The British Chihuahua Club 75th Year Diamond Anniversary

Championship Show – 17th November 2024

Thanks to the Officers and Committee for the honour of judging Best In Show at this, the 75th Diamond Anniversary Show of The British Chihuahua Club. The event was nothing short of spectacular, and it was evident that a great deal of thought, planning, and passion went into making it such a memorable experience (especially the fabulous birthday cake!).

This special show provided such a wonderful opportunity for Chihuahua lovers to come together and celebrate a shared passion. Thanks to the family of the late Graham Foote who were so generous in their sponsorship of the major awards. Graham was a past Chairman of the Club and totally dedicated to the breed. His famous Ballybrooke affix is renowned worldwide and fitting he was particularly remembered on this day.

Best In Show

Hunt’s Ch Diamonchi Button Moon for Moltobello. 6 years. Smooth coat. A dog I have judged before awarding him the CC and BOB and then witnessing him taking Group 3 under Tim Ball. He is an extrovert and confident showman, text book head with balanced muzzle, appealing dark round eyes, and alert ears to finish. Neck is well placed over well laid shoulders. Good for ribs and brisket. Tail is set spot on. Confident brisk forceful action from strong rear drive and a purposeful forehand. He was on great form.

Reserve Best In Show

Ch Hicks’s Chiquita De Oro Blans At Casiatodo (Imp Hun). 4 years. B/T. Another dog I have judged before but felt that today he really moved up a gear and could not be denied this award. I admired his style. He is of a lovely size and well proportioned. Quality, masculine head which is beautifully balanced and mouth containing excellent dentition. Correct finish to muzzle. Flaring ears used to advantage, dark, round, large eyes. Body is well ribbed. Tail well set and of correct shape. Coat was beautifully presented. His deportment eye-catching and footfall light, determined and accurate.

Entwistle’s Textututango, Long Coat Cream Bitch. 10 months. She is so feminine. Loved her overall size and proportions. Her head is worth close inspection as it is beautifully balanced and contains dark expressive eyes. Correct, moderate length of neck, neat front assembly. Well ribbed. She moved freely and with confidence, maintaining a secure topline. In super textured coat and condition.

Correct neck into well placed shoulders. Well bodied. Secure level topline; good tail set and carriage. On the move she is impressive and makes it look so easy.
