Thank you to all the exhibitors for the fantastic entry which was the 2nd highest in the toy group and to the committee for their kind judging invitation. also, to my two stewards on the day for keeping the ring running so smoothly.
I was really impressed by the overall quality of the exhibits, with special reference to health and overall type.
Pigment has improved since I last judged the breed, however some dogs exhibited narrower fronts and wider rear movement which cost them higher places on the day.
Minor Puppy Dog (2 entries) Absent 0
1st Ms Arnold-Stronge’s Snugglepug Bee on the Ball
Promising 7 ½ month old fawn puppy, with a clearly defined dark pigmented fine wrinkled head, clear dark eye, good nostrils and fine neat ears. Well, boned straight front and tight feet. Good reach of neck, well barrelled rib, top line still developing. Tail set ok. Well angulated hind quarters lovely outline and excelled on the move. Handled and shown very well.
2nd Pritchard’s Empugrium Rudimental
Another quality clear fawn 6 ½ old puppy with lovely head qualities, clear black eyes and mischievous expression, good width of muzzle and correct fine ears with correct placement. Straight well boned front, good reach of neck and well sloped shoulders, well barrelled rib, top line still developing and slightly longer in back than I, moved well I just preferred the overall balance of 1 on the day.

1st O’Leary’s Haselorhill First Edition from Mopszawawa
This dog caught my eye as he came into the ring very smart strong headed 9-month-old quality fawn with excellent pigmentation leading to well defined diamond and fine wrinkle and the darkest of eyes, good nostrils and lovely width of muzzle giving a lovely alert expression. Straight well boned front with defined fore chest, lovely crest of neck, good spring and barrel of rib and well-set twist, held his top line on the move with good rear angulation giving a lovely overall outline. Excellent movement with a typical pug roll. Moved and shown very well. One to watch in the future. BPD/BPIB/RDCC and delighted to see him short listed in the Special Beginners Group.
2nd Howe’s Chandshar Fab Frankie
11-month-old fawn who his owner described as a terrorist on the table, and I would agree!
When I eventually managed to go over him, he had a well pigmented fine wrinkled head with well set ears and the clearest of dark eyes, good width of muzzle but I would prefer wider nostrils. Lovely alert naughty expression. Well boned front with good depth of brisket, good reach of neck, well ribbed and compact, tail set ok Moved very well just lost to 1 on top line.

1st Turnbull’s Nicorbi’s Lord of the Rings
Well-constructed fawn full of bone and substance with a lovely outline. Strong masculine head with the deepest of pigmentation, with well-defined fine wrinkle displaying a typical thumbprint, luscious clear dark eyes giving a beautiful expression, well boned front and deep chest with good brisket I would just prefer more foreleg however this one fault did not distract from his overall qualities, correct arch of neck and good barrel and spring of rib set within straight top line and correct twist. Excellent on the move a real showman.
2nd Cairn’s Anzhela Scent Francis
14-month-old strong fawn dog with beautifully defined wrinkle and jet-black pigmentation, small neat ears, clear dark eyes, big black nose and wide muzzle, good front and tight feet with black nails, good reach of neck, well sloped shoulders, compact, good barrel of rib carried well back and level top line, good twist. Moved around the ring well taking his owner with him.

1st Dawson-Payne & Mousley’s Ch Judamie Eltons Sun JW
Striking fawn with a lovely outline well balanced from every angle. Round head with deep black pigment, good width of muzzle well filled out under clear dark eyes, well set neat fine ears. Beautiful clear fine coat, well boned straight front with deep chest, level top line. Moved well around the ring. Unfortunately having an off day today and dropped his tail throughout the class even when a second handler was bought in which cost him in the challenge.

Fawn two-year-old boy strong masculine head with well-defined wrinkle, dark well pigmented ears that are buttoned and fine. Balanced head with good depth and width of foreface and muzzle. Clear dark eyes with a glint of mischievousness, fine nose roll and wide nostrils. Very good front, well boned with correct fore chest and good depth of brisket lovely outline with good reach of neck, level topline, and good barrel of rib leading to a well angulated back end, good turn of stifle. Moved very well.
2nd Walker’s Afterglow Wild West Hero at Sunlea
Another quality dog who will change places with 1 on another day.
15-month-old very smart compact quality fawn who I really liked. Good sized round head with wide muzzle and deeply pigmented fine wrinkle. Dark clear eye, nostrils ok and pleasing expression. Straight well boned front, good depth of brisket and black nails, lovely outline on the move with correct reach of neck and good spring of rib, good tail set. Moved and shown well. Close decision.

Well boned fawn full of substance. Beautiful well-balanced round head with plenty of fine well-defined wrinkle, lovely length of foreface, good width of muzzle, clear dark eyes, and small rosed ears. Correct front with good depth of brisket, neat feet and black nails, lovely crest of neck, short back and good barrel of rib, tight twist, very good angulated rear. Very good movement with real ring presence. Pushed hard for top honours.
2nd Collier’s Pugistie Meant to Bee
Compact fawn with lots to like, beautifully balanced with dark finely wrinkled head, well filled out under dark eyes and good width of muzzle. Correct fine darkly pigmented ears good reach of neck, good spring of rib, straight top line and tight twist, very good angulation, moved well around the ring at one with his handler. Just preferred the overall substance and rib of 1.

