I would like to thank the committee of the Birmingham Dog Show Society for inviting me to judge and also my stewards for ably assisting me whilst judging.

SBD (4 Entries) Abs: 2

1st: Watson’s Newfangled Don't You Dare, male of pleasing quality, broad head, nice dark eye, good ear set, correct scissor bite. Straight front with good shoulders, correct length of back with well-built hindquarter, moved freely. Best Special Beginner

2nd: Scott’s, Sandbears Aerodynamics, young dog, still maturing, pleasing head type with correct eye and ear set. Strong neck set on good shoulders, straight front, good spring of rib, reasonable hindquarters, correct coat texture. Not as free moving as winner.

MPD (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: Leech’s Mileoak Hubble Bubble, promising puppy head developing nicely with pleasing eye and expression; well set ears, well-proportioned body, nice tight feet, carried tail well, moved steadily for one so young.

PD (4 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: Blake’s Sandbears Pole Position, a really nice well-balanced puppy. Lovely shape in profile from head to tail, nicely developing head, eyes with correct expression, good ear set and good reach of neck, nice straight front with level topline and good hindquarters, coat of correct texture, moved freely. Best Puppy dog and Best Puppy.

2nd: Kingham’s Nandobears Against All Odds, another nice puppy with all the right qualities. Head of correct construction, still developing, lovely expression with dark eyes, ears are neat and well set. Body balanced with well angulated rear end, coat of good texture, moved well.

3rd: Scott’s Sandbears Aerodynamics

JD (5 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: McDonald’s Shadowrise Fire And Ice, pleasing profile, broad skull, small dark clean eyes, neat ears and good dentition, neck of ample length, well laid shoulders, chest has good depth and width, firm topline leading to sound angulation with muscular thighs, correct tail set, coat in good condition with correct texture. Moved soundly.

2nd: Canning & Rennison’s Oukaya Forever Ursa Minor (Imp Fra), Lovely Landseer, well-marked, masculine head with correct features, well proportioned, good ear set and dark eyes, front is straight and he has good width to chest, good length to back and correct tail set. Good texture to coat. Moved well coming and going.

3rd: Hosie’s King Of Helluland Jungle Book At Shadowrise (imp SVK)

PGD (8 Entries) Abs: 3

1st: Chapman’s Nandobears You'll Never Walk Alone (imp Deu) (az4), well boned 2 year old with good proportions, lovely dark eye, small well set ears and correct dentition, neck of ample length, strong front assembly, correct depth of chest, well sprung ribs, elbows tightly fitted, good length of back and well-muscled rear end, correct tail set, coat in excellent condition, movement was positive covering the ground with ease. Reserve Dog CC.

2nd: Turner’s Pacto Entre Caballeros Del Valle Largo Baranova, well balanced head with correct features. Well-set ear, correct expression and dark eye. Good depth and width of chest, nice lay of shoulder, good length to back with correct tail set, nice coat of good texture. Moved well.

3rd: Drakeford’s Mississippi-Missouri Walking My Angel

LD (2 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: Lindley’s Legend I Am Canadian Beardog For Lindgreave (Cze Imp), nicely put together male with masculine head and correct features, well-proportioned ear set, nice dark eye, correct scissor bite, strong straight front with good width and depth to chest, nice tight feet, topline is firm and well-set tail. Good angulation and well-muscled rear end. Coat of correct texture, moved freely, well presented

2nd: Drakeford’s Sasquatch Zero To Hero, well balanced with strong muscular head, clean dark eye and good ear carriage, muscular neck and good shoulders, straight back, nice bend of stifle and neat hocks, coat of good texture, moved freely and soundly covering the ground with ease.

OD (6 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: Blake’s Ch Sandbears Masterpiece, beautifully presented and eye catching, super silhouette when standing. This boy had it all, impressive head, broad skull, well set ears, lovely dark expressive eyes, good dentition, well-muscled neck leading to well laid shoulders, good fore chest, good spring of rib, straight front with tight feet. Topline is firm and he has a well-set tail. Well-muscled rear end, outstanding presentation, moving out was true, setting himself up on a free stand. Dog CC, BOB and later Group 3.

2nd: Crosier’s Nurburgnewf Cayman, masculine outline of good shape, nice head proportions and neatly set ears, nice dark eye with pleasing expression, correct dentition. Good reach of neck, leading to nice lay of shoulder. Well sprung ribs with good depth of chest. Strong rear end and good bend of stifle, moved well with correct slight roll of gait.

3rd: Springthorpe & Delacroix’s Ch Oukaya Forever Stormtrooper (Imp) Fra

VD (3 Entries) Abs: 2

1st: Sayle’s Ch Baranova Top Gallant, Impressive 10-year-old in good condition still defying his years. Lovely masculine head, his ears are well set and nice dark eyes, strong broad neck, firm shoulders, good length of back, well-muscled rear end, well-presented moved true coming and going. Best Veteran.

