Ladies Kennel Association 2024 Breed – Dalmatian Critique Judge Dr Sidney Bolt
My first LKA at Stafford Show Ground and was really appreciative of the warm welcome and hospitality proffered by the ladies who run this show so well – many thanks
So in general comments, I must say I would have preferred a larger ring considering the fantastic entry that was kindly given. Sadly with a breed that is based on condition and movement it was difficult to assess some classes as a whole as it is always beneficial to the judge if you can see the class moving as a group.
Due to the floor some dogs were affected with slippage noticeable on the left hand hind quarter. The green carpet from NEC would mitigate this and results could have changed.
In general it would appear that we have lost some of the femininity in the bitches and size seems to be creating upward. There were many that appeared out of condition and carry a little excess weight which could be down to the miserable summer – or lack of it.
Temperament was good although a number of good dogs and bitched seem shy and would not be ‘gone over’. Sadly, I could not place these dogs as it doesn’t align with the standard of an ‘out going’ breed.
It was great to see many new up and coming puppies and my opinion from seeing these pups is that the breed is in good health.
Minor Puppy Dog – Number of dogs (7)
1st – Evans’s Hafwenna Pie Kid You Not for Trolkadal
What a lovely little liver lad this is who took my eye when he came into the ring having an assured ring presence which is always good to see in pups. A well made pup with good head of correct size and muzzle length. He has good attentive expression with good pigment and a nicely broken ear. Good neck and lay of shoulder with correct developing chest, good length of back and tail set. Stands four square and shouting to be acknowledged.
He moved well with drive and purpose for one so young – well schooled.
He is a dog with pleasing decoration and overall picture of what I was looking for. Promising pup with hopefully a good future.
2nd – Green and Sears Shydally Golden Star Over Judally
This is a really nice youngster who could have just as easily taken first place in this class. Very little to choose between them and another day things may have been reversed.
Slightly shorter coupled than first but what a great pup this is giving everything and shouting ‘look at me’.
A dog with blackest pigmentation and a handsomely pleasing head of correct size, with good ear set which are also nicely broken. He has a lovely length of neck, good shoulder placement well set and level top line. Good spring of rib and loin length. Correct tail set and great rear quarters having good turn of stifle which drove him well with true movement fore and aft. Another well schooled and well behaved youngster. Like first, a dog I predict who will do nicely for his owners with a great potential future
3rd – Howard Riddle’s Shydally Star Gazer
Puppy Dog – No of dogs (6)
1st – Wilkins’s Salvadorada King of Hearts
Such a nice youngster who won this class on his movement and maturity – well handled. Black dog with nice head that has great expression. Correct pigmentation and eye colour, good scull width with well placed and broken ear. Good length of neck leading to forming wither. Correct lay of shoulder, good front, spring of rib and level top line which is kept when he moves. Flowing tail set, well angulated rear quarter. Nicely decorated and generally a nice overall picture.

3rd - Cattermole’s Hafwenna Dumbledores Army for Kalvadene
Junior Dog- No of Dogs(3)
1st - Cattermole’s Hafwenna Dumbledores Army for Kalvadene
This is a very nice liver dog of correct colour who deserved to win the class on his ring presence and movement alone. A dog that is well balanced and shaping up rather nicely with handsome head with good attentive expression. Pleasing head of correct size and expression and beautifully broken ear. He has good length of neck set into correct shoulder and nicely forming withers. A dog with good front and chest having good spring of rib and length of loin to good turn of stifle.
Moved true carrying a level top line with drive and purpose. Gave his all right from entering the ring to the end of his class. Handled and moved at correct pace and another with a strong future.
2nd – Stock’s Dalmark’s Jubilation at Nospar (JW)
A nice liver dog of correct size and balance. Met a nemesis today in one who seemed slightly further ahead in maturity. A good looking dog with for me a cheeky expression who has correct head having correct width, good eye colour and pigmentation. Good length of muzzle and pleasantly spotted.
Slightly shorter in neck than first but does not detract from overall outline being strong and well set into good shoulder placement and beautiful chest. He has a well sprung rib and correct coupling. Stifle is developing nicely with good hock.
Didn’t quite have the drive on movement as first but think that’s a maturity thing. He gives a good overall picture of a well balanced youngster.