Well balanced quality fawn dog that catches your eye when he enters the ring. Strong head with clearly defined well pigmented wrinkle, dark expressive clear eye, and correct ear placement, big black nose with excellent nostrils, well boned straight front with black nails, beautiful arch of neck and good shoulder placement, well barrelled of rib going well back, level top line, good turn of stifle on the move. Moved around the ring as if he owned it, pleased to award him the DCC.
2nd Rutherford’s Ch Potbelli Limited Edition
Another beautiful quality compact masculine fawn with lovely head qualities, who I judged as a puppy and has matured so well. Deep black pigment with clearly defined wrinkle and the clearest of dark eyes, well filled under and lovely expression, good length of foreface and good width of muzzle, small neat well placed button ears. Enough reach of neck, well barrelled rib and well-placed twist leading to well angulated hind quarters. Moved very well just preferred the reach of neck and ring presence of 1 on the day.

7-year-old elegant gentleman thoroughly enjoying his day out. Clear dark eyes that have a hint of mischievous in them and finely wrinkled head with neat ears. Well boned front with good depth of brisket and neat feet. Compact with enough spring of rib and ok tail, well angulated rear and moved and handled very well. BVD

Confident puppy of just 8 months with a beautiful feminine expressive head with the darkest of eyes and wide-open nostrils, small fine well-set ears. The finest of fawn coats, correct crest of neck and well boned straight front with neat feet, deep brisket plenty of rib on a compact body still strengthening through top line, good turn of stifle. Moving slightly wide on the back movement but this did not detract from her overall qualities.
2nd Pike, Pike & Pritchard’s Empugrium it’s all Peachy with Eivisah
Another quality 6-month fawn puppy clearly defined with well pigmented wrinkle and good width of muzzle, wide nostrils and expressive dark eye. Correct well boned front, lovely arch of neck, good spring of rib, top line still developing, correct tail placement with a lovely double twist. Moved very well keeping her owner on her toes. Just preferred overall balance of 1.

11 ½ month old standard sized compact quality fawn puppy who is balanced from every angle. Beautiful head qualities with fine well pigmented wrinkle and a defined thumbprint, clear dark eyes, well filled under with open nostrils, well boned front and good depth of brisket, lovely crest of neck, well barrelled rib and level top line, good twist. Excelled on the move one to watch in the future. Considered her for top honours just unlucky to meet the PD today who was equally impressive. BPB.
2nd Marsh’s Croften Going for Gold
Compact clear fawn shown in immaculate condition, fine wrinkled head, neat well set fine ears. Very expressive clear dark eyes with good nostrils, good width of muzzle and length of foreface.
Enough bone and depth of brisket on front, neat feet, good length of neck, well ribbed top line moved and shown very well just preferred the front of 1.

Straight front enough brisket, neat feet. Lovely crest of neck and a level top line which she kept on the move, good twist and well angulated back end. Moved around the ring with purpose.
2nd Saffer & Swinge’s Bubbapug Summer Sundae JW
Quality bitch that I have admired from the ringside, very feminine expression with lovely pigmentation and fine wrinkle, well boned front, with good fore chest and depth of brisket.
Correct reach of neck, enough spring of rib and good twist, just slightly out of coat and dipping her top line on the day.

This bitch caught my eye as she entered the ring, and she did not disappoint when I went over her. Well-proportioned cobby feminine bitch full of substance and bone who is balanced from every angle. The clearest of fawn coats, with deep pigment and large clear dark luscious eyes, finely wrinkled head, and a big black nose with wide nostrils. Straight well boned front with well let down brisket, good barrel of rib, well angulated rear end, and a tight well-set twist which she did not stop wagging. Moved with conviction around the ring keeping her topline and taking her owner with her. Star of the day for me BCC/BOB and delighted to see her go Toy Group 4. Great ambassador for the breed
2nd Dawson-Payne & Mousley’s Judamie Thelma Jean
Square cobby fawn with a pretty well-defined feminine wrinkled head. Fine well-set button ears, large clear dark eyes, giving correct expression and alertness. Good reach of neck, well boned front and good spring of rib travelling well back, level top line and good twist, well angulated rear and she stood four square for her handler, moved with ease.

Black nails. Moved very well and showed herself off at every opportunity.
2nd Birch’s Flashnik’s Glass Slipper
Standard size clear fawn with lots to like, beautiful head qualities, with clear dark eyes, well set dark fine ears with very good pigmentation, open nostrils, and good length of foreface with wide muzzle, straight front with good depth of brisket, correct top line, would just prefer a tighter twist but this did not detract from her overall qualities, well angulated back end. Moved and shown well.

Straight well boned front, neat feet with the blackest of nails. Good depth of brisket, correct shoulder placement and good reach of neck leading to a good spring of rib and level top line and correct twist, well angulated back end.
Very elegant on the move she knew exactly where she was going moving to a typical pug roll.. RBCC

Very confident on the move, just very slightly out of coat which cost her in the challenge.

A girl that I like when I last judged her, quality feminine fawn showy bitch with dark mask and finely wrinkled defined head and dark expressive eyes, ok nostrils and well-set ears. Straight front, neat feet and good depth of brisket, well arched neck, short level back and correct tail set with tight twist. Well angulated rear end. Kept her top line on the move, handled very well. Just preferred overall substance of 1.

8-year-old girl with hardly a grey whisker in sight in fantastic condition and moved exceptionally well. Enough wrinkle which is fine and well defined. Clear dark eyes, good width of muzzle and foreface and lovely underjaw, lovely front, good shoulder placement and neat well boned front. Good length of neck, well barreled rib and straight topline which she held on the move, Good twist and angulation overall really nice girl enjoying her day out. BVB BVIB
