Border Union : Gordon Setter

Thank you so very much to the exhibitors for giving me the pleasure of judging your dogs, it was an absolute pleasure. If I may comment I found more than a few level bites which is concerning. Without being controversial the Tan colouring needs to be watched as in some it has become pale and in some instances to use a good old Yorkshire word smutty. Thank you once again for the quality entry.

1ST 2302 - Hernwood Rocket Man (Mr P & Mrs C A Sandiford) A very special puppy displaying so much quality, His head is so very pleasing especially at this age which in any setter needs time to finish. Good neck and shoulders which totally fitted in with his body and overall outline. His clear lengthy strides allowed him to move effortlessly a pleasure to see.

2ND 2268 - Hero Majestic Manon Lescaut Yennadon (Imp Cze) (Ms M J Halliday) A really pleasing puppy at just 6 months old and he certainly was aware of the job he was doing. His head displays all the requirements that are listed in the standard stating that it should be strong but not coarse, and when he matures it will be an absolute classic Gordon head in my opinion. One thing I noted his tan was an absolutely lovely colour.

Great expression and good eye which gives the wonderful kind expression. Good length of neck and well angulated shoulders leading to good ribs and strong loin. The best of quarters which he used on the move, displaying fabulous effortless movement.
