My thanks to the Officers and Committee for the invitation to judge at this well organised show, my stewards for keeping the ring flowing and the exhibitors for your entries. I found enough quality, especially the parti colours with some very exciting youngsters coming through.

All the “best in show” decisions were made with full agreement with my co judge Ann Hughes.

PARTI COLOUR SPECIAL PUPPY BITCH – 1 entry, 1 absent

PARTI COLOUR SPECIAL YEARLING BITCH – 3 entries, 1 absent

1 Ewan’s CRAIGDEAN NIKITITA

Sturdily made blue with feminine head and dark eye giving the desired kind expression. Well made front with plenty of depth, well sprung rib with short loin, good thickness to first and second thigh. Moved sound.

2 Lawrie’s MABELHOPE YOUR THE ONE

Not so mature as 1 but a nice type with balanced head and good depth to body. Moved sound behind but not so accurate coming, a little proud of her tail today.

PARTI COLOUR SPECIAL POST GRADUATE BITCH – 2 entries, 0 absent

1 Scotland’s LYNWATER MY FAIR LADY

An orange girl with a beautiful head and kind expression, excels in front with lovely lay of shoulder, matching upper arm and good depth to fore chest. Strong well muscled hind quarters, moved sound with purpose.

2 Davies’ ANNASIDE WINTER’S MOON

Another quality typey exhibit, this one I judged and like as a puppy, She has a pretty head, dark eye and correct in body. Not the front of 1

PARTI COLOUR SPECIAL OPEN BITCH – 1 entry, 1 absent

SOLID COLOUR SPECIAL PUPPY BITCH – 2 entries, 0 absent

1 Blazejczak’s ST CLAIR’S WILDSWIM FROM REDGRANATE

A black girl with good proportions to head and dark eye. She has well laid shoulders, good balance to body and well angulated hind quarters. Would like to see more width all through, time is on her side.

2 Crawford’s TOTENKOPF DUTCH DOUBLE DEUCE

Another black of different type, has a feminine head and good depth to body. I found her a little steep in shoulder and not the balance in profile as 1.

SOLID COLOUR SPECIAL YEARLING BITCH – 0 entries

SOLID COLOUR SPECIAL POST GRADUATE BITCH – 3 entries, 1 absent

1 Davies’ ANNASIDE STAR TURN

Lovely, feminine head with kind eye. Well made front assembly with good depth to brisket, well sprung rib to short loin. Sound on the move holding a level topline. Plenty of energy!

2 Brindle’s KENWAD GOLDEN DREAM AT ORDHAWAY

Pretty red of good type with a well made front, well sprung ribs to short loin. Carrying too much weight for me today and rather erratic on the move.

SOLID COLOUR SPECIAL OPEN BITCH – 2 entries, 0 absent

1 Shrinkfield’s QUETTADENE QUEEN OF STARS

A well shown black who has developed into a quality exhibit, she has a most appealing head with kind expression. Good width and depth throughout with well developed rib, short loin. Sound accurate footfall holding level topline.

2 Rodger’s RAVENSGREEN GAOL MO CRIDHE

Another pretty headed black, mature in rib, short loin. Not quite the upperarm or the footfall on the move as 1.

ANY COLOUR VETERAN BITCH – 3 entries, 2 absent

1 Rodger’s KENWAD BLACK OPIUM AT RAVENSGREEN

Stood alone but deserved her place here, so full of herself! Appealing head, mature in body with good length to height ratio in profile. Strong, wide hindquarters, moved sound with much enthusiasm.

ANY COLOUR MINOR PUPPY BITCH – 7 entries, 0 absent

Quality class of minors at difference stages of maturity, it will be interesting to watch them as they develop and mature.

1 Nuttall’s ROSECOURT ROMANCE

Fell for this one hook, line and sinker! She really stood out for me for her breed type and balance. Everything in the right place at the right amount for her age. A leg in each corner, standing four square, well sprung rib to short loin, firm topline. Lovely width over the rear and a joy to watch her on the move. BPB & BPIS

2 Madigan’s MISPERROS SILVER SHADOW

A short coupled orange baby that will need more time than 1. Not quite the angulation of winner nor the ring presence but time is on her side. Two nice pups.

3 Kennedy’s KENWAD SORRENTO

ANY COLOUR PUPPY BITCH – 6 entries, 0 absent

1 Gladman’s CHATIVORE SEA LA VIE

Scores in head shape and front assembly over 2, more mature all through with big ribs and short loin. Moves sound with good reach and drive. Would like a better croup.

