussy I would like a little more length of leg. I preferred the overall shape of 1 today.

1st Holmes’ Rydanah Devils In The Detail
3 &1/2 exuberant bitch who is full of quality. She has a super kind head and expression. She is moderate all through. She is of the correct size, to be picky i’d prefer a little more length to her rib but she has a good depth of chest and a short loin. Straight forelegs but feet could be tighter. She has a moderate bend of stifle, well let down hocks and straight pasterns. She moved really well on an even steady stride holding her excellent topline, shown in excellent coat and condition despite having a litter recently.
2nd Moxy’s Dymexe My Cherie Armour
3rd in puppy. 10 month balanced bitch of correct size. Liked her head and expression but would prefer a tiny bit more stop. She has a good length of neck into well made front angulation. She is a little out at the wrists but she is still young so plenty of time to strengthen. She has good depth to her chest and a good length of rib and short loin. She has a well made rear quarters with moderate bend of stifle. She has the correct slight slope to her croup and tail set correctly and held level on the move. She moved well in profile.

1st Prior’s Blacktoft Avelino
2 year old very balanced bitch who caught my eye for her overall shape. She has a beautiful one piece head, nicely moulded and dark almond eyes. She has a moderate length of neck into well placed shoulders and a good return of upper arm. She has straight forelegs of good quality bone and tight feet. She has a good length of rib which is gradually sprung and a short loin. She has a well made rear which she used to drive around the ring. When she settled she moved very well at one with her handler. I will follow their progress as they have come such a way and will continue to grow together.
2nd Jackson’s Manteauplat Margaux
I judged this 2 year old bitch as a puppy and she showed a lot of promise and she is now growing into that promise. She has a nice head shape but I would prefer a flatter skull. Moderate length of neck into reasonably placed shoulders. She has very good feet. She has a good depth of chest and and short loin. She has a moderate bend of stifle and correct length of 2nd thigh her rear pasterns are straight. She has a slight slope to her croup and correct tail set carried well on the move. She has plenty of time to continue to mature but she moved very soundly.

Another tricky class all of different types and front construction was a problem.
1st Chambers’ Hototo Pretty Ballerina JW
Stand out winner she present a beautiful outline and is of the correct size. 2 1/2 years old she has the most beautiful moulded head with that twinkling expression. She has a good lay of shoulder and even return of upper arm. Her foreleg is straight but feet could be a little tighter. She has a good length of body and short loin. Love her rear quarters, her stifle is moderately turned and of the correct length. Her tail set is correct and carried well on the move and it never stopped wagging. She held her level topline while driving round the ring. Shown in excellent coat and condition.
2nd Sullivan’s Wyrebeck Live Forever
A lovely sized bitch who is just so full of herself she demands attention. She has a lovely head would prefer her eye colour a shade darker. She has the right height to length ratio. Her forelegs are straight and her feet are perfect. She has a very well made rear well let down hocks and straight pasterns. On the move when she settled and got herself together she moved very soundly with good drive, holding her topline firm and her tail carried straight. Shown in good coat. She just needs to mature to complete the picture and I just preferred the length of stride of 1 today.

1st Rees’ Braemist New Moon at Eskwinds
This bitch is very easy to look over as she doesn’t scream for your attention but she present such a beautiful outline. 3 years old and totally unexaggerated. Feminine moulded head with the most kind expression and dark twinkling eye. She has a moderate lay of shoulder and even return of upper arm. Ample bone and good feet. Her forerib is flat and then a gradual spring tapering to short loin. Excellent hindquarters which she used to really drive. Not in her best coat today but she moved so soundly in all directions holding her firm topline, once she settled as she tends to pull away from her handler but he got the best out of her today.
2nd Milton’s Manteauplat Black Pippin
Another I judged 2 years ago and loved her then, she is a very well made bitch of 5 years. Feminine well moulded head but would prefer a flatter skull. She has excellent front assembly one of the best. She has straight forelegs, plenty of bone and super feet. She has a good depth of chest and ribs gradually sprung of the correct length and short loin. She has a moderate bend of stifle and well let down hocks. Moved very well with an even steady stride holding her topline well and carrying her tail level. Just preferred the raciness of 1.