3rd – Claesen’s Dalstorm Just Living
Yearling Dog – No of Dogs (8)
1st- Dinsdale’s Dotlun Apache Running Bear (JW) Love the name of this dog.
I have seen this dog only once before and was taken with him then. Sadly today he didn’t seem that settled for some reason and made his handler work. The environment and floor may not have been to his liking as with many others. Outside I think he would be another dog again.
A very nice upstanding liver dog of quality and refinement. He is well balanced and moves well and is true fore and aft with good tight front. His ring presence wasn’t shouting today but the undeniable quality is there.
Handsome well balanced appealing head of good size and with great pigmentation. Well carried nicely decorated ear set on correctly. Pleasing eye with much warmth. He has a well constructed front with good length neck held correctly flowing into a developed wither and well laid shoulder. A dog with good bone and developing substance without losing any refinement. He has a well sprung rib with correct length of loin, good bend of stifle. Carries a good top line stood and on the move creating a balanced picture. I think he would possibly benefit from moving out a little faster to extend his movement and complete the picture.
2nd- Croft’s Jaxsondal Creme de la Creme at Koroyza
A shorter coupled more compact dog than first but another sound dog of quality in the hardest condition. A dog with good pleasing head great ear placement which are well held framing his expression, well pigmented with eye of correct colour.
Strong neck well set into a good shoulder. He kept a good top line. Correct set croup leading to a flowing tail set. A dog with a well sprung rib and great depth of brisket offering plenty of heart and lung room thus creating a compact picture due to his shorter loin. He has a well developed chest and holds a good front on the move. He has the classic liver decoration evenly proportion throughout his body
His movement was sound and enthusiastic which is always pleasing to see.
3rd – Wright’s Millbelle Thunderfire (JW)
Graduate Dog - No of Dogs (3)
1st – Barrett’s Dalamanti Dukes Legend (JW)
Another quality liver dog displaying elegance and classic decoration of correct colour. He has a handsome head with pleasing expression. Correct skull size being balanced and proportionate with good pigment and eye colour, nicely decorated ear well carried. A dog of balanced proportion having good length of neck well placed angulated shoulder. Wither is developing, nicely. Correctly coupled dog having proportionate length of back, good depth of brisket and correct length of loin with well set croup offering the correct tail set. Good rear quarters having good turn of stifle and good rear angulation.
A dog with good all round movement that is not overdone in any way.
2nd – Whincups’s Tamilanda Vintage Gold
Preferred the head of first but very little to choose between these two dogs both displaying similar traits.
A dog with good pigment, correct bespectacled eye, correct width of skull colour and nicely placed decorated ear. Well placed neck of good length with correct lay of shoulder offering him a good front and fore chest. A dog that is well bodied and carries a good top line with a well sprung rib, good depth of brisket, balanced length of loin leading to strong rear quarter that are correctly angulated.
He is sound on the move and moved out with drive and purpose being true front and rear.
Post Graduate Dog – No of Dogs (5)
1st – Cuthbertson’s Kalsidoni Blue Gemstone
Another dog from this kennel with much sparkle. A black dog of balance and of correct balanced proportion. The overall picture of this dog is undeniably the classic image one has or uses as a standard for the Dalmatian.
He has a good head with darkest pigmentation that is carried on throughout the dog. Correct length of neck that is strong at insertion to a developing wither. He has good lay of shoulder leading to a sound front. A dog of balanced proportion with good chest having good heart and lung room with good spring of rib. Good top line which he carries well to correct loin length. Well muscled hind quarters which I think he could have used more in the challenge however a true mover front and rear and a picture from the side elevation
2nd – Holburn’s Glenlion Mystical Mountain
I had a real problem in this class with both dogs being of a different type. This is a good sound dog that I like who is well put together with good bone, a firm top line, deep chest and good spring of rib. He hides nothing and placement could have gone either way.
He has a pleasing head and expression with good pigmentation. He has a nice length of neck that is well placed in a well muscled shoulder with good strong developed wither. Well
off for bone in all areas having good fore chest, well bodied spring of rib, depth of brisket and correct loin. He has strong well angulated rear quarters that allow him to ‘float’ on the move. This dog was one of the best movers on the day. He moves so well and with such ease and fluidity having a controlled powerful yet refined movement.