2 Yilmaz’ ANLASANA YEAVERING BELLE

A pretty blue with lots to like and many attributes of 1. Sound on the move with good drive from strong hind quarters. Head needs to break which I am sure it will given time.

3 Flowers’ TOTENKOPF ALL THAT GLITTERS

AMY COLOUR JUNIOR BITCH – 4 entries, 0 absent

1 Todd’s ZHERIDONS BLANCHE

This young golden bitch filled my eye for her excellent breed type and the flow from her well shaped balanced head to correctly set on and carried tail. She is beautifully made with text book front assembly, good depth to brisket, big ribs extending well back to short loin. Plenty of width over the rear with well developed first and second thigh, short below the hock. She moves effortlessly covering the ground with ease showing correct width fore and aft, reach and drive in profile. I was delighted to award her the CC, her first.

2 Williams’ WILMERELLA MEMPHIS BELLE

A dark blue of lovely breed type with well made front, deep chest with big ribs and short loin. I liked her head but not quite the expression of 1. Carrying a tad excess weight today in my opinion, moves sound but rolling a little which could be seen in profile.

3 Davies’ ANNASIDE YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE

ANY COLOUR YEARLING BITCH – 1 entry, 0 absent

1 Duncan’s CORRALET CONDESA III OF DUNHERL

Attractive light blue of good breed type and balance, square in profile. Feminine head, well made front, big ribs and short loin. Moves sound with level topline, drive and reach.

ANY COLOUR MAIDEN BITCH – 1 entry, 0 absent

1 Lawrie’s MABELHOPE YOUR THE ONE (repeat entry)

ANY COLOUR NOVICE BITCH – 3 entries, 1 absent

1 Davies’ ANNASIDE YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE

Placed 3rd in a strong class previously. Appealing head with good dark eye. Strong in front with correct body. Won this class on soundness of movement and outline in profile.

2 Brindle’s KENWAD GOLDEN DREAM AT ORDHAWAY (repeat entry)

ANY COLOUR UNDERGRADUATE BITCH – 4 entries, 1 absent

1 Davies’ ANNASIDE YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE (repeat entry)

2 Oswald’s DUNHERL BLAZING STAR

Black with feminine head, well ribbed body, short loin and good legs and feet. Found her a little short in upper arm and soft in topline.

3 Brindle’s KENWAD GOLDEN DREAM AT ORDHAWAY

ANY COLOUR GRADUATE BITCH – 2 entries, 0 absent

Two nice blue bitches of very different types

1 MacDonald’s CLOUDHOWE BONNIE ECOSSE

Scores in head shape, firm topline, width over the rear and drive on the move. Eye shape is correct but could be a shade darker. She has correct front construction, mature in ribs and strong quarters. Carrying a tad more weight than I would like.

2 Madigan’s MISPERROS ABEJA REINA

I liked this girl for depth of body and her length to height ratio. I would like more work in her head and more width on the move when going.

ANY COLOUR POST GRADUATE BITCH – 2 entries, 0 absent

1 Ward’s WENSUM LET’S DANCE

A pretty headed red girl with good depth to forechest, well laid shoulders. She has well sprung ribs, carrying correct body weight and in good coat. Not so accurate in hind action today.

2 MacDonald’s CLOUDHOWE BONNIE ECOSSE (repeat)

ANY COLOUR MID LIMIT BITCH – 7 entries, 0 absent

1 Amos-Jones CASSOM MERRILEGS

Mature light blue that is lovely to handle on the table, has lovely breed type and balance. Moves sound when steadied, particularly in front, She has good depth to brisket, mature rib to short loin, well muscled hindquarters. Not quite the accurate footfall of the CC winner today. I was very pleased to award her the Res CC. Sadly she slipped on the floor before the challenge for RBIS and moved lame.

2 Madigan & Fairbairn’s MISPERROS INCANDESCENT AT CARMELFAIR

Impressed me for her breed type and balance, well made front assembly, spring of rib and short loin. Moves sound with reach and drive. Not as mature as 1.

3 Flowers’ TOTENKOPF HIP HOP

ANY COLOUR LIMIT BITCH – 8 entries, 0 absent

I found this class particularly challenging to sort.

1 Rainey’s KALISPELL VILLANELLE

This blue was right up my street in terms of size make and shape. She has a beautifully balanced head and soft expression. She is well put together and so balanced throughout. She has substance yet maintains her femininity. She moved sound both ways and in profile.

2 Steele’s ZIENNES AZZURA

A darker blue girl of lovely type and balance, though not quite the head of winner. She is strong in front construction with big ribs. Moved sound and pushed winner hard.

3 Lewis’ HARADWATER VANITY FAIR AT PENMARTAN (IMP PRT)
