A pleasing entry considering the way numbers are going and there was no shortage of quality so my winners really pleased me.
Puppy Dog (4) 1. Rostron-Parker’s Rosparquier's Late Edition, 6 months full of quality with a very pleasing head and expression, nicely balanced outline with moderate angulation and he moved true out and back, holding himself with great poise for a baby. 2. Rankin’s Wildax The Real Mccoy, 6 months again with a look of quality. Well balanced head with firm underjaw but a little longer cast than 1 and needs to drop into his rear. Moved smartly if not quite as true going away as 1. 3. Harkins’ Kiarzo Side by Side.
Junior Dog (1) 1. Keenan’s Chelmbull Return of The Mac at Nerros, 16 months and a very impressive young male with beautiful angulation showing correct topline and tailset. Fit and hard, he has a very appealing forehand with lovely expression but on the move just didn’t settle as I am sure he will with maturity.
Graduate Dog (1) 1. Roulston’s Ivyjewel Put A Light On Me, junior dog with a look of quality and a well balanced outline. Quality head which could be stronger in underjaw but he has a nicely crested neck, firm topline and good angulation of both front and rear. Could have gone away a little more positively but he has time on his side.
Post Graduate Dog (1) 1. Wildman & Davis’ Wildax Rowendale Stan Francisco, another junior and a real showman with a stallion look about him. Quality head of good proportions - if he could have a slightly darker eye – very eye-catching outline and a real showman who stood free for his capable handler. Moved steadily.
Limit Dog (4) 1. Roulston’s Ivyjewel Dare to Dream, beautifully conditioned and well handled to throw out a very striking outline. Masculine head of good proportions and used his ears well. Front and feet could improve. 2. Mair’s Glenauld American Sniper, has a look of quality but this youngster looked a little leggy by comparison as he needs to fill out his frame. Essentially typical head and he acquitted himself well on the move. 3. Simmons’ Wildax Stravinsky at Kaladash.
Open Dog (5) 1. CC & BOB, Ward’s Wildax Liverpool Lover of Frenbosen, on the day this was the whole package for me. Handsome dog full of type and quality with a gorgeous head and expression, well-padded cheeks, wide muzzle and correct dentition. Clean, well arched neck leading into the smartest of well-balanced outlines with excellent angulation and a beautifully conditioned body where everything was “all of a piece”. Looked a picture standing and moved with great style and rear drive when his handler let him relax. Well deserved his breed win and looked a picture in the Group where he was shortlisted. 2. & RCC, Rankin’s Ch Wildax The Real Thing, fully mature of excellent overall type and his rear movement is exceptional. Has all the basics but on the day I could not get past the outstanding head qualities of his son. 3. Winrow’s Jayneze Hubber Bubber.
Puppy Bitch (4) 1. & Best Puppy, Kennedy’s Antrix Sukey Tawdry, 8 months so full of quality. Beautiful head which is full of type yet so feminine. Scores so heavily in outline which is clean, well-balanced and shows excellent conformation with ideal angulation throughout. Moved so well for her age and well deserved her win. I am sure she has a great future. 2. Kennedy’s Antrix Miss Lotte Lenya at Popinix, litter sister and the same basic stamp with arguably an even better head but she couldn’t match 1 in angulation of front or rear. 3. Weaver’s Kiarzo I See Stars.
Junior Bitch (1) Rankin & Spenser’s Wildax Shut That Door, 17 months with a smart, well-balanced outline which emphasises excellent angulation and a well-rounded rump. Clean, elegant neck, quality head but needs to strengthen in pastern and tighten in front.
Yearling Bitch (4) 1. & RCC, Simmons’ Lovewell Gem of The Sea at Kaladash, loved this 20 months bitch who was so well made and put together. Not the most glamorously marked but when she set herself up she threw out a most impressive outline with moderate angles all through and a correct topline. Lovely head and expression with neat, well set and carried ears and excellent finish of mouth and muzzle. Moving she was one of the best here. 2. Mair’s Glenauld Indiana, 18 months and more flashy than 1, a real showgirl through and through with pleasing head type even though she was feeling the heat. Could have a little more length of upper arm but still managed to move quite true. 3. Jefferson & Smith’s Lovewell No Regrets.
Graduate Bitch (2) 1. Mccallum’s Burlesk Liza with A Zee, cobby bitch, very much all of a piece and in beautiful condition with a quality head and excellent ears. Set up she throws out a very clean well-proportioned outline with well-set tail. Handled herself steadily on the move. 2. Roulston’s Ivyjewel Put A Spell On You, totally different in so many ways this bitch being rather more rangy, shorter-ribbed and not so true in front. Feminine head with good finish of mouth. Not as together on the move as 1.
Post Graduate Bitch (1) 1. Hamlin’s Devotoblaze Hope's Miracle JW, light brindle who on the stack had an eye-catching outline and was handled to perfection. Clean, well balanced head but neater ears would improve the overall expression. On the move her topline seemed rather tense.
Limit Bitch (5) 1. Scott’s Aprika Fargo at Rudino JW, this bitch really catches the eye with such a striking outline that flows and shows up her excellent conformation, angulation and ideal substance. Makes a very pleasing overall package but a slightly larger eye I felt would be the icing on the cake of a very well-proportioned head. Such a sound and collected mover. 2. Kane’s Yakee Sun Queen, flatteringly marked with a look of quality but not quite as well coupled or angulated as 1. Very satisfying head and expression, could be a little stronger in pastern and on the move she lacked the enthusiasm of 1. 3. Rankin’s Wildax You to Me.
Open Bitch (4) 1. & CC, Rostron-Parker’s Davebos Gone with The Wind to Rosparquier, at four years of age I was surprised this lovely bitch was not already a Champion as I liked her enormously and she caught my eye from the start. Excellent head type full of expression, nicely crested neck and her outline was positively statuesque when she set herself up. So compact and well balanced, flatteringly marked and beautifully conditioned, she was completely at one with her handler and moved in harmony with her, showing purpose and drive. I felt that she matched the Dog CC winner so well and was delighted to hear since that she carries the crown she so richly deserves. 2. Parker & Martin’s Otherston Celia Deal by Olleyville, mature bitch so full of type with a lovely head if her ears could be neater. In beautiful condition and so well handled, she just lacked the overall compactness of 1 but she made the best of herself on the move. 3. Cund’s Chelmbull Double Trouble.