Like so many I have seen him a little more animated on the stand but am guessing he wasn’t overly keen on the venue.
3rd – Newton’s What You See Is What You Get Passionate About You For Chizzmic (JW)
Limit Dog –No of Dogs (1)
1st – Crookes Dalberry the Starburst - Res CC
Nicely pigmented dog with for me lovely decoration which always is the cherry on the cake as with this dog that stood giving the true picture of our breed.
An outstanding dog in this class who was so at one with his owner at all times throughout the class. How lucky you are to own such a nice dog that for me reflects our breed to the standard.
Loved this liver dog who for me shouts of the class of dog we had of old in the breed. His ring presence is second to none. He has a good handsome masculine head of good proportion, good pigmentation, warm eye correct width of skull with weld held ear at all times. Well placed strong neck into developed wither. A dog with correct lay of shoulder, good fore leg of correct length and good feet.
Loved his depth of body with well ribbed chest giving good depth of brisket. Stood and on the move he holds a good level top line with uninterrupted tail set. He has well angulated powerful but not overdone super rear quarters. Moved well at all times fore, aft and in side profile.
Attentive at all time to the handler it was hard to pick between him and the dog CC winner as he pushed really hard. Pleased to award him the reserve and on another day it could have gone the other way.
I predict this dog will make top honours – and soon.
2nd – Wilkins’s Salvadorada Heads Will Roll (JW)
This is a really nice dog of obvious quality that unfortunately did not today have the ring presence of first that would complete the overall picture.
A handsome liver dog with good masculine head that has a soft expression. I liked his make and shape. A dog who is well pigmented with warmest of eye and correct colour, correct length of muzzle and nice width of skull. His ear is well broken and correctly placed and held well. Strong but not overdone length of neck, good wither and lay of shoulder, correct length and level top line. He has good depth of brisket with well proportioned spring of rib. Good
rear end with well rounded quarters, good length of hock and nice bend of stifle. Overall picture of this dog is sound, well rounded and honest.
3rd – Chance and Dodds Apache Dream Catching for Dotlun

1st – Robbins & Hensman’s Ch Jasquarella Edge of Winter at Palouse - Dog CC
This dog never missed a beat a beat today. He never stopped shouting ‘look at me’ from the moment he entered the ring. Great ring presence. He looked fresh and up for it from the get go.
I have given him a class before and his development has not disappointed me and was pleased to offer him the Dog Challenge Certificate.
An honest black dog that shows and does what a Dalmatian does – shows, moves and has presence. He is masculine but with refinement. Good head with pleasing expression and dark bespectacled eye. Good width of head retaining masculinity with well placed – to die for – spotted ear. A well inserted elegant neck with correct lay of shoulder and strong wither. He has a good front with moderate bone not overdone in any way. A dog with a well sprung rib, good depth of brisket and correct length of loin. He held his top line through the class and has a good well rounded rear end that is well angulated with correct turn of stifle.
He moves true at all times displaying drive and control – measured but in control at all times which is a credit to his handler. He gave his best and it gave him the Dog Challenge Certificate.
2nd – Christie’s Ch Sophspot Gold Dust (JW)
This is a dog of quality that was unfortunate to meet first who on the day looked slightly ‘fresher’. The archetypal Dalmatian that you could write the breed standard from. He is the most lovely liver dog who is everything you could ever want in a well balanced dog of quality that you can’t fault. He looks the picture, moves as a Dalmatian should and does not disappoint. Ticks in all the boxes for me.
A dog of correct size and proportion he has a handsome head of correct size and proportion. Warm expression with lovely colour eye and beautiful ear held well by lovely held neck of correct neck that is not overdone. He has good shoulder placement with balanced chest, good front bone and tight feet. A well balanced and proportioned body having good depth of brisket, spring of rib, correct length of loin and levelest of top line which was held throughout his time in the ring. He has a well set croup with perfect tail set. Good angulation well rounded rear quarters and correct turn of stifle and correct length of hock.
He is a picture on the move being so true fore and aft with control and drive at the same time. As with other classes and such with this, placing first and second could easily have been reversed.
3rd – Whincup’s Tamilanda Air Force One
Veteran Dog (2)
1st Hopkins’s Ch Rapanooey Red Rose
Such a quality dog who is balanced and another who shouts at you. Definitely a worthy champion.
