Judge: Miss S Langdon

Firstly, thank you to everyone who entered. I was overwhelmed with the quality in some of the classes and there are many youngsters showing a lot of promise for the future of the breed. There is a slightly concerning loss of rear angulation and drive in some of the younger classes which is something to be noted, bearing in mind this is a working breed and without this the ability to herd with ease is lost. I would like to thank the exhibitors for providing me with some high-quality exhibits as, having had the breed since the age of 10, I have a vested interest in seeing the beautiful breed continue.

Class 2445 JD (4 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: 4867 CARLEY, Miss V Laceway Bite The Bullet - This young male shows lovely sound movement with correct drive front and rear due to his good angulation and ideal topline. Balanced head with good stop and dark eye, nice straight hocks and well set tail. Presented beautifully with a correct coat coming in nicely. He has a lot of promise and was considered for the RCC. He just needs a fraction more time to come into himself and get the final finish.

2nd: 4920 SMIT-SIRAAL, Mrs. J.j. & SMIT, Miss S.C. & WILTSHIRE Mr I, From Borders Home Kryptonite - Little less mature male but again with nice overall balance, good reach of neck, level topline and good tail set. He moved well with drive and purpose. Lovely head with nice dark eye, good ear set and is well bodied, just lacking a little depth of chest due to maturity.

3rd: 4913 PRANDLE, Miss Joanne Roydenbark Meet Joe Black At Baywern

Correct head with good proportions, ample neck and well set shoulders. Good outline with well set down hocks and cats paw feet. Nicely coated and fringed. He moved with good drive rear and front.

2nd: 4901 LEE, Mrs Susannah & GREEN, Mr R K Fayken I Am Soul JW - A smart young male just tipped by the stronger rear drive of first place. Lovely head and ear set, good reach of neck, strong front angulation and movement. Topline good and lovely long tail. Rear angulation is good but today he lacked a fraction of rear drive on the move.

Class 2448 GD (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 4863 BUCKLEY, Mrs J Amkamel Half Blood Prince JW - Heavy coated male, well furnished and presented. Parallel front, good bone and nice depth of chest. He did play up on the move which affected his movement today although what was seen appeared to be sound.

Class 2449 PGD (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 4917 SHAHMATOVA, Dr M Nashdom All Eyes On You JW - Beautifully presented male slightly on the larger side. Very sound overall, nice angulation and tail set. Lovely head with keen expression and good balance. He lacks a little depth of chest however is still young so this may come with time and maturity. On the move he showed good strong drive even though he played his handler up.

Class 2450 LD (8 Entries) Abs: 2

1st: 4882 GREEN, Miss C N & PATERSON, Mr J Arrodare Family Tradition JW - Nice sound male, very unexaggerated and could easily do a day’s work. Strong masculine head with good proportions and excellent ear set. Correct coat presented well with lovely furnishings and overall balance superb. Ample reach of neck leading onto well set shoulders, level topline, ample length of loin and correct tail set. Cats paw feet with well set straight hocks. Moved with great ease showing lovely drive forward and rear. A pleasure to award RCC.

2nd: 4868 CASTLE, Miss Amanda Jupavia Divine Dream - Yet another very sound male who really pushed to challenge for first place. Superb condition, classic head with intelligent expression and lovely dark eye. Movement true coming and going covering the ground with ease. Lovely reach of neck, good angulation, good depth of chest and well carried topline.

3rd: 4871 CHANCE, Mrs Jan & CHANCE, Mr Graham Goytre Chance To Reflect

Class 2451 OD (7 Entries) Abs: 1

This was a really fabulous class to judge and a pleasure to be able to see such quality males.

1st: 4861 BROADHURST, Mr E Sh Ch Rosehurst Royal Sunset - This fully finished adult male had everything I was looking for. He displayed the overall appearance of a working dog with a full correct coat in lovely condition. Lovely head with a strong jaw, ample stop, good ear set and lovely dark eye leading onto strong neck of good length. Front and rear angulation are ideal hence his ability to power around the ring covering the ground with no problem. He has well sprung ribs with a good depth of chest and is parallel front and rear when viewed. This is the type of male who could work with ease as well as being shown. Pleased to award DCC.

