Best in Show.

I would like to thank the officers and committee of PDFA for their invitation to judge at this friendly and well-run show, and for the warm welcome that I received. The line up that faced me had some super examples of their breed. Thank you to the breed and group judges for sending these dogs forward.

My Best in Show winner was Cole’s Welsh Terrier Ch Perrisblu The Phantom. This chap has a super attitude to life, fearless, happy and a hint of mischievousness, giving that little something extra to attract one’s attention. He is solidly built and in the most fabulous condition. Masculine throughout without any hint of coarseness. Super head piece with well placed ears, used well and fitting closely to his cheeks. Small dark eyes giving that typical expression. Put together beautifully with everything flowing and fitting neatly together. His coat and presentation are superb, wiry, hard and fitting close to the body. On the move he is true on the out and back with good carriage in profile and certainly full of attitude and style. It was my pleasure to award him BIS.

Reserve Best In Show was Green and Ratcliffe’s Border Collie Sh Ch Fayken I Am Here JW. This black and white bitch presents a very well balanced outline. Full of quality and type, she is understated and flows from nose to tail. Feminine and well proportioned head with an alert expression, you can see she is up for the job in hand. Very good front assembly and another who was in superb muscular condition throughout. Her rear is well developed with the correct angulation, this was evident on the move. When she set off on the out and back she had a precise and accurate footfall, true at all times. In profile action she came alive with her typical head carriage, holding her outline perfectly and that daisy cutting action. She flowed around the ring with the minimal of effort. After the final run off I could not deny her Reserve Best in Show.
