Miniature Pinscher Club
Any appointment is an honour and I had especially been looking forward to this one. Thank you to all who supported your club today. Lovely to see good prospects from the younger classes teamed up with well-supported veteran classes, the exhibits in which are in tip-top form and performing so well. Shout out to our stewards, Don Smith and Di Stark, the show couldn’t have been in better hands. Temperaments, in the main, were good; dentition was good and scissor bites were correct; however, on some exhibits nails are far too long and this will affect movement. Come on people, get trimming, it’s not like grooming takes us hours with our breed!
Always a good way to start your day, baby boy pin puppies. If they cannot bring a smile to your face, then absolutely nothing will!
Minor Puppy Dog(2,1)
1st Mitchell’s Alcum Tee Rex
7.5mth old; red of ideal size and with a super outline, square and well-bodied with good bone. Definitely, or maybe that should be defiantly, self-possessed however when he does co-operate, his movement is co-ordinated to permit a true hackney action. Loved his head, balanced skull to muzzle ratios and completed with a strong underjaw; he has a flat skull and correct ear placement, erect and small as possible; well filled under the eyes which are dark and correctly shaped with an oh so naughty expression! Strong, graceful arch to his neck which flows into correct shoulder placement; short-coupled with a super topline and a well-filled croup; correct tail set and well carried tail; a strong parallel rear, good width of thigh and sweep of stifle into already strong hocks. Correct front with a decent amount of forechest and depth down to his tight elbows, standing on straight legs with well padded feet. Pigment is good, dark eye; black nose and nails. One I would love to take home. Best Puppy Dog & BPIS
Junior Dog (2,1)
1.Hewitt’s Adurus Sundance Kid At Catamyrann
At just 17 months old, here was my star of the day. Ideal for size and shape, so balanced from his head to his tail. Strong, well muscled yet elegant boy; compact and well bodied, short coupled with a cracking topline and tail set. His head and underjaw are strong, his ears erect and small. His neck is strong yet graceful and flows into a good shoulder placement; decent forechest with good depth down to his tight elbows; his rear is well muscled and parallel with a good bend of stifle down to strong hocks, feet are well knuckled and nails are dark. He picks up well on the move and is so clean behind, with a great forward reach. He powers around the ring very naturally, his handler an afterthought, his movement is fluid and he also comes to a stand very naturally and balanced. I couldn’t, not look at his profile, he is definitely one that gave me that double-take moment. DCC and later BIS. Congratulations!
2. Park’s Rayjen Strawberry Pie 15 months, smart, clear red male with good dark pigment and who presents a pleasing, elegant outline. Love his handsome, classic head with well set, strong ears. He has a correct, well shaped dark eye with a super expression. Although giving away a couple of months in age to 1, and so needing to tighten in front and strengthen behind he is still presenting a lovely shape and in lovely muscled condition. He has a super topline, which he keeps on the move; a well filled croup into a correct tail-set. He fights his lead on the move but once settled, he moved out well. Yearling Dog(3)
1. Hewitt’s Adurus Sundance Kid For Catamyrann JW (repeat entry)
2. Soper’s Dobenar Leonidas Lovely temperament on this well marked blk/tan who has a lovely head and strong underjaw, with a dark well shaped oval eye; correct ear set which he uses well. He has a pleasing outline and although not as compact as 1 he has a decent sweep of stifle which helps to power him around the ring, showing well.
Novice Dog(1)
1. Park’s Rayjen Strawberry Pie (repeat entry)
2nd in junior but had settled now and was moving more naturally, on a looser lead.
Post Graduate Dog (5) A real mixed bag
1. Soper’s Dobenar Leonidas (repeat entry)
2nd in Yearling Dog winning here for overall breed type and had settled into himself and put on a lovely performance.
2. Hinchliffe’s Rayjen Pumpkin Pie For Shamal
Well balanced, short-coupled black/tan male, his tan a rich deep rust in colour; masculine head and strong underjaw; lovely expression in his dark, correctly shaped oval eye; broader in back skull than 1 but flat between his well set strong ears and a lovely arch to his neck; high wither into a strong short topline and correct tail set; sturdy parallel rear with a good bend of stifle into strong hocks. Good depth and breadth of forechest standing on straight front legs; good bone. Although moving a little wide coming towards, he is a positive mover and covers the ground well. It was lovely to hear the encouragement from his handler, reassuring him that he was doing a good job.
3. McLoughlin’s Krieger’s Kilted Dragon
Limit Dog(3,1)
1. Parker’s Kaypin Happy And You Know It
Red male of good size and dark pigment. Masculine head with a lovely expressive dark eye; ears are strong, well-set and small as possible. Lovely arch of neck into a decent front; standing on straight front legs with decent feet and dark nails. Although his topline is not ideal, he has a good tail set and carriage; strong rear with decent width to thigh and good sweep of stifle and he moves out really well.
