Thank you to the officers and committee for the invitation to judge. I would like to thank my stewards on the day and the exhibitors for their entries and for being so sporting.

Class 363 PD (4 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: SATHERLEY, Mrs Cheryl & SATHERLEY, Mr Christopher Silkcroft Perfect Symmetry (a.i.) His head is of good proportions with an excellent bite. This 8-month-old male presented a correct outline with level topline, excellent tail set and carriage. Standing four square, his angulations are good fore and aft, and he is short coupled. He has plenty of coat for his age and is very sound. He was well presented and handled. BP and later went on to Puppy Group 3.

2nd: STEVENS, Mrs Kate Ashley & STEVENS, Mr David & STE Croffty Softy Bee Brave. This six-month-old puppy is the correct shape. His head has good proportions, but his ears were not to his advantage. He has a good ribcage and is short coupled. He holds a level topline and has a good tail set. He moved well and was presented and handled well.

3rd: JOHNSTONE, Mr & Mrs R Rouxboos Patriotic Spirit (a.i.)

Class 364 JD (2 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: JOHNSTONE, Mr & Mrs R Rouxboos Patriotic Spirit (a.i.) This male is just 6 months old, with good topline and ample bone. Acceptable angulations, with level topline both stacked and on the move. Placing of fore legs needs to be watched and would prefer a shade more body throughout. Moved well in profile and he was well presented and handled.

Class 365 PGD (3 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: HARRIES, Mrs Margaret Manawyddan Beautiful Noise. This 2-and-a-half-year-old male is an upstanding dog with head of good proportions, excellent bite and good ear set and carriage. He has a lovely topline, good length of neck and is well coupled with acceptable angulations. I would prefer a little more bend to his stifle. He has a good tail set. He has a good coat with good colour, and this should improve with age. He moves well in profile but could do with a little more drive behind. Well presented.

2nd: AMEL-AZIZPOUR, Mrs Jane Crofftysofty Hay Jude. This 19-month-old male presents a square outline, and his head is of good proportions. He holds a good topline and is short coupled. A little more lay of shoulder and more neck would be to his advantage. He has a good bend of stifle, and he moved well in profile but would like a little more drive behind. He is paler in colour. He was well presented.

3rd: LINES-BARRETT, Mrs Shirley & BARRETT, MR PAUL Abiqua Wild In My Blue Jeans

Class 366 LD (4 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: HANNA, Mrs B R & WALSH, Mr A Teaghlach Angel Kinaelan (imp Esp)

This 21-month-old male is very typical and scored on so many levels. His head proportions are well balanced with excellent ear set and carriage and that large black nose all of which contributed to having one of the best head and expressions on the day. He stands four square with good angulations and has a level topline. He is well sprung in ribcage and is short coupled. He has an excellent tail set and carriage. He is not exaggerated in any way. He moved soundly in all aspects. He is still young, and he, and his coat need time to mature. His coat is of a good quality and colour. He was presented and handled well. Res CC and I look forward to following this boy with interest.

2nd: BALCHIN, Mrs V & Mr A Bridestones Red Cinnabar. This four-year-old boy was another lovely type with some lovely qualities. His head was well proportioned with nice size ears not set exactly as I would like. He has that large nose. He has a good ribcage and is short coupled with good angulation fore and aft. He has an excellent tail set. He moves well but has a tendency every so often to sink into himself in front which spoiled his topline. He has an excellent coat colour and texture. He was well presented and handled.

3rd: BROOKS, Mr Anthony Loofahsa King Of The Pippins (ai)

Class 367 OD (6 Entries) Abs: 1

This was a lovely class of quality males with many qualities that I liked.

1st: CHARLETON, Mrs J Ch House Of Softy Indus (imp Swe) Shcex

This five-year-old male took my eye when he entered the ring giving the impression of strength and going over him did not disappoint. He presents a balanced and unexaggerated outline with a well portioned head, excellent bite, nice eye and that large nose which just finishes off that desired expression. He has the correct length of neck and holds a good topline both stacked and on the move. He has a well sprung ribcage and is well coupled with good angulations fore and aft. In my notes I wrote “as sound as a pound” and that is exactly what he was on the day, sound in all aspects. He has an excellent coat colour and texture with the maturity that comes with his age. He was well presented and handled, and I had no hesitation in awarding him the CC and later pipping his daughter to BOB.