A good upstanding black dog in top condition with decoration to die for well distributed on his body. A handsome dog with good head, darkest of eye and balanced proportion held well by strong neck of correct length and placement. He has a well laid shoulder, good strong front and fore chest sadly lacking in some. A proportionate well balanced body having well sprung rib, good length of loin proffering a body of correct length and balance. Well set croup and tail set held well stood and on the move. Another top winner with well rounded quarters, correct turn of stifle and good angulation.
He moves with drive and purpose and is as true as it gets both going and coming and never gave up showing. He really is a nice dog.
Good Citizen Dog – No of Dogs (3) 1st – Burke’s Hafweena Red Viper
Well coupled black dog with naughty expression and spotty face. He is well pigmented with good dark eye good muzzle and correct stop. A dog that did not want to disappoint his owner giving his all. He stood, showed and moved with enthusiasm and vigour.
A dog with a good head with pleasing expression, good length of neck held well into a developing front. A shorter coupled dog with good spring of rib, fore chest and developing wither. He is well decorated nicely distributed and of a dog of good body balance. He moves with drive and vigour having good well muscled quarters and good angulation. A dog who is at one with his handler moving freely and unrestricted at correct pace despite the floor surface. He is a ‘work in progress’ dog meaning the foundation is there and developing nicely
2nd – Sampson’s Dalstorm Golden Guinea (JW)
Quality dog that one likes to see in make and shape who is not overdone in anyway. He is a well rounded dog of good substance.
A black dog with a pleasing head and expression that has the blackest pigment, good eye colour, nice width of skull with well placed and carried ear – quite a handsome chap really.
In general he is of a compact shape with good sturdy structure. He has a good length of neck placed correctly with good shoulder and well developed fore chest. Loved the strength in his forearm which follows through all of this dog displaying good all-round substance mentioned earlier. He has a good wither top line and tail set. Lovely rounded rear quarters showing strength with correct angulation good hocks and perfect feet.
Sadly he lost his placing on movement which I know he should be able to do having such a good body. His fore and aft movement are good, he moves freely but to complete the picture I think he could get top honours if moved a little faster.
Special Beginners – No of Dogs (5)
1st– Evans’s Hafwenna Pie Kid You Not for Trolkadal Winner Minor Puppy Dog
2nd– Dalamanti Morning Sunshine
This is a dog of quality with all the traits of good make and shape for a youngster – sadly he just doesn’t know it yet. A well made dog that with more ring presence I feel could do better. He just needs to get shouting ‘look at me’ attitude.
He has a handsome head with good muzzle length and width. Loved his pigment and spotty face good flat skull with well place broken ear, darkest eye. A dog with a good swan neck that he carries well into a well made and developed shoulder. He has a good front with fore chest of good width displaying strength. Well off for spring of rib and depth of brisket, nice length of back to good rear quarters and strong hock developing second thigh nicely.
He moves good and true but just needs to be a little more animated stood and moving. Moving a little faster may give the drive in his rear quarters I am sure he has but again, like so many dogs today, they didn’t like the surface with it being slippery and are cautious.
Bitches
Minor Puppy Bitch – No of Dogs (8)
1st – Wright’s Millbelle Helena ~ (Best Puppy)
How I liked and was taken with this little girl. She is a lovely liver bitch that had all the ring presence and movement you could have asked for in one so young. She stood out with purposeful true movement displaying fantastic front reach.
A pleasing feminine head nicely decorated with good liver pigmentation and good warm eye colour. Correct length of muzzle nice width of skull with well set on broken ear. Holds her head well on a nice length of neck set into a developing shoulder and wither. She has correct width of chest, good foreleg and bone which is not overdone. Nice depth of brisket with developing spring of rib. Good length of back and correct continuation of tail set which was carried well at all times. Good bend of stifle and developing second thigh which drove her through her movement.
Please to offer her best puppy award
2nd – Howard Riddle’s Shydally Stars Aligned
How unlucky this little girl was to meet first. I can see much vying for first place between these two in the future. First place had the ring presence today but this girl will have her day and a promising future I’m sure.