2. Hewitt’s Adurus Highflyer For Catamyrann
This well-marked blk/tan is of an ideal size, with good bone and super cat-like feet with pencil marks. Lovely classic head with small, well set ears and a dark, well shaped eye with keen expression. Lovely arch of neck into good shoulder placement and good breadth and depth of forechest. His topline also needing to settle but today losing out as I preferred the front and rear angles of 1. Open Dog (7,2) Type is mixed, but all with something to give to the breed.
1. King’s Alcum Tiger King. Clear red, with good bone, cracking topline and tailset and a strong, clean rear. A controlled but easy mover who cannot stand wrong, he naturally comes to a stand, four-square, every time. He has good length to his head which is balanced with a strong underjaw; rather strong in brow but his skull is flat between his erect, well-set ears, which are as small as possible; dark expressive eye. His neck arches gracefully and flows into his correct front assembly standing on straight front legs and good feet. He is a strong, square, yet elegant male and sire of the DCC winner today.
2. Mcilroy-Stracey’s Krieger’s Elf Fantastico
Shaded red with lovely head and neck; love his expression. He has a decent front assembly with good depth and bone, just preferring the topline and more compact body of 1. Good width of thigh and strong rear, coming into his own on the move and really showing his heart out.
3.James’ CH Jaegerson The Edge JW
Champion Dog (2)
1. Westerman’s CH Charpin Ottomatic JW
2.5yr old whose smart, compact black/tan outline catches your eye. He has a lovely head with a decent underjaw; well-set ears which are strong and used well. Expressive, dark eyes; a lovely arched neck into a straight front assembly with decent forechest and depth to elbow. Well bodied; strong rear and bone in proportion. Well defined rich tan markings; lovely cat like feet. He impressed on the move, coming into a stand very naturally four-square. Pleased to award him the RDCC
2. Smith’s CH Hamilton Arrow At Tubize
This 5yr old well-marked black/tan is a favourite of mine that I have awarded highly but on this occasion having to make way for his son. Although not as compact as 1, he presents a balanced elegant outline; A classic head with good muzzle length; expressive dark eyes and small well-set ears. His front and rear are balanced and he moves out well enough, keeping his topline and showing happily for his young handler.
Veteran Dog (4) What a fabulous class, where you wish you had more 1st places.
1. Ironside’s Hawksflight If You Dare ShCM
Impressive condition for this happy blk/tan boy, a credit to his owner/handler, you would never know he was into double figures. Presenting an elegant outline and still sporting rich tan markings. Preferred his head proportions, equal skull to muzzle ratio; super ear set; darkest of eyes. He stands and moves a little wider in front and is longer cast than 2 but well-bodied with a good breadth and depth of forechest. Purposeful mover. Best Veteran Dog
2. Harrison’s Ch Trenson Flummadiddle ShCM
This handsome red boy catches your eye with his square, well balanced outline. Masculine head, expressive, dark well shaped eyes and strong, well-set ears, as small as possible; Strong, arched neck into a high wither; correct straight front with good breadth of forechest and depth to elbow; he is well bodied and short coupled with a cracking topline and tailset good bend of stifle and strong rear. Moves with good reach in front and strength from behind.
3. Parker’s Ch Vardenais Lumos
Now for the girls, with 3 lovely puppy bitches which bodes well for the future.
Minor Puppy Bitch (4,2)
1. Mitchell’s Alcum Suzie Que
7mth old red who is so well balanced in head and body; standing foresquare, so naturally with everything in the right place; very accurate on the move coming and going, with a co-ordinated profile hackney action. Super head of good length, flat between the skull with strong, erect well set small ears and a strong underjaw; Lovely arched neck into well placed shoulders; well bodied; compact with depth to tight elbows and stands straight on well padded feet with black nails. Super topline with correct tailset; a parallel rear with decent width of thigh and good bend of stifle which she picks up well to drive from the rear. Winning this class as she is more together and coupled with her forward-going confident character. Best Puppy Bitch
2. Coull’s Vardenais The Heat Is On
7.5mth old red with a lovely outline and her head is balanced, feminine and of good length. Although needing to grow into her ears, they are set well and she has a dark expressive eye. Lovely arched neck, into a good front assembly with depth to elbow; she stands well over the ground on super cat-like feet; correct topline and tailset with a good bend of stifle. She is longer cast and finer all through than 1 and not as forward going, but her handler worked hard and once she decided to co-operate she moved well.
Puppy Bitch (2,1)
1. Hind’s Alcum Siouxsie Sioux Diamoneo
Clear red girl presenting an elegant outline, litter sister to the minor puppy bitch winner and so similar, although maybe not as co-operative. Lovely head, feminine and well balanced; ears are small, erect and well-set; good fill under her dark well shaped eyes; beautiful arched neck into well placed shoulders, standing on neat, cat-like feet and black nails. Lovely body shape; with good depth down to elbows; correct tailset with good carriage; a decent rear with well shaped stifle. The lead change in the challenge, later in the day, made me smile as I remember her grandmother also going through several lead changes at one show as a puppy. It worked a treat though, so good thinking as she moved so much better, just losing out to her litter sister’s more co-ordinated movement.