2nd: 4886 GREEN, Mr R K & RATCLIFFE, Miss J Sh Ch Fayken Truth Or Dare With Arrodare JW - Yet another lovely male who gave all to challenge for first place. Slightly lighter in frame than first but with a great spring of rib, ample depth of loin and lovely topline. Masculine head with correct ear set and lovely expression. Fully balanced overall with topline, reach of neck and tail set. He moved with purpose free flowing and covering the ground well with correct reach and drive.

3rd: 4879 FAWCETT, Miss H Sh Ch Laceway Don't Stop Me Now

Class 2452 SBD (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 4863 BUCKLEY, Mrs J Amkamel Half Blood Prince JW

Class 2453 VB (4 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 4880 FAWCETT, Miss H Janbell Out Of The Blue At Laceway - Very smart merle with a super smart appearance and good balance. Well coated with a good shaped head, correct ear set, ample neck leading onto well set shoulders and level topline. Lovely straight hocks, good tail set and moved with drive and purpose.

2nd: 4884 GREEN, Mr R K & RATCLIFFE, Miss J Sh Ch Fayken The Devil In Me JW - This was another really nice veteran, slightly daintier than first place. Correct coat, nice angulation front and rear, nice depth of chest and spring of rib. Superb shape overall really fought for first place and I am sure will have swapped places in the past.

3rd: 4903 LEWIS, Mrs Melanie Jane & LEWIS, Mr Iain Shemella Moonlight Dream:

Class 2454 MPB (4 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: 4883 GREEN, Miss C N & GREEN, Mr R K & RATCLIFFE, Miss Borderpride Laced In Truth By Fayken - This young rather raw puppy grabbed my attention as soon as she moved. She has lovely angulation, a very pretty head with nice balance and alert expression. Angulation front and rear has nothing to fault along with her level topline, correct tail set and cats paw feet. She is something to be watched in the future - I am sure she will be a big winner. Pleased to award BPIB and I considered her for the RCC but the lack of maturity is the only reason she didn’t get it.

2nd: 4900 LEE, Miss B & RATCLIFFE, Miss J Jaybob Child's Play - Very immature less balanced puppy, coat coming through correctly, just lacking which will come in with time and maturity. Nice dark eye, keen expression, good head, nice tail, topline held level on the move. She is a fraction square currently, but a little more depth of chest and spring of rib could well change this. Now she just needs a little more maturity to balance everything.

3rd: 4874 COOPER, Miss S M Dysynnis Diamond Bill

Class 2455 PB (2 Entries) Abs: 2

Class 2456 JB (3 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: 4881 FAWCETT, Miss H Laceway Breaking Waves - Good quality strong mover with good angulation. Lovely strong hocks well let down and parallel front and rear. Pretty head of good proportions, ample reach of neck and good depth of chest for a young bitch. Lovely rear drive covering the ground well and with ease.

2nd: 4923 SURRIDGE, Mrs Margaret & SURRIDGE, Mr. Philip Roydenbark Casablanca - Another nice youngster lacking a little in maturity, but this will come. Elegant head with good dark eye and tight lip, sufficient reach of neck with good angulation. Nice topline, good balance and well coated. Moved well but a fraction unsettled which didn’t allow the rear drive to be enough to take first place.

Class 2457 YB (2 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 4919 SMIT-SIRAAL, Mrs. J.j. & SMIT, Miss S.C. & WILTSHIRE Mr I, From Borders Home Jardin De Rosas - Lovely bitch with good solid bone, nice depth of chest, ample loin and wonderful angulation. She powers round the ring with ease covering the ground superbly. Good correct coat immaculately presented. She has a lovely outline, good tail set, level topline and a nice head but overall I would like a her ear set to be a fraction higher, however, she just couldn’t not win the class with movement as super as she showed today.

2nd: 4910 OLIVER, Dr A J Tambuzi The Heat Is On JW - Lovely bitch today showing a little too much excitement making her handler work extremely hard! She is overall a well balanced youngster of good quality, lacking in maturity but a lovely sound bitch with plenty of potential.

