RICHMOND CHAMPIONSHIP DOG SHOW

Today was the first time I have judged in the UK and I enjoyed judging the good entry of Portuguese Podengo, both smooth coated and wire coated. The weather was wet and the ring surface was rough however most adapted and showed well.

Class 261 VD/B (2 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 423 SAMPSON, Mr Simon & SAMPSON, Mrs Anna Odisseia De Viamonte At Morialta (Imp) Port. Well balanced sturdy bitch, correct lean wedged shaped head with flat skull. Dark medium sized eyes and well-placed ears providing intelligent expression. Good muscle throughout, presented in good wire coat that had correct texture, level topline and correct angulation front and rear. Moved freely and showed well for her age.

2nd: 416 JUDGE, Mrs Betty Plushcourt Hallmark. Smooth coated dog up to size who did not move as well as the first placed. Wedged shaped head, moderate stop, well placed ears. Body longer than high. Coat smooth, short and dense, medium length tail set high and carried up sickle shaped.

Class 262 PD (2 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 411 CROCKFORD, Mr Nigel & CROCKFORD, Mrs Debby Befricas Kimchi At Belfalas ( Imp Nor ) Naf Taf. Smooth coated sturdy and strong dog with correct body proportions, longer than high. Balanced wedged shaped head, moderate dark eyes, bite was tight, strong neck, well laid shoulders, level topline, short dense coat, moved freely with tail up.

2nd: 418 JUDGE, Mrs Betty Plushcourt Grandee. Well muscled dog. Head lean, moderate stop, scissor bite and well-set ears. Strong neck, level topline, good front and rear angulation, I would prefer less length of body. Wired coated correct texture, moved freely however did not carry tail up today.

Class 263 JD (2 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 417 JUDGE, Mrs Betty Plushcourt Leprechaun. Sturdy, strong dog with typical wedged shaped lean head. Medium sized dark eyes and good expression, well placed ears. Strong neck, level topline, short dense smooth coat. Moved soundly with tail carried up and sickle shape.

2nd: 415 JUDGE, Mrs Betty Plushcourt Gospel Truth. Another strong dog and well balanced throughout, wedged shaped lean head and intelligent expression, good stop, well placed ears, strong neck, Level topline, good coat texture. Was not wishing to move around the ring today and also did not carry tail up.

1st: 425 SAMPSON, Mr Simon & SAMPSON, Mrs Anna & BROOKS, Mr Morialta Ferreira. Strong sturdy well-presented dog. Head balanced and lean, dark eyes, well placed ears with intelligent and pleasing expression. Strong neck, well laid shoulders, good depth of chest, level topline, well presented wire coat. Moved with purpose, free and lively.

2nd: 414 JUDGE, Mrs Betty Plushcourt Bear Witness. Well balanced with good body proportions. Head lean wedge shaped, dark moderate eyes, scissor bite, well placed ears and nice expression. Would prefer more substance and muscle throughout the body but good topline, good front and rear angulation. Moved free and true with good tail carriage.

Class 266 PB (2 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 410 CROCKFORD, Mr Nigel & CROCKFORD, Mrs Debby Belfalas Chance Meeting. Smooth coated alert bitch. Head balanced wedge shaped, dark eye, good ear placement. Good angulation front and rear, good depth of chest, level topline, smooth dense coat. Moved free and lively, keeping a level topline.

2nd: 409 CROCKFORD, Mr Nigel & CROCKFORD, Mrs Debby Belfalas Sea Breezes. Similar type to the first placed bitch nearly identical. Smooth coated, alert, lively, balanced, wedge shaped head, dark eyes, well placed ears. Good depth of chest, moved true and free however topline not as level on the move as first placed bitch.

Class 267 JB (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 408 CROCKFORD, Mr Nigel & CROCKFORD, Mrs Debby Belfalas Ladytron. Active balanced bitch with substance and good angulation. Head wedge shaped, dark moderate eyes, scissor bite, ears well placed and intelligent expression. Strong neck, well laid shoulders and good depth of chest. Moved freely and soundly. Tail correctly set, carried up sickle like.

Class 268 PGB (2 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 420 JUDGE, Mrs Betty Plushcourt Gibberish. Well balanced bitch presented in good coat. Head lean, well set ears, scissor bite. Good depth of chest, well laid shoulders and good angulation front and rear. Moved lively and free however would prefer topline to be more level on the move.

Class 269 OB (7 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 406 BRUNDLE, Mrs Susan Brundledean Giovana. Well balanced confident bitch. Balanced head, lean wedged shaped with intelligent and pretty expression. Moderate dark eyes, well set and sized ears. Strong neck, deep chest, strong body, tail well set, carried up sickle like. Good textured wire coat presented well. Alert, lively, swift and sound movement.

2nd: 407 CROCKFORD, Mr Nigel & CROCKFORD, Mrs Debby Plushcourt Gloriana At Belfalas. Smooth coated well portioned bitch. Head balanced, lean, wider at back skull coming to point at muzzle, well placed ears, and nice expression. Strong neck, well laid shoulders, deep chest, level topline. Moved true and sound.

3rd: 426 SEGUI, Mrs Eileen Anne Stormwitch Heirs And Graces At Arranbourne
