Thank you to the Leeds committee for inviting me to judge my third CC appointment in the breed. The ring was well sized and provided for some shade on a very warm day. Thank you to all the exhibitors, I was pleased with the overall quality of all exhibits. It was a pleasure to watch my winners represent the breed so well in the groups and I was delighted to see my Best Veteran in Breed awarded Group 3 and my Best Puppy in Breed shortlisted in their group. The impact of Covid still seems very evident, with limited representation in the more junior breed classes, hopefully more youngsters will start to come through soon.

OD (8). Very strong class. 1. Charleton’s Ch House Of Softy Indus (imp Swe) Shcex. One I have judged before and previously awarded a RCC – it was a pleasure to see him again today with a further couple of years of maturity and I was not disappointed. So much to like about him from his correct coat/ colour to his construction and movement. Square outline with good reach of neck, level topline & well placed tailset. Lovely head, correct mouth and pleasing expression. Covered the ring with ease. Pleasure to award him the CC and BOB. 2. Clarke’s Flaxela Illuminati (ai) JW. Another one I have judged before as a junior and who has continued to mature nicely. Much to like about him; good size and sound construction, well muscled and a pleasure to watch on the move, he clearly enjoys a grass ring! Pushed hard for the top honours and a pleasure to award him the RCC. 3. Patterson’s Ch Snowmeadow Sauls Symphony To Gavleash.

VD (1). Williams’ Flaxela Living Legend Of Gwendonydd. Full of personality and character, well presented. Sound construction, good pigmentation. Moved well, covered the ring with ease. Stood alone but more than deserving, a pleasure to award him BVIB. Loved watching him on the move again later on in the big ring, was delighted to see him go Group 3 in the Terrier Veteran Group.

SBD/B (1). 1. Walsh’s Crofftysofty Hay Siri. Lovely natured 15 month old bitch. Some maturing still to do in size and coat. Full of character, was enjoying her day, moved well. BSBIB.

PB (1) 1. Grimes-Watson & Watson’s Keevasdream Purple Bliss For Spudler. This puppy is one to watch – full of character and mischief just as she should be, and superb on the move. Pleasing head, good pigmentation and soundly constructed. Well turned out and handled. Pleased to award her BPIB as well as the RCC. It was a pleasure to watch her strut her stuff in the big ring later in the day and to see her shortlisted in a strong puppy group.

JB (1). 1. Walsh’s Crofftysofty Hay Siri.

LB (5,1). 1. Munn’s Snowmeadow Treacle Toffee. Took my eye immediately – well presented, correct coat, good outline and fantastic mover. Certainly one to watch for the future, can see now she is the daughter of both CC winners today, so she has real quality behind her. 2. Hughlock’s Keevasdream Ballerina Blue Jw. Have seen before as a puppy and she has matured well, fabulous character and ring presence, moves well. Pleasing head and expression. Soundly constructed. Correct coat, well presented. 3. MacGregor’s Kirktonhill A Touch Of Snow ShCEx.

OB (8,1) Another very strong class and a pleasure to judge. 1. Munn’s Ch Snowmeadow Suzy Sixpence. The full package. Stood out immediately in the line up, so much to like about her. Correct coat, good pigmentation, well-constructed. Good reach of neck. Tail carried correctly. Fabulous movement, and lovely to see her happy character and enthusiasm on the move despite the warm day. Delighted to award her the CC, pushed hard in the challenge for BOB. 2. Howes’ Ch Flaxela Flirtini At Daisymaes Jw (ai). Another one I have judged before as a youngster and a pleasure to have the opportunity to see her again today in maturity. Very well presented, moved with drive and purpose. Soundly constructed, level topline and pleasing outline. Closely considered for the RCC. 3. Satherley’s Ch Silkcroft Never Miss A Beat.
