North West Golden Retriever Club Championship Show – 1 April 2024

Dogs

Congratulations to the Committee for all their hard work in ensuring the show was well run. A lovely new venue with good sized rings providing the dogs plenty of room to move. It was an honour to be invited to judge and I thoroughly enjoyed my day. Thank you to my ring stewards who were very efficient in ensuring the day ran smoothly.

I was pleased with the overall quality of my entry especially in the higher classes so thank you to the exhibitors for the opportunity to judge them.

The awards for BIS, RBIS and BOS was decided by the referee due to a conflict of interest. My co-judge and I agreed on BPIS going to the dog and BVIS to the bitch.

Baby Puppy Dog (1,0)

1st Holmes’ Ashbyglen Excalibur

5 month old puppy who stood alone in the class but worthy of a first place. He has a pleasing head and expression. Nice reach of neck and well placed shoulders; he was a little bum high today but that stage should pass. A happy boy on the move taking everything in his stride.

1st Loverock & Waldron-Smith’s Lovissa Space Dust ShCM VW

Mid gold boy in good coat and condition. Pleasing head and expression with good reach of neck into well placed shoulders, short coupled, well boned and straight front. Level topline which was kept on the move.

2nd Towers & Henderson’s Ch Alibren Galileo to Westervane JW SGWC
