BLACKPOOL CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW

   22st June 2024

Firstly I would like to start by saying a huge thank you to the committee for allowing me to judge

Basset Fauve de Bretagnes and managing a well run show; to my two stewards who assisted me on the

day and to all the exhibitors who entered and accepted my decisions gracefully. Bites were all correct.

We were blessed with dry weather that was not too hot for the dogs and with a bit of sun on their backs

showed them to their full potential.

   JD 1

1st & BJ - Blevins BLEVWIL APOLLO – A 13 month old who has a nice harsh jacket, typical breed type.

Liked his houndy head and dark round eyes. Ears of good length, strong neck, good angulation, straight

legs and standing on tight feet . He moved out well for his young handler carrying tail in slight sickle

    fashion.

    YD 1

1st - Stevenson-Bramley REVENITE MR HUDSON – An 18 month old who looks fully mature but not very

happy today on the move indicated by low tail carriage. Attractive domed head, good earset, strong neck,

good depth of forechest and ribbing. Harsh coat. Straight front legs and tight feet. Moderate rear

angulation. Would prefer a touch more height for length. Moved truly.

     OD 3(2)

1st & RBD – Freudenreich RANGALI SHIMMY JIMMY – at 23 months old he looks the finished article.

All male! Pleasing head with nice, round dark eyes, ears of correct length. Muscular neck leading to

good front quarters with slight crook to front legs. Well proportioned body, harsh coat making a pleasing

outline. Lively movement with tail carried high.

      VD 2

1st & BVIB – Mackay CH SHIROBLAM RUMBA This 8 year old boy has always been a favourite of mine

and a true showman! Just love his head of correct proportions with a nice dark twinkling eye, good

earset and folds. Muscular neck leading to strong forequarters and well angulated rear. Super length of

ribbing and in hard condition using the ring to advantage. Nice harsh jacket.

2Nd - Allenby CH RANGALI TIGGER Nothing to chose between these two older boys just met one today

in the best form. An attractive 7 year old clearly enjoying his day out. Correct dome to head and well

placed ears. Short well muscled neck leading to good forequarters and ribbing. Nice bend of stifle.

Moved out well, true coming and going.

      PB 3

1st & BPIB – Allenby RANGALI PIXIE A super puppy with a very feminine, appealing head and

expression just like her Grandmother! Standard size and balanced throughout with good pro-sternum,

level topline which she held on the move and good tail carriage. Please to see she went PHG4.

2nd Revens & Hyde BEABASS USHA Another very nice red wheaten puppy with a sweet expression,

nice dark eye. Strong neck leading to good forequarters, ribbed well back and muscled rear which she

used to power her around the ring. I am sure these two will exchange places many times in their show

      careers.

      YB 2(1)

1st Stevenson-Bramley REVENITE MRS BRIDGES Pleasing type with enough bone, good depth of

chest and straight front legs and standing on tight feet. Level topline which held on the move just a

shame she was not settled enough to hold her tail up. Hopefully this is just an awkward age and

       confidence gained.

       OB 6(2)

1st & BOB Mochan IR/INT CH BASLER WISECRACK One I have judged before and always liked

for her breed type and personality. She did not disappoint today. A pretty girl with correct head planes,

earset and folds, strong neck, nicely angulated quarters front and rear with good tailset. Plenty of length

to body and standing on tight feet. Harsh jacket and moved with purpose and drive.

2nd Russell CH SHIROBLAM SERENDIPITY Much to like about this girl. Attractive head with an alert

expression. Strong neck leading to good shoulders and prominent sternum. Good length of ribbing,

level topline and tailset. Well muscled rear and moved out straight and true, would just prefer a little

       more angulation.
