Show date 07.12.2024
Thank you to the German Shepherd Dog Club of Essex for the opportunity to judge females and award CC’s at this well run show. Thanks also go to the committee and all the helpers that aided to making my day a memorable one, not forgetting my very able Steward Rachael. I was very pleased with my super entry, but sadly due to the terrible storm, there were inevitably more absentees than normally expected. Mouths, in the majority were correct, temperaments on all judged were all fabulous. I had some beautiful females to have the pleasure of judging, I genuinely had my work cut out and on my final line up as I had 4 females that I felt were worthy of a CC. My final winners were all I imagine the GSD female should be, presented in fabulous condition.
Vet B 4/1
1st Brechfa Neon Moon. J Enright, Dark Night x Ashrington Mustang Sally.
Sprightly 8 year old LC Sable, Med size and strength, feminine head, well set ears, little flat over her wither, straight strong back, short steep croup. Balanced fore and hind angulation, well coated of good texture and undercoat. Very sound away and back and when settled showed a powerful side gait with good reach. A little too well nourished.
2nd Sharphouses Jasmine Orange. J Sharpe, Iolanda Titan x Sharphouses Gwrti My Girl.
7 year old B&T, slightly smaller female of good strength, again a feminine head with a good expression and eye. Good length of neck, strong straight back, short steep croup, slightly steep and a little short in the upper arm, shoulder well placed. Sufficient hind angulation, sound both ways, lacking drive in open gait but very sound and steady.
3rd Ashringtons Mustang Sally. Ch Elmo von Huhnegrab x Ashrington Mustang Sally.
Dam to the 1st place female, 12 years LC. Very perfuse coat on this sweet veteran, feminine head, good ears when used, dark eye, straight back, a little short on loin, short steep croup, a little steep in upper arm, well angulated. Sound and steady both away and back, a steady side gait with correct foot fall, albeit, a little slower, she seemed to be enjoying herself.
Minor Puppy 7/0
What a lovely class, the future looks bright.
1st Sherna Jemstone vom falkenholz. Pascoe & Kemble, Jim vom Meeisna x Shernaa Akita.
6 month old, well pigmented B/T, ultra feminine, good head at this young age, correctly set, firm ears, dark mask and eye. Excellent length and angle of neck into correct wither, straight back, good length of loin, well muscled throughout. Well coupled baby, good tail set. Good shoulder with well angled upper arm of good length giving her a fabulous forehand already. Good underline, rear angulation not over done, strong and well muscled, let down in hock, short strong rear pasterns, all this reflected in a well co-ordinated gait, away and back, she had excellent forward reach and held her top-line at all times. Very promising baby.
2nd Corjon Tora by Deluxe Dream. R Jacunskiene, Blerio Bezique of Mascani x Corjon Lexi
7 1/2 months Richly pigmented B/T, eye catching youngster, very strong but feminine, dark mask, well set and used ears, so well coated that at first look she looked a little stuffy in her neck but hands on showed this not to be the case, correct wither, strong straight back, slight drop from lumbar, slightly steep group but of good length. Lovely forehand, when viewed from the front she showed good straight legs with excellent bone and substance. Well angulated in rear, can sometimes appear a little overdone but when free stood and moved she showed a very balanced profile. When moving she took time to settle into herself due to looking for owner I imagine, once she did settle to the task in hand, she showed a powerful and well co-ordinated side gait with excellent forward reach and good drive, this aided her to be moved up from my initial placing of 3rd to 2nd, over another quality youngster.
3rd Chin Chin Aus Silkenwood. Bibby & Cox, Elton Von Blankanera x Napoli Di Casa Palomba.
Very much the baby of the class, another eye catching B/T well pigmented, strong but feminine head, so much to like about her already, She presented with a very pleasing and balanced profile in stance. Loved her topline, good underline. Well angulated, slightly long in 2nd thigh. A little raw and a little uncoordinated on the move, still she did however briefly show a good forward reach, she very much has time on her side, love to see her again in another 6 months.
