Isle of Wight Canine Association Open Show Saturday 18th May 2024 Judge – Miss A S K Henshaw (Peteshe) My thanks to the committee for an enjoyable day, and to my steward for her hard work in keeping things going. The quality of exhibits was amongst the older generation, which is a little concerning for the future. I would like to thank the exhibitors for their entry. GSP Puppy 1st Bunker, Mr S R – Mistcapel Blowin The Breeze Masculine head, well angulated front, and rear, correct topline. Moved well, looked handsome in profile – and ‘typical’ of the old standard. presenting a balanced outline, head clean-cut with dark eye colour. Short backed, well off for bone, standing on good feet. Moved out well keeping his topline. One to watch for the future. BOB, BP, Grp 3 & PGrp1&BPIS Pointer Open 1st Drake, Mrs J – Fleurfield Moonflower with Clamerkin Super head, eye and skull, good mouth, and ears, nice lay of shoulder, straight front. Good body and nicely made hind quarters. Moved well covering ground. BOB Curly Coated Retriever Post Graduate 1st Miller & Millichamp, Mr P & Ms B – Foxriever Solent Solstice at Wightcurls Wedge shaped head, dark eye. Deep chest, good forechest, body long and muscular, strong topline. Tight feet. Correct coat of lovely tight curls. Open 1st Miller & Millichamp, Mr P & Ms B Foxriever Solent Sensation at Wightcurls Larger in stature and heavier than my winner. Pleasing head with strong neck. Albeit a little brief in upper arm. Chest of good depth. Well sprung ribcage. Strong hindquarters. Strong movement. BOB Flatcoated Retriever Open 1st Slade, Mrs S E – Hightyne Fly Me To The Moon A handsome boy, his classic head caught my eye, housing lovely dark eyes. Nice lay of shoulder. A nice dog in profile, with everything the standard deems. Moved well. BOB Golden Retriever Post Graduate 1st Wainwright, Mrs E M – Goldenmajko Make Believe A short coupled and very well-balanced specimen; lovely broad skull and turn of stifle; moved soundly. Very attractive. RBOB 2nd Tribbeck, Miss C – Tribbssons Dancing Lady A pretty lady, who overall, in profile portrays a nice shape – good spring of rib, moved well. Unlucky to meet winner today, could easily swap places. Open 1st Stables, Mrs S – Kalindra French Connexion Avec Roshinru Nothing overdone here – mature male, who really does not look his age! Eloquently balanced, strong hocks and a lovely golden coat. Nice level topline too. BOB NSDTR Post Graduate 1st Andrews Mr K &Mrs J - Asterlily Black Velvet for Aftomarsh Well-proportioned bitch, portraying an intelligent appearance, lovely head, and deep chest. wedge shaped head, strong neck, well laid shoulders, excellent depth of chest. BOB & Grp4 2nd Robinson, Miss L J – Weyfrome The Clock Winder Difficult decision here – a lovely looking specimen who was good to go over, balanced throughout and moved well. Cocker Spaniel Puppy 1st Blackley & Salero, Ms C & Mr I – Wightroche Calla Lilly Black bitch, the sweetest of expressions, super angulation and in good condition too! Shown to perfection, nice shape to her head. A promising career ahead. BP 2ndBlackley & Salero, Ms C & Mr I Wightroche Stargazer Litter sister to winner, who could have easily swapped places on a different day, excellently presented, like her sister, another nice head & shape. A little more immature than her sister, but this will come in time. Post Graduate Absent Limit 1st Blackley & Salero, Ms C & Mr I – Wightroche The Bee JW Another black bitch- 3-year-old, really attractive in outline- lovely expression too. Moved soundly and with drive; nice lay of shoulder and correct topline BOB. Open 1st Blackley & Salero, Ms C & Mr I -Cooleela Operation Dynamo Wightroche A very smart man of 6. Well balanced throughout and not showing his age at all. Very handsome in head; with a gentle expression – pleasant depth of foreface. RBOB English Springer Spaniel Open 1st Hydon, Mrs M.- Clentonian Pandemonium JW ShCEx OSW Very feminine, with a typical outline – immediately took my eye upon entering the ring – well balanced throughout, gentle expression. Everything you would want in a dog. Moving effortlessly; holding her topline well BOB, Grp 2 AVNSC Gundog Puppy 1st Clamerkin Painted Lady (Lagotto) Eight-month-old bitch, lots to like – compact and pleasant head; well proportioned. BP & PGrp3 Junior 1st Tribbeck Miss C- Braccorions Zigga Zig Arh (Bracco) Immediately caught my eye upon entering the ring, exquisitely feminine in head, lovely lean cheeks, and chiselling. Deep chest. Well ribbed back. Strong hind quarters. Good bone and feet. Moved well- overall a lovely profile. BOB Grp1 2nd Clamerkin Tawny Emperor (Lagotto) Litter mate to puppy, very handsome. Nicely made and put together. Overall, lots to like. And as he matures, I am sure he will be one to watch. Post Graduate 1st Hunnybun, Mr R &Mrs H- Riverbrue Imperial Spritz (Irish Setter) Feminine, with a nice head and expression, good bone, front and feet, moved well. Looked lovely in profile. 2nd Cole, Mrs H J – Burning Desire Bloom For You (American Cocker) Lovely head with smart expression. Well angulated throughout. Moved soundly and good reach of neck. Open 1st Cotton, Mrs LE – Braccorions Quick To Judge (Bracco) Caught my eye upon entering the ring – well proportioned and balanced throughout. In beautiful condition and a lovely depth of chest. A quality dog. BOB, Grp 1 2nd Brookes & White Miss CE & Mrs J A – Lunarpet Ruperts Latest Gem Nicely made chocolate dog, good broad skull, and kind expression. Lovely shape, moved with attitude, oozes breed type. Another pristinely presented dog, portraying all the attributes of the breed. BPIS GSP Bunker, Mr S R – Mistcapel Blowin The Breeze See before. RBPIS Papillon Quinn, Mrs R – Amber Beauty Xany Nicely presented, and another hard decision! Could have easily switched places, both cracking examples of their respective breeds. Very pretty head: lovely shape and well angulated, lots to like. BVIS Irish Terrier Nolcini, Miss C – Holbam Celtic Kate ShCm VW An easy choice here- caught my eye upon entering the ring, lovely shape and well-placed shoulders. Pretty head, housing correct eye, moved exceptionally well. A beautiful outline. YKC Handling 6-11yrs 1st – Luke Saunders Had a challenging dog to handle but made good work of it. tidy patterns and well presented. 12 -17yrs 1st Lisa Rose Saunders Smart handler answered questions confidently and completed patterns well. Adult Handling 25 -45yrs 1st Cally Saunders Handling a lively Dalmation, completed all pattern work well. 46- 59yrs 1st Latha Parvataneni Smart and well presented, completed all pattern work neatly. Her dog was presented exceptionally. Best overall adult handler. 60yrs + 1st Barbara Adsett Completed pattern work promptly. Showed her dog well.