This is a really nice quality black bitch that had the most perfect decoration for me. She is so well made, a bitch of correct size, overall shape with god bone that shouts at you. A bitch with a pretty feminine head displaying blackest pigment reflected in her eye colour. Good width of scull with nicely set ears that are again well decorated. Strong feminine neck of substance well set into good wither and correct shoulder placement. She has a good front of correct width, good foreleg and well set pastern. A bitch of correct coupling having deep chest, good spring of rib and correct length of loin. She has a good turn of stifle and developing rear quarter.
A bitch with good true movement fore and aft with a nice spring to her carriage. She is a bitch of obvious quality and one to keep your eye on.
3rd – Collier’s Offerdale Jazz

1st – Stubbins’s Perdita’s Bean a Stormy Ride
An elegant black feminine bitch of good size with good head proportion, well set on ear held well to frame her face nicely offering the desired expression. She has a well placed good length of neck that is held well stood and on the move. Good width chest with nice depth of brisket having good length of rib. Holds a good level top line with back of good length and good tail set. Moderate bend of stifle and well muscled hind quarter. Won this class on movement and ring presence today. She was true in all aspects of her movement with driving rear hind action and true front.
2nd– Donnelly’s Tamilanda Golden Leaf
A lovely made liver bitch with nice feminine head. A bitch that is maturing nicely with good head, eye, good width of skull with ear carriage that is giving the desired perfect attentive expression. She is of correct build with good substance. Good neck that is held well set into developing withers with good length of back and loin. Would like a little more tuck up as in First to complete the picture. Good depth of chest, good front that is held moving, she has a good spring of rib on a classic decorated liver body. She has good positive movement for one so young today but would like to see the drive that First had to complete her picture.

1st – Stubbins’s Perdita’s Bean a Stormy Ride
First place in Puppy Bitch
2nd – Wilkins’s Salvadorada Just for Us
Another nice well constructed bitch but didn’t quite have to ring presence of First today. She has soft pleasing expression. Correct length of muzzle and nice width of skull, well set and used ear. She has a lovely balanced shape with good angulation, good arch and length of neck and a well sprung rib, correct length of loin, good top line and well set croup. Well
developed rear quarters showing good angulation that drove her well on the move. S he has good true movement with good ground coverage.

Yearling Bitch – No of Dogs (1)
1st – Hurst’s Dvojica Firefly for Finnidal (JW) Bitch CC
Well today she came and she conquered. For me this is a bitch who is still ‘work in progress’ and is developing into a bitch of outstanding quality that will be hard to better at future events.
A black bitch that fills the frame beautifully with correct size and balanced proportion both stood and on the move. Blackest pigment who is well decorated throughout. She carries her head so proudly with great feminine expression. Good length and size of muzzle, correct stop, good width of skull to well placed and held ear. Head held majestically on a good length of neck well set into good wither, correct angulated front, good front with good width of chest. Nice length of leg with correct pastern. She has a good deep chest with well sprung rib, perfectly coupled with good length of loin. Levelest of top lines well held stood and moving. She has well developed muscular – but not overdone – rear quarter, good turn of stifle and length of hock. Tail is well set on and carried well at all times.
Today and even on this floor she moved and drove true at all times covering the ground as if she floated around the ring. Pleased to award her Bitch Challenge and Best of Breed – she rightly deserved it today.
2nd– Christie’s Sophspot Sugar Plum
Found it hard to choose between First and Second here as another bitch of great quality and so hard and little to choose between them. I think First had it on the driving movement today.
At one with her handler she presents a well structured well made bitch that is decorated beautifully. When you look at her she looks balanced and of correct proportion with much to like about her. She has one of the nicest heads I have seen today with good soft feminine expression, balanced proportion, correct muzzle width and length, correct breadth to her skull, well held well proportioned and decorated ear. Strong neck at insertion to good strong developed wither and carrying correct top line. Shorter loin than First, strong rear quarter but not overly – nicely rounded with good angulation, stifle and correct hock. Stood she presents a great fore chest, good strong well muscled front shoulder which is where she wins for me with good spring and length of rib. Watch out for this girl, another rising star I’m sure
3rd – Quayle’s Cubalibre Wishing Star Graduate - Bitch No of Dogs –(7)
1st – Bryder’s Diocletian Aberfeldy
Nice quality well made black and decorated bitch of balanced shape and proportion. Nice head of good width, correct eye, well held and broken ear. She has a good length of neck that is well set into a good wither and balanced front and good shoulder of correct lay. Well sprung rib of good depth, nice length back and good length of loin. She is a well angulated bitch with correct turn of stifle and length of hock. There is much to like about this bitch who does everything asked of her especially on the move who was a clear winner in this class as she drove with great tail carriage. Worth keeping an eye on this girl as she has good ring presence
2nd – Tingey’s Dallydor White Magnolia (JW)
I did like this liver bitch but sadly didn’t have the ring presence that First had today. She is well pigmented with classic liver spotting. Good head with attentive expression and spotty face. She has correct eye colour, muzzle width and length, good skull of correct width with well held ear that are nicely decorated. Good length of neck into well placed shoulder of correct lay. Good front and fore leg with developing shoulder and good lay of pastern. She has a developed wither with good length of back and nicely angled croup offering a nice tail set. Good body of correct length with good depth of chest and spring of rib. She has developing rear quarter, with turn of stifle. She moves truly fore and aft at good pace covering the ground well.