4th Yakasimba Bubbles
5th Simonite Cara
Puppy 2/2
Puppy LC 4/3
1st FlinFlin von Shotaan. Bibby & Cox, Elton von Blankanera x Napoli Di Casa Palomba.
Litter sister to 3rd in Minor Puppy, what a beautiful youngster, very much on the same stamp as her sibling, almost 7 months LC, well pigmented B/T, coat of correct texture for a puppy, with undercoat, beautiful head, feminine with correct head planes and stop, not overdone. Good length of neck, into good wither, straight back, good length of loin, croup slightly steep but good length. Well off for bone at this young age, well ribbed, balanced fore and hind angles, she is more together on the move at the moment than her sibling, showing a lovely well co-ordinated gait, great forward reach which you would expect from her fabulous forehand and lovely feet. Unlucky to meet the minor puppy winner today, but certainly another with time in her favour.
Special Beginers 2/0
1st Sharphouse Jasmin Orange 2nd in Vet
2nd Dora Ugninis Vilkas. G Doherty, Kirtiklliene Jackomo Garli Vletis x Nensi Armagedonas.
19 month, top size female, med strength, flat wither, strong back, well muscled loin, short croup, slightly steep upper arm, shoulder ok, good length underline, well angulated, a little long in 2nd thigh. Junior 7/3
1st Paulka Bali. P Ingham, Promo vom Osterberger-land x Paulka Thalia.
16 month, eye catching, well pigmented B/R, med size and strength, strong but feminine female, caught my eye when entering the ring. Good head, dark mask and eye, well set and used ears, good length of neck into correct wither. Strong straight back, well muscled loin of good length, good length of croup although just a little flat, tail well set. Good length of shoulder and upper arm producing a correct forehand, well ribbed, plenty of lung room, underline correct. Excellent hind angles, not overdone but with strong hocks and pasterns giving a very balanced profile. Sound away and back, even though she was on her toes and the surface was not forgiving at all. Showed a powerful and purposeful side gait with good forward reach and drive when settled. Held top-line at all paces, this female also has time on her side, I will follow her with interest, kept in last 4, for challenge.
2nd Sidira Yokko for Elleroost. C Elliot, Vesco Vom Radhaus x Ch sadira Rwonda.
15 month, b/t, med size and strength, feminine youngster. Beautiful head & expression, well set ears, excellent length of neck into high wither, straight strong back, well muscled loin, just a little short. Good croup well angled. Lovely forehand with well placed shoulder and upper arm, good rear angulation with well let down strong hocks, sound away and back and demonstrated a well co-ordinated side gait with good forward reach once she settled. Another very nice female.
3rd Charbonnel Pammy. S Platt, Promo v Osterberger x Larath Libertine
16 month B/G, med size, med strength, feminine throughout, good head, well set and used ears, good length of neck, gives a clean outline. Short straight back, good length of loin which was well muscled. Slightly steep croup, balanced front and rear angles, unsettled away and back, her side gait showed good forward reach and ample drive, retained top-line.
Yearling 3/0
1st Ariel Di Santa Venere, D Bibby, Bazooka Di Casa Celta x Virna Di Casa Lupo.
Almost 2 years old, B/T, upper med size, med strength, very eye catching female, so much to like about her, so strong yet very feminine, absolutely no mistaking her sex. Beautiful head and expression, good length and angle of neck into high wither, strong straight back, well muscled in loin and good length, well angled croup and well set tail. Excellent height to length ratio. Correct lay of shoulder of good length producing a lovely forehand, underline of good length, well balanced hind angles. When viewed from the front she had good width, straight legs, feet could be better but again surface was rather unforgiving on even the best of feet. Another who needed to settle but was sound away and back, when asked to open her gait she had excellent forward reach and drive retaining her top-line. A female I liked very much, kept in to the last 3 in the challenge, unfortunately on the day she just didn’t settle during the challenge, a lovely female worthy of top honours.
