Special Award Classes

A huge thank you to the club for asking me to judge the special award classes, it was a privilege to judge your dogs. I was delighted to be spoilt for choice in the three classes.

Such a lovely breed and your dogs were a credit to you all.

Junior Dog or Bitch (7,1AB)

1st Halliday, Hero Majestic Manon Lescaut Yennadon (IMP CZE)

10month male, presents a balanced picture on the stack, full of quality and substance, good bone and straight front, chest already of good depth. Masculine head, slightly rounded skull , dark eyes and soft expression. Moved steadily. Lots of potential for a puppy and will be interesting to watch him mature.

2nd Thomas, Charlton Little Black Dress, 11-month bitch, who is quite stylish already, rounded skull, enough stop and good finish to her muzzle. Shoulder blades long and well set back. Good length to neck, topline level and held on the move. Coat of good colour and texture. On the move she showed a good side gate, needs time to strength in rear but you would expect this with a puppy.

3rd Lines, Flaxheath Centrefold.

Post Graduate Dog or Bitch (11, 3ABS)

A difficult class as varied in age and type

1st Kelly & Hancock, Caradilis Sparks Will Fly JW, I was quite taken with this stylish bitch, balanced on the stack, good length to neck , level topline with good spring of rib , rear quarters were more moderate than some , short from hock to heel . Such a feminine head, low set ears and good stop. She won this class on her movement, she showed easy, free striding movement carrying her head high and keep her shape on the move. Shown in lovely coat of good colour.

2nd Hernwood Wizard Of Oz JW, this male didn’t always show himself of well on the stack , a real fidget , masculine head with a soft expression , good spring of rib, deep through chest and strength in rear quarters , long from hip to hock and short rear pasterns. On the move he showed good reach and drive, such a good side gate. Well handled.

3rd Smith, Amscot Air Born Via Kewstoke

Open Dog or Bitch (9 2ABS)

1st Mappin , Bryerdale Qangeroo(AI), Quality bitch , so balanced , straight front with shoulders long and well laid back , elbows well let down , not too long in body , ribs well sprung , slightly arched ,wide loin , long from hip to hock and short rear pasterns , on the move she shows her strength and construction as she powers round the ring , showing reach and drive , holding her topline and using her tail . lovely coat and shown in excellent muscular condition.

2nd Newton, Cornum & Timmermann, AmCh/Int Ch/Sh Ch Carnoustie Let The Game Begin (AI) (IMP AUS), so much to like about this male, I can understand why he has done so much winning , he is presented immaculately and in excellent muscular condition , beautiful coat of coal black. All masculine, strong front , good fore chest , deep through ribs , balanced for and aft . Head is masculine but still with a kind expression, he really does power around the ring , excellent front reach , I would have just preferred a tad slower to appreciate his rear movement. Not sure his handlerhas much say in that .

3rd Cuthbertson , Lainnireach Angels Share.
