Thank you to the Officers & Committee for this appointment, being my first time judging the breed at this level. I thoroughly enjoyed the day and found the entry to be a quality one, thank you to the sporting exhibitors for your support and the fabulous atmosphere around the ring.

Veteran Dog – 6 entries, 0 absent
A quality class of mature gentlemen
1. Worth’s SH CH SARABANDE LORD OF THE DANCE (AI) JW
This dog impressed me for his flow from nose to tail. He is a medium sized dog with nothing exaggerated, masculine head without any coarseness, scores on front assembly which is so evident in his reach and drive on the move. BVIB
2. Williams’ SH CH ISFRYN SPOT THE DIFFERENCE TREBETTYN
Another dog of immense quality albeit a different type to 1, he is all dog with an appealing head with kind expression. He has well sprung ribs, short loin and good depth, moves sound but not quite the reach of 1.
3. Caldwell & McDowell’s BOWDONIA ONLY THE BRAVE FOR CERYSAN
Minor Puppy Dog – 0 entries
Puppy Dog – 0 entries
Junior Dog – 3 entries, 0 absent
1. Harrison’s GLENBROWS AMADEUS
This young dog demanded my attention on entering the ring. On handling I could see why I was drawn to him, he has breed type and balance in spades. He has a beautiful masculine head and dark expressive eyes, well developed body and angles that just flowed on handling. Moves sound, just lacked some confidence and enthusiasm to trouble the main winners. I am sure his time will come.
2. Barkley’s JACRANELLA GALAHAD OF CHERRYHEATH (AI)
This is a more mature dog with a masculine head, well developed in forechest and rib, to short loin and well angulated hind quarters. Not the profile on the move of 1.
3. Johnstone’s GLENBROWS ERASMUS FOR GILPETA
Yearling Dog – 3 entries, 1 absent
1. Harrison’s GLENBROWS CASANOVA
Another quality one from this kennel with a classy head and well made front assembly. He is about right in maturity for his age with well developed rib. He has strong well muscled hind quarters, moves sound with reach and drive.
2. Williams’ NYLIRAM THE ALIBI FOR TREBETTYN JW
Another quality exhibit of different type to 1, he is well made throughout, now needs to fill his frame further. His head is appealing but there is more development yet to come. Moves sound fore & aft and holds a good shape in profile.
Novice Dog – 1 entries, 0 absent
1. Johnstone’s GLENBROWS ERASMUS FOR GILPETA
3rd in a tough Junior class, lacking maturity over the winners of the class. He is barely 12 months old and is of good breed type. He needs to fill in forechest and tighten in elbow, both of which should come together. He is a happy chappy and holds a firm topline.
Post Graduate Dog – 5 entries, 2 absent
1. Stevenson’s MYMMSBROOK MATADOR WITH BLYTHWAY JW
A very impressive dog that is full of breed type. He has a beautifully balanced head with kind expression. I liked his overall construction, the next part seamlessly flowing on from the last. He is in great condition with correct body, strong well muscled quarters, moved steadily and sound holding his shape in profile gait. A well deserved res cc today.
2. Nicoll’s BENOVEOR SAIL ON TO ANTRETH JW
Another quality dog, not quite the head of 1, well made in front with good depth. He moved sound, giving his handler a hard time today.
3. Stone’s KIDENOAN MARK TIME FOR MERREM JW
Limit Dog – 4 entries, 1 absent
1. Allen & Cochrane’s EIRIANDYLIS BY GEORGE
Not a big one but all in proportion and lots to like about him. Lovely head and eye, excels in layback of shoulder, correct in body with adequate depth, to short loin. Best mover of the class holding his shape in profile.
2. Jones’ TROSLEY TAMOSHANTA
A quality dog with masculine head and mature body and well muscled quarters. Not the profile or drive of 1
3. Gough’s JULITA RUSKESTER
Open Dog – 5 entries, 1 absent
1. Millard’s SH CH FERNDEL HIGH COMAND AT RUBYLEA
This well schooled dog captured my attention as soon as he entered the ring. He excels in Welshie breed type and balance! He has a beautiful masculine head and expressive eyes. He scores in construction which shows in his sounds movement with plenty of reach and drive, covers the ground with ease, along with such great showmanship. He is so the type I was looking for with nothing overdone. Delighted to award him the CC
2. Jenkins & Williams’ CWMBEILI MORGAN
This 8 year old is of credible quality, he has a well made front and correct body. His quarters are well muscled which he used to drive with short rear pasterns. He is another showman who knows what is expected of him. Sound from any angle.
3. Hepworth’s KAMUNTING’ MAD HATTER
Special Beginners – 0 entries
Veteran Bitch – 4 entries, 0 absent
1. Jones’ SH CH JULITA RUMOURS AT TROSLEY
This bitch headed a good array of classy ladies. Loved her pretty head, correct mature body, good thickness to thigh and scored in sound movement and side gait with extension over 2.
2. Waller’s ISFRYN LADY GODIVA AT FIREGLOW JW
Another nice bitch that shares many attributes of the winner. She moved sound fore and aft, not quite the reach and drive of 1 and lost her topline at times in profile.