2nd Sadira Xenna, Winfrow & Cowliffe, Ch Odin Del Lupi Di Mare x Ch Fairycross Shakira At Sadira.
Another quality female with lots to admire, her profile was again very good and overline was lovely, 18month, feminine, med size and strength, beautiful strong yet feminine head, well set and well used ears, kind expression, well angled and good length of neck into correct wither. Straight back, long and well muscled loin, good length of croup, slightly steep, well set tail. Fabulous forehand made from super length and angle of upper arm and with lovely shoulder, well ribbed, good depth of chest, good underline, strong hindquarters, well let down in hocks, short strong rear pasterns. Slightly close behind, sound coming, free moving, good forward reach and good drive.
3rd Derorausts Elara, R&D Austen, Wilano Vom Anglebaum X Bailey Teanm Regina Pacis.
B/T, med size, feminine head, well set ears, good length of neck, good clean top line with good length of croup but needs to be better angled, well angulated behind, slightly long in 2nd thigh. Good height to length ratio. Not in her best jacket, but this female was very sound away and back and demonstrated a well co-ordinated steady and sound gait.
Post Graduate 8/4
1st Wakematts Jinz vom Sonarly, D&S Hill, Ch Odin Del Lupi Di Mare X Mater Domini (imp ITA
2 ½ year old, med size & strength, well pigmented, strong but feminine head, good ear set, lovely length of neck into high wither, straight back, well muscled loin, slightly steep croup of good length. Correct well balanced in front and rear angulation, showing a lovely profile, good height to length ratio, strong in hock and rear pasterns, feet ok. Took time to settle on away and back but saw enough to see that she was sound, when she settled into the job in hand she was a joy to watch in open gait, excellent forward reach and good hind thrust.
2nd Venome Laukine Vilkauoge, Tox VonDucati x Liepsna Laukine Vilkauoge
2 ½ year old sable, rangy female, strong but feminine head, totally out of coat, pleasing expression, good length of neck, strong straight back, good length of loin, slightly short croup, little steep in upper arm, well placed shoulder of good length, short underline, enough hind angulation, sound away and a back, when settled showed a coordinated sound and steady gait.
3rd Sharhouse’s Meridaleah, W Sharpe, Vilano v Angel Baum x Sharphouse Jasmin Orange.
3 year old female, Feminine head, balanced front and hindquarters, slightly stretched proportions, steady and sound away and back, showed a sound and steady open gait.

Limit 7/2
1st Jauseter Kelsi, PJ.SJ.JS Binden, Ch Tom Di Santa Venere x Jasueter Freda.
I got tingles with this one, just filled my eye for all the right reasons, Just over 2 years, med size, med strength, B/T beautifully feminine, she grabbed my attention as she came in the ring. Super coat and condition, beautiful, strong but completely feminine head, dark eye and mask, well set and used ears, loved her head. Good length and angle of neck into correct withers, strong and well muscled back of good length, no drop in lumber, well muscled loin, good length and of croup giving a fabulous clean and correct overline. Correct height to length ratio. Absolutely balanced front and rear coming from a well angled upper arm and correct shoulder length. Good underline, well muscled and angulated hind quarters, can look a little over angulated when stood on occasion but when standing herself and during movement she was not overdone at all. Strong hock, short strong rear pasterns this showed in her movement, sound away and back. She demonstrated a fabulous foot perfect open gait, excellent forward reach with no excessive lift and good drive as one would expect from her conformation. Top-line was held at all paces. She was a joy to watch on the move, I was pleased to award her the Bitch CC in excellent company as she never stopped showing. On the referee’s decision (Mr M Pucknall) she was awarded BOB. I understand this was her crowning CC, well worthy Champion, well done.
2nd Raska vom Funkenspiel. K Waite, Wei Vom Hutberg x Deby Vom Funkenspeil.