1st: Popple’s Mileoak Wishing On A Star (ba4), lovely feminine shape with pleasing head, neat ear set dark expressive eye, good dentition, strong front assembly with tight feet, good width and depth of chest, strong rear end, muscling up. Moved well and positively.

2nd: Watson’s Newfangled Yes You Did, promising feminine baby of similar size and shape, nice head type, dark eye, good dentition, nice length of back, good front assembly, rear not as muscled as winner which showed on the move.

PB (2 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: Turner’s Nandobears Bisquit Rose Baranova, feminine outline on the stand with correct coat texture, head of good proportions, nice dark eye, correct dentition, strong neck and well laid shoulders, chest has depth and width, tight fitting elbows and firm topline with muscling to thighs, moved out covering the ground with ease. Best Puppy Bitch.

2nd: Duff’s Titanbears Redemption, another quality feminine puppy, making good shape when standing, pleasing head type, neat ear set, dark eye and correct bite. Good front assembly with well laid shoulders and a correct topline. Coat of correct texture, steady mover coming and going.

JB (6 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: Constable’s Valhalabears Just In Time, beautiful brown bitch, feminine outline of good bone size and shape. Pleasing head of correct proportions with correct dentition, good length of neck, well laid shoulders, chest has width and depth with good elbows and firm top line. Well-muscled rear end, coat of correct texture and presentation. She really impressed me on the move covering the ground with ease. Reserve Bitch CC.

2nd: Mills & Chatburn’s Oialt Back With A Icy Three JW, pleasing bitch of a good type, lovely head of correct proportions, nice dark eye and ear set fitting close to head. Strong straight front, correct depth of chest and a level top line, muscular rear end. Coat of correct texture and condition, moved true and sound coming and going.

3rd: Hietschold’s Davistell Babee Love At Chrishelkate (a.i.)

PGB (4 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: Baxter & Morris’ Starcove Sister Act To Davistell, lovely bitch with a feminine head with a dark eye. Strong straight front and tight feet, good depth and width of chest and spring of rib. Level top line, well-muscled rear end with gave a sound action on the move. Good coat, texture coarse and dense.

2nd: Milburn & Sheridan’s Talk Of The Town Du Clos Des Abysses De Provence (Imp Fra) pleasing bitch of a good type, well-proportioned head, lovely eye and correct bite. Nice shape on the stand and a good outline, strong front and neck and well laid shoulder and length of back, nice length of tail. Moved well covering the ground with ease.

1st: Farrar’s Darkpeak Starlight Express, feminine outline with good bone, size and shape, lovely head, short muzzle and good scissor bite. Dark eye and correct ear set. Correct lay of shoulders, chest has good with and depth with good elbows, nice firm top line, well-muscled thighs, good bend to stifles, free easy action on the move covering the ground with ease.

2nd: Haresign’s Will Of The Emperor's Could This Be Love (imp Esp), quality bitch, pleasing head type with expressive eyes and correct scissor bite. Well-muscled neck and good lay of shoulders, strong straight front, level topline which was held on the move. Nice coat texture, coarse and dense.

3rd: Popple’s Mileoak Loch Noir

OB (8 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: Bull’s Sandbears What Ya Fancy At Ravenshore, lovely feminine outline for make and shape when standing. She is well balanced from nose to tail and has a lovely head and her expression is appealing. Nice dark eye, correct dentition. Neck flows into well laid shoulders, stands on straight front legs, tight feet, firm topline, well-muscled thighs with correct angles to hocks, her topline is held on the move, covering the ground with ease, coming and going. Bitch CC.

2nd: Springthorpe’s Sandbears First Class At Millthorpe, pleasing bitch of good type, a well-proportioned head, lovely dark eye and has correct scissor bite. Straight front and nice tight feet, good depth of chest, well laid shoulders, good length of back, well muscular rear end and correct tail set. Coat of good texture and well presented. Strong rear movement moving true and sound.

3rd: Bedford’s King Of Helluland Bianca At Chateaunewf (Naf Taf)

VB (2 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: Mercer’s Ch Ir Ch King Of Helluland Keep Distance At Larkharbour, bitch of good quality, shape and outline very pleasing, string straight front, good width and depth of chest with well sprung ribs, top line is firm and she has a well-muscled rear end. Double coat of a coarse dense texture and good condition. Moved soundly and with a rolling gait covering the ground with ease.

2nd: Martin’s Zentaur Rock Paper Scissors, pleasing bitch of good type, well proportioned head, lovely eye and a correct bite, nice shape and a good outline on the stand. Strong front and firm body, good length of back with a muscular rear end. Coat of correct texture, moved soundly coming and going.
