The first Championship show I ever attended as an exhibitor was Scottish Kennel Club in 1989 and I was truly honoured to be invited to judge my first championship appointment on home ground. Thank you to all exhibitors for their entries and sportsmanship. The hall was particularly noise and the Tannoy system seemed to be in constant use upsetting a few exhibits however most coped very well with the long day.

1st: SCOTT, Mr Andre & SCOTT, MRS CHANTAL Chantique Kingdom Of Heaven.A very sweet sable male baby lovely bone and correct wedged shaped head, oblique set dark eyes giving the most exquisite expression. His ears were set perfectly on his backskull (something I feel we are losing). He had a good reach of neck and balanced outline, but he needs to grow on to make size. He moved well and was presented and handled to perfection.
2nd: 4313 LOCKYER, Mrs Melissa Salsina's Red Hot Crush With Gataj, another sweet golden sable boy, he was well proportion for age a good length of back and reach of neck. I would prefer more angulation to front assembly and turn of stifle. Head developing well just lacked the expression of 1.

1st: TURNER, Mrs Charlene Paulara Blaze Of GlorySable and white male, no doubting his masculinity. He has lovely bone, standing on well-padded neat feet. His head well moulded, good stop and good well set dark eyes. He has a good length of neck and back under his wealth of coat which was presented to perfection, his movement needs to tighten but did enough to take BPIB in today company.
2nd: BROOKER, Mrs, Miss & Miss P M, E J & J L Starlenga All About Majic For CorisianAnother well balanced shaded sable male, he appeals for his terrific reach of neck enhanced by his huge white collar, he has lovely, neat hocks and feet. He has a lovely alert expression but deeper in stop and back skull, I preferred the balanced head of 1. He moved with purpose but needs to tighten in all quarters.
3rd: 4343 WRAY-RAMSDEN, Mrs S L Takhisis Daggers At Dawn
Class 2303 JD (4 Entries) Abs: 1
1st: WATERHOUSE, Mrs Carolyn Lynmead Royal Lover
This young male was top class he had a beautiful balanced head and exquisite eye that is not often seen these days. He had small perfectly tipped ears completing the expression I was looking for. Good neck and length of back, was in good firm condition. Correct lay of shoulder and angulation at back which allowed him to drive around the ring with the lightest of footwork a joy to watch.
2nd: BROOKER, Mrs, Miss & Miss P M, E J & J L Starlenga All About Majic For Corisian 2nd in Puppy.
3rd: 4299 FOSTER, Mrs L B Didek Eclipse Of The Moon
Class YD (1 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: LOCKYER, Mrs Melissa Gataj Turn Back Time Jw
Golden sable almost 2 years old, nicely presented and appeals for balance shaped, he moved correct in all angles but would like more drive from back. He has a good well moulded head, would prefer a sweeter eye and higher ear carriage to complete a more masculine expression.
Class 2305 PGD (2 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: CRONK, Mrs Vanessa Chelborn's Gambling List
A handsome tricolour presented to perfection with inky black and rich tan, he has a good length of back but lacks the length of neck and leg to balance his shape. He has a lovely soft moulded head with correct stop and dark eyes with neat ears completing sweet, desired expression. He moved well, driving at the back.
2nd: TAYLOR, Mr C Thistlewing Firedancer At Bryany
A golden sable of good size but not as mature as winner and lacks the bone and substance that I look for in a male. He has correct blunt wedged shaped head but his eye placement and ear carriage spoil his expression. He moved well.
Class 2306 LD (6 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: WATERHOUSE, Mrs Carolyn Lynmead Famous Lover
Not a showing fool, but a striking male who hold the impassive dignity with his fabulous neck enhanced by his huge white shawl collar, correct length of back. He has the most beautiful, wedged shape head, perfect placed stop, and eye set, completing his exquisite expression. He was in tip top condition in athleticism and coat condition. He was a close contender in the challenge with a change of handler he excelled and demanded attention but just lost out in the final push as the open dog held the stance longer and had to settle for res CC.
2nd: BRODIE, Mrs Wilma Shanaburn Country Road
This 2 year old shaded sable is a handful for his handler but when he pulls it all together he is a quality dog. Rich shaded sable, well-presented coat, lovely bone and well padded feet. He has a keen alert expression from lovely set eyes and perfect ear carriage. Good length of neck, he could be a tad longer in back to complete the balance. He moved well around the ring in all directions one to watch in the future.