3. Whitfield’s GLENBROWS HEART TO HEART
Minor Puppy Bitch – 2 entries, 0 absent
1. Jackson & Palmer’s TUTTINGTON GINGER SNAP AT ARDINIA
A youngster that is more mature than 2, she has a pretty head and good expression. She has good depth and width for her age, albeit a bit bum high at this stage but I am sure she will come up on her front with time. Moved sound.
2. Walton, Coffin & Patterson’s HILLPARK TWIST WITH JOY
This raw baby shows much promise with good head and eye. She needs to deepen and widen through which she will do with age I’m sure. She has adequate body for her age.
Puppy Bitch – 3 entries, 0 absent
The first two are quite similar and I am sure will change places many times.
1. Mcilwaine & Reynolds’ FERNDEL REBECCA FOR BENOVEOR
I was drawn to the type and balance of this pretty bitch with appealing deep expression. She has a well made front assembly, short loin and sound movement. She needs to mature in rib and depth and grow in confidence, time is on her side. BPB & BPIB
2. Boumonte , Boumonte & Dimond’s ROXDALE PREMIER ROSE
Another quality puppy with a pretty head, she is well made throughout and a little more mature than 1. Just preferred the expression and footfall accuracy of 1.
3. Cochrane & Allen’s EIRIANDYLIS CONFUSION
Junior Bitch – 4 entries, 0 absent
1. Harrison’s GLENBROWS HARMONY
Cracking bitch from any angle, couldn’t put a foot wrong and so sassy! She has typical breed type, lovely balance and carries herself to advantage. She has a pleasing head and I love those expressive deep eyes full of mischief! She has a strongly constructed front with plenty of depth for her age, she is well sprung in the rib, short loin with strong well muscled quarters. Not in her best frock but just enough. She really comes alive on the move holding a firm topline. I was hooked and reeled in. CC & BOB
2. Mcilwaine & Reynolds’ FERNDEL REBECCA FOR BENOVEOR (repeat)
3. Haill’s SANTALLINA CHANCE AFFAIR FOR CHANANGEL
Yearling Bitch – 6 entries, 0 absent
1 Harrison’s GLENBROWS WISH JW
And they just keep coming from this kennel and do they know how to put them down in tip top order? This is another that I admired greatly. She has not quite the ring presence of her kennel mate; I do hope her confidence and showmanship will come better. She is so well made and scores in head over my cc winner but couldn’t match her movement today. Res cc
2 Worth’s SARABANDE KISSES OF FIRE (AI)
This is another classy bitch that has a lovely head and kind eye. She is well made throughout and fills my eye for breed type and balance. Not quite the hind action of 1 and carrying some excess weight today.
3 Frost’s BODLON WHOLE LOTTA ROSIE FOR BUSHWACKER
Novice Bitch – 2 entries, 0 absent
1. Mcilwaine & Reynolds’ FERNDEL REBECCA FOR BENOVEOR (repeat)
2. Walton, Coffin & Patterson’s HILLPARK CARYS GOLD
A more mature girl with pretty head and correct body. I found her a little shorter in upperarm than 1 which showed in her movement. She has good depth and well muscled quarters.
Post Graduate Bitch – 3 entries, 0 absent
1. Blackford’s AMBLELIGHT ADHARA JW
This bitch won the class on her breed type and sound movement. She has a pretty head and kind expression. She is soundly constructed in front with correct body and strong well muscled quarters.
2. Primmer’s AMANSHE MERMAID’S TEARS
Different type to 1 but lots to like all the same with her feminine head, well made front and mature body. Found her a little steep in croup and not the hind action of 1 today.
3. Buckwell’s KILLENA ONE MOMENT IN TIME
Limit Bitch – 4 entries, 0 absent
1. Millard’s FERNDEL WATER LILY AT RUBYLEA (AI)
Another quality exhibit that impressed me greatly with her appealing head and her many attributes that match the breed standard well. Loved her make, shape and size, she stood four square. She moved sound with enthusiasm and pushed the ultimate winners hard in the challenge. Her day will come I am sure.
2. Ritchie & Graham’s RENASCENT BLEABERRY AT SLAPESTONES JW (IMP USA)
This girl has a well made front, mature rib to short loin, preferred the head of 1. She was carrying a little excess weight which didn’t help her topline in profile today.
3. Morgan’s BENOVEOR ENDLESS LOVE AT RUBYDOWN
Open Bitch – 2 entries, 0 absent
1. Worth’s SARABANDE WILD AT HEART (AI)
This quality bitch captured me when entering the ring for her breed type and balance, typical head and kind eye. However, on closer inspection, although she impressed me for her make and shape she was carrying too much weight which spoilt the outline and carriage on the move, so had to pay the penalty in the challenge.
2. Reynolds, Mcilwaine & Reynolds’ BENOVEOR CAN’T BUY ME LOVE
Another good type of bitch that is well made throughout, however, she could carry more weight to advantage. She moved sound with reach and drive.
