Thank you to officers and committee of Gundog Society of Wales for the invitation to judge and to exhibitors for their entry of 50 dogs with only a few absentees. I really enjoyed judging this lovely breed. Thank you also to my very able stewards who did an excellent job of keeping everything flowing.

Puppy Dog (2,0)

1st: Westwood, Westwood & McDonald’s Eusanit Loved and Lost. Best Puppy in Breed. A quality puppy who excelled in type. Particularly liked his size Lovely head with alert expression. correct ear carriage. Good neck set into well placed shoulder, straight front, good bone and feet. Well angled rear. Good height to length proportions. Correct topline. shown in lovely coat and condition. a happy chap who enjoyed his time in the ring. Moved soundly with enthusiasm and drive. A bright future awaits.

2nd: Hunt, Hunt & West’s Wakaduze Ottawa. Promising youngster with time on his side. Pleasing head, straight front, enough rear angulation. Not the movement of winner.

Junior Dog (1,0)

1st: Eusanit Loved and Lost. 1st in puppy

Post Graduate Dog (6,0)

1st: Vaughan’s Katimba Malvasia of Valsannra. Pleasing head and expression. good length to neck. Well made front and rear. Straight front, good bone. Balanced outline when stood. Moved soundly with drive.

2nd: Brand’s Coedhelyg Jingle All The Way.. well made throughout, balanced with good topline and plenty of bone. Preferred head of winner although a pleasing expression. Just enough neck, shoulders well placed and straight front Moved with drive but a little wide in front today.

3rd: Parr’s Very Much Kymin of Great Pleasure (Imp BEL)

Limit Dog (9,0)

1st: Rogers’ Eusanit Peaky Blinder. Upstanding dog who gave a good account of himself today. Liked his size and overall balance. Well made front and back. Correct topline. masculine head and pleasing expression. moved soundly with drive.

2nd: Copeland & Knowles’ Eusanit It’ll Be Reet at Menstonia. Larger type but balanced and well made. Preferred head proportions of winner but again a pleasing masculine expression. good neck and shoulders, straight front and well angled rear. Mature body, correct topline. moved we;;.

3rd: Katimba Malvasia of Valsannra

Open Dog (5,1)

1st: Westwood & Westwood’s Ir Sh Ch Eusanit Proper Job. Best Dog & BOB. Thought this dog fitted the standard so well. Good masculine head and expression. of good size, well off for bone. Tight feet. Correct angles front and rear, solid level topline, mature body and shown in lovely dense coat and condition. Moved so well, so sound and exhibited excellent drive. Thought he gave a really good account of himself in the group.

2nd: Elkin’s Ch Tollelkin Caife Americano Wgc Sgwc ShCEx. Res Best Dog .another quality dog who fits the standard well. Nice size, masculine expression. balanced outline. strong neck, well placed shoulders, straight front. Good angulation to rear. Well ribbed and mature body. Moved well and pushed winner hard.

3rd: Nubert’s Kymin Upshi Kreek

Veteran Dog/Bitch ( 6.2)

1st: Adshead & Adshead’s Afonbach Dance With Dragons JW. Best Veteran In Breed. Lovely veteran class, close decision. Feminine head, alert expression. good neck and shoulders, good front, well angled rear. Balanced and well ribbed body. Shown in good condition. thoroughly enjoying her time in the ring. Moved soundly and happily.

2nd: Adshead & Adshead’s Sh Ch Afonbach Winter Is Coming JW. Masculine version of winner. Another well made balanced exhibit. Good size, well made front and rear. Strong neck and correct topline. moved well.

3rd: Copeland’s Camusmor Bring Me Sunshine to Menstonia

Special Beginners Dog/Bitch(3,0)

1st: Katimba Malvasia of Valsannra. Best Special Beginners in Breed. 1st in PG Dog

2nd: Nubert’s Tollerways Uruz Lifeforce. Feminine head and expression. enough length to neck, well off for bone. Nice overall shape. Moved happily and soundly.

3rd: Gough & Gough’s Cretshengan Kitchi Lake (ai)

Puppy Bitch (8,2)

1st: Westwood, Westwood & McDonald’s Eusanit What The Fuggle Roanjora. Looking at catalogue she is litter sister to puppy dog winner. Quality puppy and similar comments apply. Very pretty feminine head, alert expression. well made and gave a really good account of herself. Just felt the dog had the edge on the day.

2nd: Sewell’s Breakerswell Red Velvet. Not yet the finish or maturity of winner but a quality puppy who has time on her side. Liked her head and overall balance. Moved well.

3rd:Hunt’s Wakaduze Dotame

Junior bitch (4,1)

1st: Eusanit What The Fuggle Roanjora. 1st in puppy

2nd: Johnson’s Tamlaikers Ms Dynamite. 4th in puppy. Another who just needs to mature and settle and has plenty of time on her side. Pleasing head, good bone for age. Straight front, enough rear angulation. Needs to settle on the move.

Post Graduate Bitch (9,2)

1st: Winship’s Tarnlaikers Dizzy Rascal. Very confident bitch with a good head, feminine expression. good length to neck, well placed shoulders, straight front. Well angled rear. Balanced in outline, level topline. moved soundly with drive

2nd: Trickett & Trickett’s Cfyre’s High Tea at Tollpepper. Slightly longer in back than winner and not as confident. However there is a lot to like. Feminine head and lovely expression. good neck and shoulders, straight front and well angled rear. Good spring to rib. Kept topline on the move

3rd: Adshead & Adshead’s Afonbach Syrax

Limit Bitch (5,1)

1st: Westwood & Westwood’s Eusanit Bay of Fundy. Res Best Bitch. Feminine head of correct proportion, good neck and shoulders, correct rear angulation. Well made body, good spring to rib of good length. Balanced outline and good topline. moved freely and soundly.

2nd: Winship’s Stellenbosch Tatiana. Another nice bitch. Feminine head, good bone, okay front and rear. A little loose in front today, therefore lost out on movement to winner.

3rd: Roffey’s Camusmor Ca Canny with Acanuck

Open Bitch (3,0)

1st: Trickett, Trickett & O’Connor’s Cfyre’s Spellbreaker at Tollpepper Awb (Imp CAN). Best Bitch. Quality bitch who stood out in today’s line up. Lovely head and expression, strong neck, well placed shoulders. Straight front. Good spring to rib, well angulated rear. Lovely height to length proportions. Correct topline . good bone and feet. Moved freely, soundly and happily. Shown in good coat and condition.

2nd: Johnson’s Tarnlaikers Pikachu. Outshone by winner today who was in great form. However, pleasing bitch to go over, balanced when stood. nice head and expression. moved a little wide in front, but good rear action.