Junior Bitch (2)
1. Colborne-Baber’s Danton Buttercup At Borneways
14mth, pretty red girl with a feminine head of good length; dark well shaped eyes and correct, strong ear set. Beautifully arched neck fitting into a higher wither; well bodied with a good forechest and depth to elbow; standing on longer feet which could be tighter. Topline is level and rear is strong with a good bend of stifle; moving accurately in front with a co-ordinated hackney action. In the final line up, my eyes were drawn back to her lovely outline and that coupled with her movement sealed the RBCC today.
2. Whetter’s Rayjen Strawberry Tart At Mandolais
Lovely 14mth old red girl with a beautiful outline, correct topline and tailset. Pretty head with lovely small ears, well bodied and shorter coupled than 1 with good depth to tight elbows standing on a decent front and neat cat-like feet. Lost out today as her movement was a little restricted in front and so not as fluid as 1.
Yearling Bitch (1)
1. Urwin’s Vickstock Wow Aneeva JW
Just shy of 2 years old this pretty, clear red girl has a beautiful head and strong underjaw; well-filled under her dark oval-shaped eyes and she has small, erect ears. Her neck arches gracefully into her super topline; with a super front assembly and compact body; neat feet with dark nails. Lovely outline on the stack but she lost her topline on the move today and was fighting against her lead a little.
Novice Bitch (3,2)
1 .Hind’s Diamoneo Indian Whispers
4 year old blk/tan who had such a lovely happy temperament. She has a lovely head with small erect ears and a dark brown eye. Well arched neck; good depth to elbow and breadth of forechest; standing on lovely cat-like feet with pencilmarks; Strong rear with good width of thigh and bend of stifle. Lovely arched neck into a super front assembly; short coupled good topline and tailset standing on straight legs and super catlike feet with black nails. 2.5 yr old well marked blk/tan whose super outline won her the class. Classic headpiece with a strong underjaw; ears rather large; well filled under the eyes which could be darker; Long graceful neck; good forechest with depth to elbow; well bodied and is more compact than 2. Good topline and tailset, and she carried her tail well on the move; a parallel rear with a good sweep of stifle and strong hocks; moves ok, just a little restricted in front.
2. Ironside’s Adurus Enable
2.5yr old blk/tan with a happy temperament. She has a lovely head of good length and dark expressive eye and correct, well-set ears. A nicely arched neck; a decent front assembly with good depth and breadth of forechest down to tight elbows. Not as compact in body as 1 and was just far too busy to even consider standing still. Champion Bitch (1)
1. Stracey’s Ch Krieger’s Kiss”N”Tell JW
Well! The apple certainly fell straight from the tree! I loved her mother (still do) who was the ultimate show-girl. At first glance she is a carbon copy with everything in just the right place with her beautiful blk/tan silhouette in excellent coat and condition. Strong yet feminine head, of good length and balanced; well-filled under her keen expressive eye; strong, gracefully arched neck flows into a faultless topline with well filled croup and correct tail set and carriage. Well bodied with good breadth and depth of chest down to tight elbows, standing fore-square on well-arched feet with black pencilmarks. Strength to her rear; a good bend of stifle and moved out, covering the ground so well. At just 18 months old, she still has so much more ahead of her. A pleasure to award her the BCC and later RESERVE BEST IN SHOW
Veteran Bitch (5,2)
1. Stracey’s Ch Krieger’s Dark”N”Delicious JW ShCM ShCEx
And here is the tree! So wonderful to see her again and now a Veteran in such tip top condition really pushing the girls hard and showing her heart out. Lovely typical head, strong underjaw with just the start of frosting around her muzzle. Super expression in those dark eyes, flat skull between her well set ears; graceful well arched neck into a super front assembly with good forechest and depth down to her elbows; correct topline and tailset; good strong rear; a well bent stifle and parallel hocks driving her forward, just toeing in slightly on the right rear foot, going away. Best Veteran Bitch and ultimately BEST VETERAN IN SHOW

Good breadth and depth of chest standing straight and square on lovely cat-like feet with black pencilmarks. She moved out really well with co-ordinated hackney action.
Stud Dog:

Certainly puts his stamp on his progeny, compact square outlines with strong heads of good length with a strong underjaw. Strong topline and correct tailsets. Good bone and well balanced front and rear angulation with accurate and free movement.
Brace:
1. Mitchell’s matching pair of reds, who looked very much of a type and moved beautifully together with co-ordinated hackney action.
2. Hinchliffe’s blk/tan pair who also put on a good performance together.
