Breed: German Shepherd Dog
South Wales Kennel Association 2024 German Shepherd Dogs Many thanks to the GSD people for such a nice entry despite having no CC’s at this show and for all taking my placings in a very sporting manner. Junior Dog (1) 1. Fisher’s, Sannah Defender of Tomorrow, a well grown youngster, almost 9 months old. He has good strength to the body, good bone, with rich tan markings. He has a medium dark eye, one ear is still rather soft. Good flow from neck into a good topline. He needs to strengthen in the rear and can hold a better topline on the side gait. Post Graduate Dog (2) 1. Lemon’s, Solophina Floyd at Mitzahner, 4 years male, masculine head, would prefer a better muzzle line. Medium dark eye. Nice reach of neck onto a good topline. He has good bone, could stand better in front and I would like him stronger on the pastern. His angulations are balanced, he has good rich tan markings, moved freely could be stronger in the hocks moving away. Reserve Best Male. 2. Brown’s, Ardenburg Bix, 2 years old who is a very pleasing type, he has good strength to the head, with a nice eye and expression. Ears are well placed, good neck and topline. Good bone and he is good in the hocks moving away, however, he needs to have a stronger temperament for the show ring. Open Dog (3,1) 1. Hensley’s, Ch Desjiem Van De Herdersfarm, 5 years old, mature masculine dog with a lovely outline and good strength to the body. Pleasing head with a lovely eye, good neck flowing into an excellent topline, with good ribcage and he has excellent rich tan mrkings. He has good bone and feet, pasterns could be a touch stronger, he is well angulated front and rear. He is a good walker and is nicely balanced in the side gait, well presented and handled and excellent temperament. Pleased to award him the Best Male and Best of Breed and was nice to see him represent the breed so well in the group and to be placed fourth. 2. Jones’, Dakamar Amazing Journey, 4 years old long coat of good size. He has a masculine head, muzzle line falls away slightly. Nice eye, ears well carried, topline is OK, but loses shape on the move. He has good bone, I would like him stronger in the pastern and to have better feet. He can also be stronger in the hocks when walking, he has steady temperament. Junior Bitch (4,2) 1. Brown’s, Swnynant Isadora, 8 months old of pleasing type, developing nicely. She has a feminine head, but with good strength, nice eye and expression and ears are well carried. Good neck and strong topline, excellent bone and feet. She is a good walker and just needs to find balance in her side gait, handler might help by not trying to do things so fast with her while she is learning. Pleased to award her Reserve Best Bitch and Best Puppy in Breed. 2. Davies’, Wilczyjar Candy, 10 months old long coat, she is of nice size, pleasing head with nice dark eye, lips are a little loose. She has good bone and feet but she is weak on the pasterns. Angulations are balanced front and rear, she needs to strengthen in the hocks and could hold a better shape on the move. Post Graduate Bitch (4,2) 1. Brett’s, Chica Guapa of Blanik, 22 months of medium size, she has a feminine head with a medium dark eye. She has a nice flow from her neck into a good topline. She has good bone and feet, but I would prefer stronger pasterns. She walks ok, needs to improve in the front coming towards but she holds a very nice shape in her side gait. 2. Usherwood’s, Return Shamrock of Blanik, 22 months, nice size, feminine head, would like slightly better eye shape and her lips could be tighter. Good reach of neck, would prefer a better topline. She has good angulations front and rear and excellent rich tan markings. Would like to see her walk a little better. Open Bitch (4,2) 1. Brown’s, Swnynant Guiliana, 5 years old of good strength and substance. Presents a nice outline. Balanced head with medium dark eyes, ears are tall set high. Nice reach of neck onto a good topline. Good bone, I would prefer tighter feet and firmer pasterns. She walks well, could be a touch stronger in the hocks, holds a very nice shape on the move in profile, nice temperament, Best Bitch. 2. Usherwood’s, Return Shamrock of Blanik. Judge; Paul Lawless
