CITY OF BIRMINGHAM 30TH AUGUST, 2024 MINIATURE PINSCHER
VD (1,0) 1st JAMES, Ms S Ch Jaegerson Dress To Impress. A worthy Black & Tan Champion and looking a picture of health in his 8th year; black shiny coat, bright tans and super muscle tone. Such a great showman; bold and fearless. Loved his head and overall breed type. An unmistakeable Min Pin silhouette stood with his small firm ears, nice strong underjaw. Slight arch to neck and perfect slope to his top line with high set tail. Liked the width to his chest and good length and depth of rib. Moved with drive but a little wide coming towards and would like a little more lift at the knee.
PD (3,1) Two exciting red dog puppies; both with plenty of appeal. 1st MITCHELL, Mrs R Alcum Tee Rex. Only a baby with loads of attitude and definitely ‘self-possessed’. He has a beautiful head with Small dark oval eyes giving a keen expression. Small neat ears set high and strength to his muzzle. Loved his compact body and already showing width to his chest. Perfectly square. So short-coupled with slope to his topline. Tail set high but carried a little tighter than ideal. A little unruly on the move but glimpses of an impressive hackney gait and definitely sound away and back. 2nd COULL, Miss A A Vardenais Hot As Hell. This young man has real ring presence and oozes confidence. Loved his head proportions and dark oval eyes. Good strength to his muzzle. Ears set high but could be a fraction smaller. Slight arch to neck and level top line. Definitely compact and sturdy but not quite as square as first. He is very sound away and back but did not have the hackney gait of the winner.
JD Two cracking young, red Min Pins both epitomising the required ‘fearless animation’ which immediately catches the eye. Both so impressive on the move and so typical in profile with hackney side gait fore and aft. So, to the finer points and priorities that decided the places. (4,0) 1st HEWITT, Miss Catherine & HEWITT, Mrs B Adurus Sundance Kid For Catamyrann – CC, BJIB & BOB. Immediately attracted to this little ‘sherpa tank’ as he stormed into the ring with such attitude. He is the perfect size and stature. I thought his head quite exceptional. Narrow with flat skull and real strength to his muzzle. In absolute proportion to his square, compact body. Dark, oval eyes with a super keen expression. His ears are high set, leathers are thick and they are nice and small in perfect proportion to his head; as such he uses them whether stood or on the move adding extra appeal. He already has a well-developed fore chest that has width and he has depth to his brisket. Lovely wedge-shaped body when viewed from above. His straight top line slopes and his tail is set and carried high. He moves with such drive and is totally parallel away and back. He came with a self-assured determination to impress and take home the CC and despite such serious competition I just could not deny him the top award today – fabulous type and his impressive gait. 2nd WATKINS, Ms Tereza Hawksflight American Jazz. Like the winner he impressed for size and overall shape. He is nice and compact, square in body and his top line slopes beautifully. A little finer in bone than the winner bit still super compact and sturdy in stature. Balanced head proportions with dark oval eyes and high set ears which are a little taller than the winners but used well to create an alert expression. Good strength to his muzzle. Slight arch to his neck. He has a fabulous hackney gait with correct front and hind leg action and is sound away and back. In fit, hard condition with a sleek coat and obvious muscle tone. I would gladly award him a CC and feel confident he will soon be a Champion. Very patiently handled. 3rd PARK, Mrs J A Rayjen Strawberry Pie
LD (2,0) 1st RYAN, Ms Misha Danton Whatever You Want For Glenbrows. A really smart prospect who has potential to win CC’s. Very typical head features with dark oval eyes and strength to his jaw and muzzle. Ears set right on top and perfect shape, could be smaller, but firm and used at all times to show his alert demeanour. Slope to his top line on a compact, short-coupled body. High set tail which he carries well. He is so sound and moves with real drive but just lacks the front lift desired for a hackney gait. 2nd HEWITT, Miss Catherine & HEWITT, Mrs B Adurus Highflyer For Catamyrann. Black and Tan with a super shiny black jacket and rich tans. Appreciated his typical head proportions and the strength off his muzzle. Ears a good size but would prefer them set higher on his head. Compact in body with good width to his chest and depth to his brisket. Sound away and back but like the winner he too needs more lift and break at knee for a hackney gait. Level back but not the slope of top line of the winner.
OD (5,0) 1st WATKINS, Ms Tereza & BUGDEN, Miss Jess Ch Hawksflight Hot Pursuit JW – RCC. An impressive dog more than worthy of every CC he has won. He has great ring presence, cannot stand wrong and has such an impressive rapport with his handler. He will always demand a judge’s attention and catch your eye. Very typical head proportions, dark oval eyes and keen expression. His ears could be smaller, have more strength to the leather and set a fraction higher. Super crest of neck and slope to his top line. His body is compact with length of rib and short loin. He is sound away and back, shows drive from his low hocks and shows some lift at the knee akin to hackney gait. Older brother of the impressive Hawksflight youngster that was 2nd in Junior so the repeat mating was a great success. Interested to note the Dog CC winner’s sire is litter brother Hot Pursuit’s sire. Congratulations to talented breeder Nicky Mackie – your Hawksflight breeding has come out on top again. 2nd SANTORIELLO, Mrs S & SANTORIELLO, Mr Domenico Ch Pinicio Twist And Shout JW. Another worthy Champion and going to be a useful sire given the quality of the three litter mate puppies he sired here today including BPD and the BPIB/RCC winners. Loved his size and overall balance. Good head proportions. Small, neat ears set high. Compact in body but not quite the slope of top line of the winner stood. Really animated on the move particularly in profile where his typical hackney gait is impressive. 3rd JAMES, Ms S Jaegerson The Edge.
