It was great to see so many golden with good proportions, straight legs and lovely expressions. Movement was also strong throughout with not many with exaggerated angulation which really impacts foot placement and profile movement. There were quite a few in some of the bigger classes who were unplaced, such was the quality. 2014. Retriever (Golden) - Minor Puppy Dog Entries: 5 Absentees: 0 1ST 5763 - Tonara Yellowstone (Mrs L C Linfield) Sweet boy with a lovely head, gentle expression and dark pigment. Gd bone, neat feet, straight front legs. Gd shoulder lay and upper arm, short coupled and balanced fore and aft. Came into his own on the move, gd foot placement, covered the ground with ease and nothing exaggerated. 2ND 5746 - Leighsham The Cheeky Elf (Mrs J Jackson-Haines) Nicely presented compact boy, with a sweet head and dark pigment. Gd bone, straight legs, gd depth of chest, level topline, short coupled. Powerful on the move. 3RD 5741 - Ashbyglen Excalibur (Ms J Holmes) RES 5839 - Waterbabies A Sea of Faces to Hectson (Imp Ita) (Mrs S & Mr C Webb & Smith) VHC 5791 - St Vincent Winter Tale at Bramstorm (Mr & Mrs D Oliver) 2015. Retriever (Golden) - Puppy Dog Entries: 5 Absentees: 0 1ST 5711 - Ambersun Summer Son (Mr G & Mrs T Foreman) Really liked this boy, who is maturing well. Nice outline, mid gold with pale under feathering which really completed the look. He showed beautifully, ticking all the boxes - front assembly, balanced rear, level topline and gd tail set all of which came together when he moved. Very pleased to award him a well deserved BP. 2ND 5811 - Largymore Ravagier (Messrs A & I Scott-Briggs) Another quality male, lovely head and expression. Gd depth of chest, gd bone, level topline, presented beautifully and in great condition. Gd depth of chest, level topline, well put together all round, with balanced angulations front and rear. Straight front legs, neat feet, gd shoulder lay and upper arm & level topline. Handsome head with lovely melting expression, great front & assembly, nothing overdone and in great condition. Retriever (Golden) - Open Dog Entries: 5 Absentees: 1 1ST 5784 - Int/multi Ch Terra Di Siena I´m A Dreamer (Mrs S & Mr A Noferi & Saz Orozco) A true showman, really took my eye from the moment he entered the ring. Beautiful outline when stood, lovely head, clean neckline, well placed shoulders and upper arm. Gd bone, straight legs and gd depth of chest. Level topline, balanced throughout and in great condition, presented beautifully as well. All of these features combined when he moved and he really powered around the ring, but with nothing exaggerated, just great construction and foot placement and drive. It was a pleasure to award him the CC. 2ND 5768 - Sh Ch Thornywait Space Cowboy at Lovissa JW (Mrs M C & Mrs L Loverock & Waldron-Smith) Handsome boy with a pleasing outline and attractive head. Gd front assembly, nice neckline and level topline. Retriever (Golden) - Veteran Dog Entries: 6 Absentees: 0 1ST 5767 - Lovissa Space Dust ShCM VW (Mrs M C & Mrs L Loverock & Waldron-Smith) I judged this boy as a youngster, he was lovely then and like a fine wine he has matured beautifully. Gorgeous head and expression. Great outline, gd depth of chest. Straight front legs & rear. Beautifully balanced, level topline. His movement was effortless and he really powered round, he was a delight to judge and really filled the eye, not showing his 9.5 years and I was delighted to award him the RCC, Best Veteran in Breed and then he won the Veteran Gundog Group! 2ND 5843 - Forbendale Ice Bear (Mr J & Mrs J White) Upstanding cream male with a lovely head and expression and a definite twinkle in his eye! Attractive head, great front assembly. Level topline, straight front legs. Gd bone & length of leg. Put her balance to good use on the move and covered the ground well with driving profile movement. Great outline, lovely neckline and short coupled. Nothing exaggerated, excellent angulation throughout. Gd bone, straight legs, solid topline and tailset, gd depth of chest. Her movement was impressive, great foot placement, plenty of drive and really covered the ground at the correct pace but efficiently and with total ease. She absolutely stood out for me, my star of the day - CC, BOB and thrilled to hear that this was her crowing CC, which she throughly deserves. 2ND 5801 - Mossburn Golly Miss Molly JW (Mrs S H Pounds-Longhurst) All round lovely girl, a shame to come across 1. Short coupled, well spring rib cage, good tail set and really moved beautifully, covering the ground with ease. I couldn’t deny her quality and was delighted to award her the RCC. 2ND 5694 - Quakerhall Victory Jubilee JW (Mrs D S & Mrs R J Crookes & Jenkinson) Sweet mid gold girl, also showed well.
