Pointers

What an absolute pleasure to judge a wonderful , quality entry of pointers, at the Setter and Pointer special anniversary show. Many thanks to the Secretary and committee for the invitation and to the exhibitors for bringing their dogs , it was an exceptionally cold day and I did feel sorry for some of the bitches , they looked freezing and not happy in the cold hall . I had to judge what I saw on the day but I am sure some would have been happier on a warmer day and would have shown themselves to better advantage.

Class Puppy (13, 2 )

What a start to my day , super class with quality all through

1st Gerrard , Bell & Galloway , Riowood C’mon It’s Time For Carmandine B/ W bitch , what a star! as I watched her enter the ring I was quite taken by her , only 10 months but very balanced and very sure of herself on the move , lovely typey head with slight dished appearance kind expression with a twinkle of naughtiness in her eyes , lovely curvy outline , brisket well let down , good width to second thigh and on the move , so very precise for one so young, covering the ground easily , carrying and using her bee sting tail correctly. She stood out to win this quality class & BPIB . It was my pleasure to watch her take BPIS under Mrs Christine Morgan amongst some other super puppies.

2nd Swannell , Sharnphilly Black Abbott, male puppy , another quality dog who is rather at the legs and wing stage, lovely balanced head with kindly expression, good length of neck sitting cleanly into shoulders . Chest just wide enough for heart room and brisket well let down , shoulders long and well placed , as the standard demands his outline was a series of curves . He has the best of feet . On the move he was at times a little naughty and uncoordinated but I saw enough to see his promise. I think he should have a promising future.

3rd Saunders & Newton , Teisgol Calendula.

Class Junior (12, 4)

1st Wilcox , Harvestslade Fire And Ice Through Merynjen , 13 months , very balanced upstanding O\W dog , handsome head , slight dish to muzzle , long elegant neck , fitting cleanly into well laid , long shoulders his body is well developed for his age , with a deep brisket and good width to 2nd thigh ,shown in super muscular condition. He won the class with his positive sound, stylish movement , he held his topline well and used his tail correctly . Very much liked him.

2nd Millpoint Watson , not as mature as 1st , super head , dark eye ,lovely big nose with wide nostrils , fine well set ears , kind expression . The best of fronts , long well placed shoulders , forelegs straight correct oval bone. Chest not too wide , good spring to ribs and curvy rear quarters , moved true and with drive . One for the future.

3rd Marsh , Alozia Zealand For Ratchda JW

Class - Post Graduate (20,6)

1st Mennen & Sweeney , Joneva Just Imagine , this stylish O/W male caught my eye straight away , he has a handsome head with kind expression , thin leathers and he has long neck with slight arch, good depth to his brisket , well developed rear quarters with that desired curvy outline he looked super on the stack . On the move he held his outline and moved as an air scenting dog should , head held high , covering the ground easily. Super bee sting tail carried correctly . Very close to top honours.

2nd O, Neil , Tenshilling Shboom, another quality B/W dog , giving a lot away in maturity , he has a super curvy outline , his head is handsome with dark eye , correct finish to fore face , chest wide enough and decent infill . Ribs well sprung and of good length. Good width to second thigh , he is in excellent musculature condition and this showed in his ground covering movement. Just needs time to be the finished picture.

3rd Mathews , Sonham Raising The Game JW

Class Limit ( 13, 6)

1st Norbury , Adams & Upton , Heartbury Belacqua, L/W very feminine girl , she has a refined head , with soft expression , elegant long neck with slight arch , sits cleanly into well laid shoulders , brisket to her elbows and well sprung ribs , on the move she was a joy to watch , positive , correct movement, carrying her head high and correct tail action. Very well handled.

2nd Jamieson , Carmelfair Bellissima With Glenfinnan , another lovely B/W bitch , feminine head with kind expression, she is well balanced with super strong front , compact body , well angulated rear quarters , she holds herself well on the stack and keeps her topline on the move showing a good positive stride , covering the ground easily. Another with correct tail and used it well on the move.

3rd Stilgoe & Fox , Teisgol Snow Queen JW

Class Open (14,3)

Spoilt for choice in this class , many thanks for allowing me to judge a super quality class.

1st Jamison , Macara & Blackburn – Bennett, Sh Ch Kania Peri – Peri With Glenfinnan , this striking upstanding O/W male is so well constructed , whenever he caught my eye in the ring free stood ,his outline was there for all to see , symmetrical , and as the standards demands a series of curves. Handsome head with kindest expression. Lengthy gracefully neck , straight front , correct oval bone , brisket deep , ribs well sprung and balanced angulations front and rear . On the move he commanded your attention , moved at the correct pace with an easy ground covering stride at one with his handler delighted to award him BOB in a super lineup , it was with great pleasure I watched him take RBIS under Mrs Christine Morgan .

2nd Philo , Sunhouse Black is Back At Salmonmist JW (AI) , another super young B/W male , stylish dog , balanced and symmetrical in outline , masculine head with dark eye , fine leathers . Oval bone with slight slope to pasterns. Well muscled and strong quarters with good bend of stifle. He was very correct on the move , a pleasure to watch him covering the ground on an easy stride. Tail action was super. RBD.

3rd Martin , Sh Ch Sunhouse Banged To Rights , another quality male , super outline and balance , shown in the best musculature condition .