3rd – Stevenson’s Dallyador White Snowflake at Macula
Post Graduate - Bitch No of Dogs –(9) 1st – Burrows’s Shacarlu Bee Happy
This is a bitch I have always liked but today I don’t think she was enjoying the environment. A quality bitch of some order with everything one would want and one that was at one with her handler. She is a bitch in such top form for condition and one of those dogs you don’t need to put a hand on to see condition and form. A bitch of correct size and balance with good feminine head of good proportion and nice kind eye. She has a good width skull with well placed ear carried well and attentive. Good neck into well placed shoulder with strong well developed wither. She has a great lay of shoulder, well muscled and good fore chest, good foreleg and well laid pastern. She has a well balanced and proportionate body that not only looks correct but is correct having great depth of brisket, great spring of rib well set loin of correct length giving her the balanced look. A good level top line with correct croup, tail set and carriage that is always well carried. Well muscled 1st and 2nd thigh, good bend of stifle and strong hock of correct length. S he moves well with drive and purpose. A bitch with a very positive future.
2nd – Jenkins & Ridgeway’s Luccombe Strawberry Ripple
Another bitch in top condition that did everything asked of her. Unfortunate to meet first in this class. Preferred decoration on First but that is not to take away anything from this liver
bitch of correct colour. She has a lovely pleasing expression with good pigmentation, expressive eye of correct colour, correct width of skull being framed with nicely broken ear that were always well held. Well Placed shoulder set into nicely balanced good length of neck and nicely muscled font quarter. Level top line with good tail set and carriage. She has good spring of rib, strong loin and well rounded rear quarter having good bend of stifle. Would like a little more ‘tuck up’ to complete her overall picture but this could be just the way she was stood as all she wanted to do was please the handler. She moves with great drive, true fore and aft moving freely with good length of stride.
3rd – Townson & Pardoe’s Sophtspot Phantasia for Daymadals
Limit Bitch – No of Dogs (15)
1st – Collier’s Kallierbelle Ceithir (JW)
Nice bitch that is not overdone in anyway. She is a well portioned bitch of correct size and balanced aspect. Would prefer more decoration but that is not to take away anything for this sound bitch. She has a good head with gentle expression; good width head held well with good length of neck set into a strong wither. A good forefront and well muscled front shoulder, correct fore leg and well turned pastern. She has a good deep brisket with good spring of rib. Longer in loin but correctly balanced with levelist of top lines from head to tail, correct well set croup and tail set. Well angulated, good rear quarters with great turn of stifle. Good to go over, one who moves so well and without error, true fore and aft with good drive from her rear quarter
2nd– Dinsdale and Pickup’s Dotlun English Rose at Roadcoach
I had this bitch in first place but she seemed a little erratic today and a little fidgety. She is a liver bitch of obvious quality with decoration to die for. I loved her make and shape where she displayed nice balance. A bitch with a divine spotted face, well pigmented with beautiful warm eye of correct colour. I really liked her head shape which is well balanced having correct length and width of muzzle, nice stop and well rounded skull. Good ear held and set well. She has a strong well set neck of correct length and well rounded fore chest of correct width and having well muscled fore leg of correct length. Another with good well sprung rib with great depth of brisket, good length of loin with nice ‘tuck up’. Strong well muscled wither with good level top line nice croup and good tail set. She has well muscled quarters with good turn of stifle and correct length of hock that completes that balanced look she has.
