Pointer Club Of Scotland

Breed: Pointer

Pointer Club of Scotland Championship Show

                                         Sunday 6th October 2024

It is an honour to be invited to judge one’s own breed at this level and I really enjoyed judging at this lovely friendly show and would like to thank Jon, my stewards, all the hard working committee and especially the exhibitors in the sporting manner with which they accepted my decisions. I was looking for well balanced Pointers with good quarters and correct tail with no upward curl. A few exhibits were too short in upper arm which restricts the dog from fully extending the front leg correctly when moving. Seeing a Pointer move with good reach in front and the rear hocks driving behind is a real pleasure. To generalize I feel the breed is in a good place and I was fortunate to have some really good Pointers to go over in some strong classes and I was really pleased with my final placings.