3rd: JOHNSTON, Miss K Jopium Front Runner At Geosamka
Class OD (5 Entries) Abs: 2
1st: 4325 SHIPP, Mr Robert Paul & SHIPP, Mrs Margaret No More Heroes Du Clos De Sea-wind Jw (imp Fr)
A fully mature rich golden sable at 6 years old this is the best I have seen this boy look. He was in sparkling form. He has a lovely wedged shaped head with well set eyes and neat ears that he used all the time to give a masculine expression. He has a good length of back, good turn of stifle, I would have liked a longer neck to complete the balance but doesn’t detract from his quality. He moved well and was handled well to take the CC in very good company. CC & BOS
2nd: 4330 TURNER, Mrs Charlene Chantique Magical Mystery
Completely different type to 1 and had to be handled to appreciate his virtues. A smaller shaded sable with melting expression despite his ears not being as erect as I would desire. He carries a wealth of coat but underneath this he has a good spring of ribs. He has nice bone. Couldn’t match 1 for the positive movement.
3rd: CRONK, Mrs Vanessa Chelborn That'll Do
Class 2308 VD (2 Entries) Abs: 1
1st: BENTON, Miss M K Ch Brooklynson El Dorado ShCEx
A larger type shaded sable who presents a balance picture standing and belies his veteran status. He excels in movement with light effortless stride. He is longer in head than I am used to but did possess the desired blunt wedge.
Class 2309 SBD (1 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: 4327 SHORTEN, Miss Chloe Thistlewings Andromeda At Bracoisla
Rich Golden sable of good size and attentive to handler and presented well. Still a lot of maturing to do, good length of head but eyes are a bit close together. He has a good length of back and turn of stifle. Moved erratic at times.
Class 2310 GCD (1 Entries) Abs: 0

Class 2311 MPB (1 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: JOHNSTON, Miss K Geosamka Loves Kiss
Very raw golden sable bitch, with a lovely arched neck and length of back, moved confidently around the ring, head and expression is lacking balance at the moment, but she has time to mature.
Class 2312 PB (2 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: TURNER, Mrs Charlene Paulara Born To Be My Baby
Litter brother to BPIB and many of the same remarks apply, this little lady is not as positive on the move as brother and way too proud of her tail. But she does have a the sweetest of expression from her good head pattern and well set ears.
2nd: LOCKYER, Mrs Melissa Gataj Pink Glitter
A golden sable bitch not as forward as 1 but just right for age. Nice shape with a balanced head and good stop, she moved and was handled well, just not the eye placement and expression of 1.
Class JB (6 Entries) Abs: 1
1st: CRONK, Mrs Vanessa Skabona If I Saw You In Heaven For Chelborn (Swed
This clear blue merle surprised me today what a cracker, with a change of handler she gave it her all. She looked me straight in the eye and demanded attention. Her ears were bang on top of her head. Her head is a good length with a lovely round muzzle and flat back skull, her eye could be sweeter for me but nothing to detract from her quality. She excels in neck, flowing into well laid shoulder, good depth of chest and correct rise over her loin, well let down hocks which she used to power around the ring. In the challenge she was a strong contender just lacked the maturity and finishing of my winners. I will watch her progress with interest.
2nd: 4298 FORT, Miss J M Elshajo Loves Gift
This young bitch was unlucky to meet 1 today just out of puppy she was just my type. A golden sable with lovely head, dark eye, good ear carriage giving the most gorgeous of expression. She appealed for reach of neck and balanced body shape moved and handled well.
3rd: 4341 WHITAKER, Mrs G Siluto Blueberry Mist
Class 2314 YB (2 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: 4321 HASLAM-CRAIB, Mrs Diane Veronica Roughrigg Ragga
Golden sable with a pretty head of correct length and moulding. Sweet dark eye and correct ear carriage. She strikes me as being petite but on handling she has everything in the right place. Moved freely and attentive to handler.
2nd: 4314 MACDONALD, Miss Jody Brilyn Look At Me
Another golden sable, who was lacking the furnishing today to complete the picture what she had was beautifully presented. She has correct length of head, I would prefer a sweeter eye. She has a good length of back, and she stands 4 square, moved out well.
Class PGB (7 Entries) Abs: 2
1st: 4316 MCENTEE, Mrs G M Lynway Sun Blossom Through Gerian
Now this was just what I was looking for today the sweetest of expressions and a type not often seen these days. Beautifully feminine and graceful no mistaken this lady sex. Presented in full coat golden sable with beautiful arch to her neck and good body shape, lovely bone, and substance. Head was beautifully moulded and with obliquely set dark eyes. However there was a huge BUT she was carrying too much weight that showed in her movement. With a few pounds off this lady will trouble the best.