PB (4,1) Three super puppies. 1st MITCHELL, Mrs R Alcum Suzie Que. RCC & BPIB. I loved her litter brother and thought he would do quite nicely for BPIB ….and then Suzie Que appeared. At 6 months, this red puppy oozes confidence with such a fabulous personality. Fearless, although I am sure her patient handler would say simply ‘naughty’. She also has a super head with a sparkle in her dark oval eye and small neat high set ears. Good strength to her muzzle. Super sturdy, square body with slope to her top line stood and on the move. Her tail is set high and carried perfectly. Already a well-developed fore chest. She moves with drive and is parallel away and back. Once settled there is typical hackney gait. I predict her Ch title will come in her early Junior years. 2nd SHARP-DIXON & REYES, Mr K & J Churchbank Crystal Angel. Another beautiful red puppy who I am sure will have a very bright future and win green cards. Loved her head proportions and keen expression. Small ears set high. Slight arch to her neck and although a fraction longer in the loin than the winner she has a level, sloping top line and high set tail. Still compact with chest developing well. She moves with great freedom and the desired hackney gait; sound away and back. 3rd MASKELL, Mrs Karen Churchbank Fire Angel
JB (4,0) 1st COLBORNE-BABER, Mrs S M A Danton Buttercup. CC. A beautiful 14 month old red bitch who has serious attitude and a fabulous personality. Confident and sassy stamping her feet four square. Ideal size. Very balanced in all respects. Nice and sturdy with well- developed forequarters for age. Cobby in body and super wedge-shape to her body when viewed from above. Such a typical head with strength to her jaw, dark oval eyes and small ears set high. Top line level and desired slope. Moves parallel away and back and has true hackney action from both front and hind legs. Will gain her title very soon I’m sure. 2nd HIND, Miss S Alcum Siouxsie Sioux Diamoneo. The 3rd litter mate from this very impressive litter making their debut. She is just 6 months old and unlucky to be up against Buttercup. Like her siblings she too should have a very bright future. She was alert and attentive and such a happy baby. I have written ‘stunning head; quite beautiful’. She is a little longer in the loin than the winner. Sound away and back and has a good hackney gait. In excellent overall condition. 3rd WHETTER, Miss Dianne Rayjen Strawberry Tart At Mandolais
PGB (1,0) 1st SHARP-DIXON & REYES, Mr K & J Dinarth Diamonds Are Foreva. This is another red bitch full of breed type. Perfect size and square overall shape. Compact with some width to her chest. Head proportions all balanced with small ears set high. Dark oval eyes and keen expression. Slight crest of neck and slope to her top line is just right. Both stood and moving she makes a very typical outline. She shows good lift with desired break at her knee with some lift to hind legs. Sadly moving very close behind today.
LB (3,0) 1st URWIN, Mrs Wendy & URWIN, Mr Jonathan Vickstock Wow Aneeva JW. Appealed for overall size and square shape. She was finer bitch in many respects so very elegant. Liked her head proportions. Finer in muzzle. Ears could be set a little higher to give more alert overall expression. Nice crest to her neck and slope to her top line with high set tail. Lovely low hocks which she uses to drive. Some lift in front with slight break at knee. Sound away and back. 2nd WHETTER, Miss Dianne Rayjen Fairy Cake At Mandolais. A larger more robust bitch but admired her sturdy body. More strength to her muzzle than the winner but she too needs her ears set higher on her head. Small oval eyes which could be darker. Good length to her rib cage with longer loin than the winner. Moved with drive and parallel away and back. Some lift in front. 3rd FRENCH, Mrs Katherine & FRENCH, Mr Adrian Pinicio Pirouette JW
OB (2,0) Two red bitches both with lots to like and I could easily justify reversing the placings but today the winner was a little more animated and better away and back on the move. 1st SANTORIELLO, Mrs S & SANTORIELLO, Mr Domenico Pinicio Roses Are Red. Lovely size and overall typical silhouette. Compact and square in body with some slope to topline and high set tail. A little finer in muzzle than 2nd. Dark small oval eyes. Small ears which she did not use to advantage today. Super strength to her low hocks she really drives from behind. She does have lift in front with slight break at the knee. In fit condition. 2nd JAMES, Ms S Ch Jaegerson Cracks The Code. She is a chunkier, sturdier bitch which I do like and she has width to her chest. Compact and square with well-developed fore chest with width. Good depth to her brisket and ribs well back with short loin. Better slope to her top line. Loved her head proportions and ears had thick leathers and were set high and used well. Preferred her expression to the winners. She is sound away and drives from her hocks but was wider coming towards. I would like more lift and break in front. Carrying a little too much weight today.