4 year old, well pigmented, B/R female, med size and strength with slightly stretched proportions. Strong but feminine head, dark eye and well set ears when she wanted to use them, she took time to settle and was not making the best of herself at all. I had initially placed her 3rd in this class but during the gaiting she just woke up then she caught my eye again, what I then was able to see was a wonderful outline, excellent forward reach and drive, sound away and in front, well retained top-line. When she free stood herself with no leaning back she showed a very well angulated rear, slightly flat croup but good length. Beautiful side gait in full flow, she gained 2nd place with all this in mind. A nice female who I felt needed more ring training to ensure that her individual assessment is not overlooked.
3rd Norwulf It Must Be Love. Nicholson, Kacmarc, Ch Larath Aramis x Ch Fairycross Sabine with Norwulf.
2 ½ years, B/T, all feminine, attractive head, good eye, well set and used ears, again a lovely female, lovely top-line made up from a straight strong back, nice length of loin, good length of croup, slightly steep in upper arm, good length of shoulder, underline a little short. Lovely hind angle, just the right amount of hind angulation, strong firm hock and rear pasterns. Although sound away and back she was a little unmotivated during gaiting sequence and unfortunately lost her initial placing of 2nd.
4th Burtonharven Bavi
5th Taznors Girl
Special Longcoat 4/2
1st Hausruma Auroura. A Shaikh, Dingo Di Casa Mary X Giantlands Preturia vom Hausruma.
3 year old, eye catching B/T, beautiful head, dark eye, well set and used ears, not over done in stop. In fabulous coat and condition, coat of correct texture with required undercoat present. At first glance she can look a little stuffy in neck but another female who you really needed to get hands on to feel that neck was in fact of good length, did tend to carry her head a little high at times. High wither, Short but strong back, good length of loin which was well muscled, slight drop in lumber, croup of good length but a little steep. Slightly short upper arm but well placed shoulder of good length. Well angulated female just on the limit for rear angles but well let down, strong hock and rear pasterns. Good away and back and showed an effortless side gait once settled, with powerful rear drive.
2nd Yakasimba Olohomora. R Landgren, Zitan Repition xQue Sera Sera X-men Storm.
2 1/2 years, another beautiful female, very attractive feminine head with good stop and head plains, good length and angle of neck into correct wither, strong straight back, good length of loin , well muscled, good length of croup with well set tail. Lovely forehand, good depth of chest, on the limit for hind angulation which was emphasized when stood, when she gaited and free stood this looked less so and much more pleasing. Unfortunately she was too unsettled on the move to assess fully during movement, however, i saw enough to see she did have good forward reach and held her topline.
Open 4/3
1st Wakematts Hosta. M Wakefield, Tako Della Bocca Del Visuvivo X Wakemates Strawberry Alice.
4 year old, upper med size, well boned female, sadly stood alone in this class but I couldn’t stop looking at her, beautiful head, fabulous calm expression yet alert at all times, dark eye and mask and well set and used ears. Lovely length of neck into correct wither, loved her clean overline, made up from a straight strong back and well muscled loin, again of good length, well moulded long croup with good tail set. Height to length ratio was excellent, plenty of lung room, well ribbed, pleasing forehand made up of excellent length of upper arm and equally correct shoulder, lovely underline completing the picture, well angulated with strong hock and rear pasterns resulting in a sound away and back, this female in gait showed a wonderful flowing and free gait, retained her correct top-line at all paces and had excellent forward reach and drive, she put up a super performance in the challenge, but was just pipped by the Limit winner. It sounds a bit of a cliché, but these two females could, indeed change places at any time. The limit winner just never switched off for a moment and when I was so very fortunate to have such quality females to assess it came down to the last moment and the smallest detail. I was pleased to award her the RCC today, I hear that she needs just 1 more CC for her deserved title which I am sure will not be far away.