Class 2459 GB (4 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 4919 SMIT-SIRAAL, Mrs. J.j. & SMIT, Miss S.C. & WILTSHIRE Mr I,From Borders Home Jardin De Rosas

2nd: 4893 GREGORY, Mrs J K Tidespring Hopes And Dreams Via Tonkory - Well balanced in angulation and topline, nice head with lovely expression and good dark eye. Ample neck, well sprung ribs and good depth of chest. Parallel front and rear. For some reason today she decided that her handler needed to work hard so played up a lot on the move making it hard to really get a true judgement on movement. I am in no doubt that she can move and could see elements of true movement and would love to see her more settled on another day.

3rd: 4910 OLIVER, Dr A J Tambuzi The Heat Is On JW

Class 2460 PGB (3 Entries) Abs: 2

1st: 4865 CARLEY, Miss V Jupavia Silver Flame - Slightly finer built bitch in beautiful condition and handled well. Movement was true with lovely free flowing drive and powered round the ring. Pretty head with dark eye, well set ears and good stop. Nice reach of neck with good shoulders, level topline and well angulated on the rear with a good correct coat. With a little more maturity she should gain a fraction more depth of chest which will just give her that ideal finish.

2nd: 4908 LUSTY, Miss Abby Birkcross Simply The Zest For Blamorder - Another nice bitch of good coat, well bodied and with a good depth of chest. Balanced head with intelligent expression, well set shoulders, long tail set on a level topline and good reach of neck. She moved well with purpose and drive.

3rd: 4906 LEWIS, Mrs Melanie Jane & LEWIS, Mr Iain Shemella Misty Morning:

Class 2461 LB (5 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 4904 LEWIS, Mrs Melanie Jane & LEWIS, Mr Iain Shemella Shepherds Delight - Another fine and elegant bitch with a correct coat in good condition. Well proportioned head with keen expression and tight lips. Well set shoulders leading onto a level topline, good front and rear angulation with a nice overall balanced outline. Showed her soundness on the move and presented a lovely outline throughout.

2nd: 4864 CARLEY, Miss V Jupavia Heart Of Melita - This is a truly lovely bitch but it was a shame today that she just didn’t settle and move well enough to take the class. She is lovely to go over and has good angulation front and rear with ample reach of neck and correct topline. Nice long tail, well coated and presented. Her movement showed true drive front and rear when she settled but today just wasn’t her day to show herself off properly. One I would like to see again.

3rd: 4862 BUCKLEY, Mrs J Tambuzi True Colours To Amkamel

Class 2462 OB (10 Entries) Abs: 2

This class was a stunning class to judge with some extremely beautiful bitches.

1st: 4878 FAWCETT, Miss H Sh Ch Laceway Raise The Roof - This bitch was exactly what I was looking for in so many ways. She has a beautifully balanced head with dark eye, tight lips, well set ears and intelligent expression. Overall, she has a beautiful shape with a fantastic reach of neck leading onto ideal angulation front and rear allowing her to move with the most incredible drive which is essential in this breed. Her topline never faltered, presented in immaculate condition and showing her heart out she was today my BCC and BOB winner. She is for sure a bitch who I would love in my own kennel.

2nd: 4898 LEE, Miss B & RATCLIFFE, Miss J Sh Ch Arrodare Showdown JW - Another beautiful bitch who was a pleasure to judge. There was lots to like about this bitch, her beautifully balanced head with sweet expression and dark eye, the typical true outline of a sporty working dog and lovely reach of neck. Her overall correct angulation allowed her to power round the ring showing off her true movement coming and going. She is finished with an ample coat of correct texture and nice long tail. Pleased to award RCC.

3rd: 4887 GREEN, Mr R K & RATCLIFFE, Miss J Sh Ch Fayken I Am Here JW

Class 2463 SBB (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 4873 COLES, Miss Chelsea J Borderpops Cirrus At Dawn - Sweet bitch in good condition with a pretty head, well set ears and good stop. Her coat is coming in nicely, nice feet and well set tail of good length. Good bone and well bodied. She was a little unsettled with the tannoy but her handler persisted and got the best out of her on the day.