2nd: 4295 EDWARDS, Mrs Julie Ann Camanna Paulara Cissy Spacek Golden sable with a clean head, deeper in stop than desired, she has an inquisitive expression with nice dark eyes. Pleasing body shape but lacked the femineity and quality of 1. Moved and handled well.
3rd: 4303 HOBKIRK, Mrs Mary & HOBKIRK, Mr J Chantique Sugar Moon
Class LB (8 Entries) Abs: 2
This was an exceptional class where any one of the 6 presents could take a CC and even their title. I had to sort them out in the order of MY preference but the placings no way detracts from the quality of the exhibits. I wish you all well with these beautiful ladies.
1st: 4338 WATERHOUSE, Mrs Carolyn Collingvale Chin Chin Lynmead
The star of the day and the one you want to take home. Not a showing fool or completely happy in the hall which I made allowances for, but she even tried my patience at times, (having a bitch with similar qualities and temperament I was more forgiving than others may have been, there lies the compromise of judging)
It is no secret I would sell my soul for a tri bitch and this one totally captivated me. Glamourise when she entered the ring instantly appeals for her quality. Her head is the correct length, lovely moulding, correct placed stop and sweetest of dark eyes, ears are small and carried correctly giving a melting expression that only a tri can give when it all comes together. She has a good reach of neck, flowing easily into well laid shoulders and her length of back, good spring of ribs and rear angulation allowed her power around the ring always holding her top line. Built for working taking long efficient steps, light and effortless. All this put together gave her the CC and BOB despite her best efforts to throw it away. Congratulations
2nd: 4323 SCOTT, Mr Andre & SCOTT, MRS CHANTAL Chantique Déjà vu
Another glamourise lady that is just my cup of tea, golden sable in top form. Elegant and dignified she put in a great performance. Beautifully, presented coat and furnishing put down to the minute. I have judged this bitch before, and she captivated me before and now at peak of maturity she is divine.
Creates a beautiful picture standing showing he feminine charms. Lovely head correct moulding, soft rounded muzzle correct placed stop, almond shaped eyes giving the impression that she knows she is top drawer.
Holding her beautiful arched neck everything flowed into her well-made body lovely short hocks, she moved out well just couldn’t match 1 on the free flow effortless stride. res CC.
3rd: 4283 BLUCK, Miss E & EDWARDS, Mrs J Paulara Lucy In The Sky For Elshajo – Cracking tri and no disgrace standing third in exceptional company.
Class OB (4 Entries) Abs: 1
1st: 4309 LOCKYER, Mrs Melissa Gataj Good Time Girl
Lovely type of sable bitch, presented in good condition just lacked this full bloom and glamour of others today. Appeals for her well balance and elegance, nice head of good clean lines and nice expression but lacks the sweetness I desire, nice bone, and substance. Moved very well driving from behind. Almost pipped the tri in the challenge with her steady performance, quality bitch.
2nd: 4304 ILEY, Mrs Daphne Call Me Dreamer In Blue For Ileyda Della Verde Sco
Lovely clear blue merle sparkling even in the dullest of halls, she is a good size bitch with a good head type with a flat skull, would prefer a tighter ear carriage to complete her expression. Good reach of neck and length of back, good bone and she moved well in all directions.
3rd: 4296 FARTHING, Mr & Mrs Derrick Aldreen Illusion In Blue For Didek
Class 2318 VB (2 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: SHIPP, Mr Robert Paul & SHIPP, Mrs Margaret Ch Gillyflower Della Buca Delle Fate (imp Ita)
Another rich golden sable beautifully presented from this kennel, she is a typical rough collie with no exaggeration in any part. She has a good reach of neck flowing into well laid shoulders, good rear angulation and moved with ease. She has a good clean head with correct almond eyes providing a sweet expression, a pleasure to judge this lady and hard to believe she is a veteran.
2nd: 4286 BROOKER, Mrs, Miss & Miss P M, E J & J L Telforth Sweet Dreams To Corisian Jw
An old favourite of mine who is a pleasure to judge again, she has the sweetest of heads with lovely expressive eyes, she is certainly dreamy, she has balanced shape and everything in proportion to herself and is covered in a wealth of coat that was just too much for me on the day and cost her first place. At over 10 years old she powered around the ring on her short hocks.
Class 2319 SBB (4 Entries) Abs: 1
1st: 4321 HASLAM-CRAIB, Mrs Diane Veronica Roughrigg Ragga 1st in Yearling
2nd: 4341 WHITAKER, Mrs G Siluto Blueberry Mist
An immature blue merle who has time on her side, she has a nice shape and moved soundly. Her head lacks the balance and expression I desire.
3rd: 4342 WHITAKER, Mrs G Siluto Silvary Blue Moon:
