ALASKAN MALAMUTE RICHMOND CHAMP SHOW 6.09.2024 My thanks must go to my 2 Stewards and all my entrants for making the best of a dismal day weather wise. Torrential rain left the outside ring mostly unusable and the small inside area available (including holes and hazard tape) ensured creative shapes to see as much movement as possible. My sympathies go to the delightful Show Management who were truly tried, at one of the prettiest venues on the circuit when we are blessed with nice weather PUPPY DOG (2) 1st Finan Marahootay Dance Wiv Wolves BPIB Grey 9 month old substantial male that needs to tighten, as would be expected at this age. Large ear, OK head, masculine but needs to continue to break, smooth mover, strong topline, Ok tail set and carriage, feet need to become stronger (vary exercise surface including gravel), won BP due to clearer malamute attributes 2nd Facer Chayo Unlock The Power 9 month old, strong male, his power makes him hard to handle and as he can’t stride out he short steps and paces too much, neat typey head, needs to strengthen in topline, good bone, good overall shape, happy temperament, good tail set (and tail which wags happily) YEARLING DOG (1) 1st Hooley Black Stripe at Dokkalfar Very compact 18 month old, probably a touch too small all round, neat mover but lacking drive and reach on side gait, clean on out & back, pretty expressive facial features, shown in good condition LIMIT DOG (1) 1st Finan Marahootay Standing Bear with Chayo 4 year old grey, well-muscled mature male, but lacks precision on move, ok head, good overall shape, good temperament, ok for coat, good shoulder, good pasterns and feet OPEN DOG (2) 1st Jelfs CH Lapema Malizioso CC BOB This male is absolutely on fire currently and it was a pleasure to Judge him today and add to his ever-growing tally of tickets. Rising 5 he is fully finished, and he flaunts this. Super head giving a pretty but still masculine look, very focused, good overall balance, moved true and powerfully, coped with everything the weather and ring through at him, waving plumed tail well set on, great bone, excellent feet, well presented, good coat, very little to dislike, needs weight kept correct to stop show best movement 2nd Brandenberg & Smith Chayo it's Kurt for Taronakits JW RCC 3 year old, large boy, again beautifully mature and handled so well, good bone, strong topline, good stride and true mover, strong head, not as overall masculine as 1st and I’m not as keen on his coat SPECIAL BEG DOG (2) 1st Facer Chayo Unlock the Power BSB 2nd Hooley Black Stripe at Dokkalfar PUPPY B (3) 1st Patrick Okinastar Destiny Calling at Coldasice won class overall on presentation and handling, whilst she is pretty as a picture, there is just not enough of her for me, neat mover but lacks ground coverage, true on out and back, good angulation and balance, classically pretty head, good tail and set, too fine in bone 2nd Hooley Bartkennels Ljosalfar again too small a package, good condition, pretty head although needs to grow into ears, ok on move, 3rd Hooley Bartkennels Magic Soho probably the best of the class, but couldn’t go over her well enough, better size all round, balanced construction, good feet, please work on her to get her more ring confident JUNIOR B (1) 1st Patrick Okinastar Destiny Calling at Coldasice YEARLING B (1) 1st Jelfs Chayo High Jinks with Lapema RCC Surprise of the day! Really nice 19 month old grey, bit affected by noise and surroundings, but showed enough, with good handling, to win her first green card. Good on out and back, longer cast than some, but uses to advantage with ground covering strides, pretty head, not in full coat, good muscling and strength in bone, could have used tail better if more settled, will watch with interest as she matures NOVICE B (1) 1st Patrick Okinastar Destiny Calling at Coldasice POST GRAD B (2) 1st Brown Rumba Vasilyev Ostrov for Cupun (Imp Ukr) Very pretty and well-schooled, smaller size again and although balanced overall slightly low on leg for my desired look.. Tidy mover but lacks scope on go around 2nd Finan Marahootay Snow Bird 4 year old, very rangy and I would prefer more strength in overall structure, with more bone for size, although she wasn’t happy today, put in an OK performance LIMIT B (1,1A) OPEN B (1) 1st Brown Cupin's Masterpiece CC Strong female, now in full prime and I understand only just coming back into showable condition. She looked a picture today and did enough to nail her Crown – well done! Not in full coat but covered enough, strong mature body with good bone and a nice tail, good outline, mature head, inquisitive expression, at one with her handler. Clean out and back and effortless side gait, covering the ring well, would like a slightly better stifle rear but overall a great picture SPECIAL BEG B (2) 1st Hooley Bartkennels Ljosalfar 2nd Hooley Bartkennels Magic Soho JUDGE SARAH ROBINSON (RIGRUNNER)