Wow a class full of my favourites made a really tricky decision.
1st Romeo-Dieste’s Hopevalley Morning Wicked
It is no secret I absolutely love this bitch i’ve judged her a couple of times in the past and she just keeps getting better. At only 3 &1/2 years old she is just where she should be for her age and still got so much to come. Her outline is just super flowing from her nose to her ever wagging tail. She has a one piece well moulded head and lovely expression. She has a moderate length of neck into a well laid shoulder. She has ample bone standing on tight feet. She has a good depth of chest and perfect height to length ratio. She has a good length of rib and short loin. Her croup slopes slightly into her well set tail. Her rear angulation is spot on, her width to her thigh is correct, she has well let down hocks which are straight from hock to floor. Although not in her best jacket today she moved so well on a steady even stride and just fills my eye and the relationship between her and her owner is just perfect. So pleased to award her Best Bitch and Best in Show.
2nd Matthew’s Gemswin She’s Got The Look
Another bitch who I really loved and is really lovely to go over. 4 years feminine head with that naughty expression we all know and love. I would prefer a darker eye. Moderate length of neck into well placed shoulders and even return of upper arm. She has straight forelegs but her feet could be tighter. She has a good depth of chest, flat forerib and gradual spring leading to a short loin. She has a moderate bend of stifle, good width to her rear, well let down hocks and straight pasterns. She moved very tidily coming and going and moved showing even reach and drive on a steady stride in profile. Shown in perfect coat and condition. He has a good depth of chest, gradual spring of rib and a short loin. He has a moderate bend of stifle, good width to thigh and straight enough pasterns. He moved very soundly in all directions, he could be a touch tidier coming towards but on the profile he moved with drive holding his topline and tail correctly. 7 year old substantial male that I judge not long ago. He is so balanced from his masculine head which is well moulded to his ever wagging tail. He has an excellent lay of shoulder and even return of upper arm, deep chest, well ribbed and short loin. His forelegs are straight, of good bone and excellent feet. His hindquarters are moderately bent and stifle of the right length and a good width to his thigh. He has well let down hocks and straight pasterns. He was handled to perfection and when he moved he was tidy in all directions really covering the ground using his powerful rear. When it came to the challenge I just preferred the elegance of the younger males today but he was close up. Pleased to award Best Veteran in Show over the beautiful bitch.

1st Varty-Lindsay’s Levliann Waited For You
Up to size male of a lovely dark liver, loved his kind head and aloof expression. He has an excellent lay of shoulder and even return of upper arm. He has good depth all through and has good body proportions. He has straight forelegs of good bone and tight feet. He is very well made in the rear with the correct length and width of thighs. He has well let down hocks and straight pasterns. He unfortunately tends to fall into his shoulders and drop his topline when being free stood, which can spoil the outline, but he maintained it well on the move. He moved absolutely full of himself with power and drive. Pleased to award him Best Liver in Show.
2nd Shepherdson’s Murphys Treat
A balanced boy all finer through than 1. He has a kind head and good expression. He has a moderate length of neck, good upper arm not quite the lay of shoulder. He has good depth all through, good length of rib into a short loin. Reasonably angulated rear quarters, he has a good length of stifle and well let down hocks. He has excellent feet. Shown in good coat and condition, would prefer a darker liver coat. He moved very soundly holding his topline well, he does slope a tad too much at the croup, just preferred the overall shape and movement of 1.

Up to size workmanlike male. He has an ok head, its a tad heavy for me, but has a good expression and kind dark eye. Not quite the front angulation of the winner but he has straight forelegs of good bone. He has a good length of gradually sprung ribs into a short loin. His hindquarters are so well made, moderate bend of stifle and well let down hocks. He was shown in hard condition which is to be expected from a working class. Good quality coat and good furnishings. He moved soundly in all directions. Preferred the balance of 1 today.
