Thank you to the committee for the invitation to judge at this very welcoming show. `I was delighted with the entry and the quality, it certainly paid off for the society to take the initiative of running their Open Show alongside the Championship Show.

Veteran Dog

1st Casemates Gandalf

Clean in outline with a masculine head of good proportions and a clean skull. Ears well placed ears which enhanced his expression. Strong neck leading to a well made front assembly, enough return of forearm and a straight front. Good bone and neat feet. Well ribbed back to a short loin and a correct set on tail. Good rear assembly. Paced to begin with on the move but once in his stride he had an accurate footfall. Best Veteran in Show.

2nd Olleyville Stanley Man At Whirlobox

Dark brindle who presents an appealing head and expression, slightly cheeky compared to one. Good reach of neck, not the fill in front as Gandalf. Straight legs and neat feet. Good spring of rib and ribs well back , could do with a shade more weight throughout. Good quarters which were well angulated and firm in muscular condition. Moved well in profile holding his shape.

Strong arched neck and well made front assembly, depth to his chest and well ribbed back. Square in appearance and stands over ground. Gentle slope to his topline and good finish to the croup. Quarters developing well. Playful on the move but I could see he had an accurate footfall and covers the ground in profile.

2nd Glenauld The Chase

Super crest to his neck and well placed shoulders, filling in well in front. Chest deep and well ribbed back to a short loin. Good finish to the croup and well set on tail. Well bent stifles and a good width to his second thing. Not as coordinated in front action today but this will come with age, I’m sure.

Had an accurate footfall with a driving and open side gait.
