In my opinion the breed need to be aware of these high tail carriages that isn’t just in the males, It isn’t just carried high these are set on high. It totally destroys the outline of a Welsh springer spaniel. We have in the past discussed length of leg to ensure these dogs are balanced, but this still needs to be watched. Thank you for the sporting way you gave to my winners today.

1ST 4087 - Santallina Off and Running (Mr I & Mrs D K Douglas) A lot to like about this youngster, I like him for breed type and he looks every bit a welsh springer spaniel. I would prefer to see him more collected when on the move but when he does his movement his sound and true.

2ND 4097 - Glenbrows Casanova JW (Mr T D & Mrs H L Harrison) built on a larger frame than winner, but still a lot to like about him. His head is so beautiful and well balanced, his expression is melting. Would like to see him move more together in the rear action.

3RD 4113 - Ferndel Renzo at Rovinjdal (Mr N & Mrs G Wallington)

1480. Spaniel (Welsh Springer) - Yearling Dog

1ST 4113 - Ferndel Renzo at Rovinjdal (Mr N & Mrs G Wallington) at just 12 month this dog is full of breed type. His outline when free standing is so good. His head is so pleasing, he needs time in body to complete the picture. This exhibit looks much happier when free standing.

1481. Spaniel (Welsh Springer) - Post Graduate Dog

1ST 4094 - Don's As Bold As Brass with Nyliram (Imp Swe) JW (Mrs J Graham) He was a little unsure of his surroundings today, his head and expression displays a true welshy head. Moved true when settled.

1ST 4106 - Waverleyline to Tobermory at Slapestones (Miss D, Mrs T & Mr M Ritchie & Scaife) pleasing exhibit in most areas. I would prefer to see more work in his head, but that didn’t spoils his overall look. Presented in hard condition and moved well.

2ND 4108 - Mymmsbrook Matador with Blythway JW (Mr P & Mrs F M Stevenson) A stronger built exhibit but his placing could not be denied. Presented in good overall condition.

1ST 4081 - Sh Ch Chanangel Jo Sugden JW (Mrs A Chandler) presented in tip top coat and condition. He present a complete picture of a mature dog. His head is well balanced displaying that slight dome over the skull and moderate stop. He moved well when settled Pleased to award him the DCC today.

2ND 4104 - Sh Ch Slapestones Diamond Mine JW (Mrs & Miss Ritchie & Butler) I found this exhibit quite a conundrum, I have judge him previously a few years ago when he was a young dog. He again is presented in top class condition. His head is well balanced with a good soft expression. Moved well and in totally harmony with his handler.

3RD 4086 - Chanangel Yorkshire Gold to Santallina (Mr I & Mrs D K Douglas)

1ST 4117 - Sh Ch Sarabande Lord of The Dance (ai) JW (Mrs C A Worth) His head and expression is so true and once seen never forgot. Good neck and shoulders and pleasing well sprung ribs. Strong quarters which he does use well on the move. Presented in amazing coat and condition. He pushed hard for the CC, however today I awarded him the RDCC. And best veteran in breed.

2ND 4079 - Bowdonia Ozzie VW (Mr A & Mrs H Brown) This exhibit certainly doesn’t look 9 years of age at all. He is a delightful dog. He moves so well at one with his handler. Congratulations in keeping him in such hard condition.

2ND 4116 - Sarabande Kisses of Fire (ai) (Mrs C A Worth) she certainly gave her handler a hard time today, sometimes when judging this breed you can actually see the expression change into “Im thinking about it”. 1ST 4093 - Sh Ch Nyliram Telling Tales JW ShCEx OSW (Mr T Graham) A lovely bitch to go over and her placing and award could not be matched today. Well balanced in head and body. She moves likes she owns the ring and I have to congratulate her on being the best mover today she powers from her hind quarters. Her head and expression displays all the requirements of a welsh springer. Delighted to award her BCC and BOB.

2ND 4095 - Sh Ch Nyliram The Moth Catcher JW (Mrs J Graham) Litter sister to winner today but quite different in head. Not quite as balanced overall as her litter sister but still a quality bitch. Presented a true picture when stacked of a welsh springer spaniel.

1ST 4090 - Benton Small Talk among Tylwyth (Imp Fin) (Mr M & Mrs J Dyer) Classic bitch presented in true style. I loved her and at 8 years of age she certainly showed her younger companions how to use the ring. Her outline and shape is so well balanced.

2ND 4080 - Aindrea Pimms Time (Miss L J, Mr A & Mrs L J Butler & Jackson) A bitch I have often admired form the ring side but she just needed that little more getup and go.