2nd: HOOKWAY, Ms Elena Denzilly Golden Compass. This five-year-old male had a well-proportioned head with good bite. He stood four square and had a well sprung rib cage and was well coupled. His angulations were good fore and aft and he held his topline both stacked and on the move. He moved soundly in all aspects which scored heavily on the day. His tail carriage is not to his advantage. He has a good coat and was well presented and handled.

3rd: CLARKE, Mrs P & Mr J Flaxela Illuminati (ai) JW

Class 368 GCD (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: GRIMES-WATSON, Mrs Joanne & WATSON, Mr Gavin Janeyjimjams Jem Devlin. This six-year-old is masculine with good head proportions, would just prefer the topline of the muzzle a little straighter. His angulations are good, with good length of neck. He holds a good topline both stacked and, on the move, and has a well sprung rib cage, which is well ribbed back. He has a good tail set, and he moves well in profile. His front action could be a shade tidier. He is a good colour. Well presented and handled.

Class 369 SBD (2 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: AMEL-AZIZPOUR, Mrs Jane Crofftysofty Hay Jude (See PGD critique)

2nd:LINES-BARRETT, Mrs Shirley & BARRETT, MR PAUL Abiqua Wild In My Blue Jeans . This 19-month-old presents a good outline. Masculine with balanced head proportions, with good bone. I would prefer a little more body overall for his age. He moved well and was well presented and handled.

Class 370 VD/B (8 Entries) Abs: 5

1st: GLEESON, Mrs Ellen & GLEESON, Mr Gary Glendowan Golden Brandy. This 7-year-old bitch was a delight, so correct in type although her ears are not to her advantage, she has an excellent shape, well balanced and unexaggerated in outline. She has a lovely topline both stacked and on the move with good angulations fore and aft. She moved so well in profile and in front, but a little close behind. She has a lovely coat texture and colour and was well presented and handled. Best Veteran. On a personal note, it was only 3 weeks after judging that I had the opportunity to sit down and look at the catalogue in detail. When I saw the prefix. it was a moment of reflection for me as I knew the breeder Margaret House for over 30 years. When we were fortunate enough to meet, we would have a chat about the breed, judging and old acquaintances. I was sorry to hear of her recent passing.

2nd: LUI, Mrs Laura Norkett Thistlebe Them There Eyes At Eblanahalls Sh.CM ShC. This 11-year-old female is another lovely type, with head of good proportions. She held a good topline both stacked and, on the move, with a well sprung ribcage and well ribbed back. She has good angulations, and she moves well in profile. She was well presented and handled.

3rd: LUI, Mrs Laura Norkett Eblanahalls Honeytrap JW

Class 371 PB (5 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: SATHERLEY, Mrs Cheryl & SATHERLEY, Mr Christopher Silkcroft Crystal Ball (a.i.) This 8-month-old female presented a lovely outline and is feminine with a head of good proportions and excellent bite. She has good angulations fore and aft, well sprung ribcage and is short coupled. She has excellent musculature behind and moved soundly in all aspects. She has plenty of coat for her age and of a good colour. BPB and later pipped for BP by her litter brother.

2nd: SATHERLEY, Mrs Cheryl & SATHERLEY, Mr Christopher Silkcroft Is It Any Wonder (a.i.) In my notes I wrote very similar to 1 and I can see that she is a litter sister to 1. The same notes apply except she is not as tidy in front action as her sister and not quite as developed in hindquarters. She is well presented and handled.

3rd: 863 FALLON, Mrs Alison Crofftysofty Bee Yonce

Class 372 JB (3 Entries) Abs: 2

1st: GRIMES-WATSON, Mrs Joanne & WATSON, Mr Gavin Keevasdream Purple Bliss For Spudler. This 14-month-old who has a well-proportioned head, neat ears. She stood four square and has a good topline both stacked and, on the move, with well sprung rib cage well ribbed back. Her tail set is good, but I would prefer a better carriage. She moved well but would prefer her moved at a steadier pace and not as hurried. She was well presented.