First had her on movement for drive today but again, many didn’t seem to like the floor. Still she covered the ground without question with a lovely flowing action.

1st – Alexander’s Offerdale Santini - Res CC
You only have to look at this bitch to see she shouts quality. She puts ticks in all boxes for me. However she, like others didn’t seem happy moving and again probably due to slippery floor surface. She could have taken the Bitch Challenge easily if only she moved with a little more pace and vigour. Outstandingly stunning bitch with perfectly decorated body of balance and proportion presented in gleaming condition. She has a good head with good muzzle correct stop, good width of skull, ear of correct size well held and decorated. Now the body and this is where she wins on balance and proportion. She has a nicely arched well held neck of correct length that is well set into a good well laid shoulder having well developed wither. She has a good fore chest of good width. Well muscled front leg of correct length and well angulated pastern. Deep chest with good spring of rib, correct length of loin with lovely tuck up. From wither to croup she has good level top line with correct tail set. Loved her rear angulation held by strong well rounded rear quarters and nicely angulated rear hock. Pleased to award her the Reserve Bitch Challenge Certificate.
2nd – White’s Ch & Ir Ch Sophtspot La De Da at Belsmard
Black bitch who was giving her all for the handler moved with purpose and drive and it would have been nice to see her move in a larger ring. She has a pretty face with head of good balanced proportion having good pigment and eye colour. Feminine muzzle of correct length, ears set well and used to enhance her expression. Longer in neck which is held well at all times into correct lay of shoulder and good clean front with correct feet. She has a good top line and rib set presenting a nice coupling with good rear angles having correct turn of stifle and hock length all with a nicely decorated body. Tail set correct that flows at all times to complete her picture. She is quality assured.

Good feminine neck in to nice shoulder placement with strong well defined but not overdone front and nice feet. Clean faced lovely feminine head with muzzle to skull ratio nicely balanced with ears set correctly and used to advantage. Good swan neck with correct place of shoulder with well developed front. She has ribs which are well sprung and good depth of chest. Tail set correctly with good croup and rear angulation are good with correct turn of stifle. Not seen this girl before and overall a pleasing bitch but would like a little more ring presence to complete her. She has a nice shape to her head with lovely shape to her muzzle with correct stop and good width to skull. Ears with correct placement held well to frame her pretty expression. Strong well muscled neck with good set and correct lay of shoulder. Well defined front shoulder muscle and nice width to front with good bone to leg and nice feet. She is a well sprung bitch with good depth of brisket, well set wither with good level top line of correct length to round off her balance. Croup set on correctly with good tail carriage. Rear angles are all good being well muscled and correct stifle.
3rd – Penn’s Dalarisa Spring in her Step Special Beginners – No of Dogs (8)
1st– Wilkins’s Salvadorada Her Highness
Really liked this bitch that has quality stamped over her. To be hypercritical I would like to see a pinch more weight on her but still, an outstanding bitch of correct colour and the most beautiful decoration. Won this class easily giving her all on movement which showed freedom, purpose and drive and was totally attentive to her handler. A liver bitch of correct colour and type that pleases the eye with beautiful decoration. She has a lovely head of nice proportion nicely decorated with well held ear carriage. Would like better nose pigment but great expression and correct eye colour. Stood you cannot fault her balance and proportion having well muscled strong neck placed correctly into a lovely lay of shoulder. Good well rounded front of correct width, good forearm with nice feet. She has a great depth of brisket with nicely sprung rib and perfect length of loin leading to well rounded and muscled hind quarter, correct turn of stifle and good length of hock. Beautiful level top line held throughout with well set tail from correct set croup. Moved with purpose and was totally true.
2nd – Bradley’s Hafweena Valyria at Melectabee
Black bitch of correct size that was unfortunate to meet first. Two completely different girls of different type. She has a pleasing feminine head that is again of balance with lovely dark
eye and full spectacles. Good width of skull, nicely decorated and placed ears giving her a very sweet feminine expression. A balanced body of good coupling with shorter neck than First correctly set with good shoulder placement and nicely developed wither. Good spring of rib and correct strong loin well placed croup and nicely muscled rear quarters, good bend of stifle. She has a good level top line which was held well on the move being true fore and aft.
