  BLACKPOOL CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW – 21/06/2024

  RHODESIAN RIDGEBACKS

Firstly I would like to start by saying a huge thank you to the committee for allowing me to judge

Ridgebacks and managing a well run show; to my two stewards who assisted me on the day and

to all the exhibitors who entered and accepted my decisions gracefully. Ridges were mainly

acceptable with just one or two off-set and crowns not clearly defined. Bites were all correct. There are

some really lovely dogs who went without cards today but this bodes well for the future of the breed.

We were blessed with dry weather that was not too hot for the dogs and with a bit of sun on their backs

showed them to their full potential.

  MPD 6 (1)

1st Parsons PRIORPARK PAR THE COURSE - 7 month old R/Wheaten puppy of moderate size for age

who is well put together with enough bone, standing on tight feet. Head still developing with a round

dark eye and kind expression. Excels in length of ribbing & loin. Clean neck, good front and quarters

with good width to second thigh. Well schooled and moved out freely. Well handled

2nd Strauja & Price CHIOKE FOR ZERI BY RIDGELOVE (Imp Svk) - Another 7 month old R/Wheaten dog

with an outgoing temperament and quite forward for age. Head of correct proportions with good depth

of muzzle. Nice front assembly but would prefer a little more rear angulation. Moved straight coming

         and and going.

  PD 6

1st BPD & BPIB Barnes DIAMOND DREADNOUGHT – Substantial R/Wheaten dog who is

up to size. Strong masculine head with a nice expression. He is well put together throughout with good

angulation fore and aft and well sprung ribs making a nice picture when stacked. Moved with drive, just

a little proud of his tail at this stage.

2nd Hicks NUTHOUSE MASTERMIND – Livernosed dog who I liked for his overall size and confirmation,

good depth of brisket and plenty of length to body, well arched toes and short nails! Nice level topline

that he held on the move with a positive, easy gait.

  JD 4 (1)

1st Barker DELIANZA WHAT`S YOUR MOTIVE – R/Wheaten dog showing much potential. There is

nothing to dislike about this boy. He has an attractive head, clean neck, depth of chest, well angulated

front and back, good length to body with strong topline. Well muscled and moved out withdrive.

Pushed hard for RDCC, pleased to see he was awarded Group 4 in Junior Group. I will watch his

          future with interest.

2nd Hicks NUTHOUSE MASTERMIND - 2nd in PD and continued to put his best foot forward.

  YD 2

1st Green & Thomson ROTTZRIDGE CELTIC LEGEND AT KOTAMURY – R/Wheaten dog who is within

standard height but still very much a baby in development although I am sure this will come in time.

Has a super well defined ridge. Moved out well and very sound.

2nd Johnson UNGOWA ON THE ROAD AGAIN – R/Wheaten, a bigger stamp of a dog than 1st but well

proportioned body, masculine head with a kind eye and in hard muscular condition which he used on

the move, just a little proud of his tail today.

  GD 4

1st Millward AMAHLE HOT LIKE FIRE – A young dog with so much to like, being quite mature for his age.

He is within standard height with plenty of bone, so well constructed throughout and standing on

compact feet. One of the best moving males on the day, at one with his handler. Would prefer a clearer

          coat colour.

2nd Green & Thomson ROTTZRIDGE CELTIC LEGEND AT KOTAMURY - 1st in YD just met one who is

          much more advanced in maturity.

  PGD 3

1st Whiteside JIMANNS JACKASS – A self coloured dog with an attractive head of correct planes and

good ear carriage, clean neck leading to good depth of chest and infil, well angulated fore and aft,

decent length to loin. Tight elbows. Moved and handled well. See he is litter brother to DCC winner

         and a similar type.

2nd Black & Black & Mckinlay ASHARAA DARK SIDE OF THE MOON AT GILEEJA - R/Wheaten

handsome dog with good ear set, clean neck, acceptable angulation fore and aft, good width to second

thigh. Well muscled and showed well, just not as mature as 1st.

  LD 11 (2)

1st Davies GUNTHWAITE FANCY MAN JW - R/Wheaten dog who is approaching 2 years old and looking

the complete article. In super coat condition and bright eyed. A houndy head framed by good ear

carriage. Well boned, tight feet. Nice front assembly matched with well angulated quarters. Moved well,

in all a credit to his owner.

2nd Dawson PRIORPARK PROBLEM SOLVED – A balanced 21 month old dog who is workmanlike with a

lot to like. Head of correct proportions with a nice dark eye, strong neck, nice forechest and infill. Strong

topline held on the move, well sprung ribs and when stacked covers a lot of ground. Moved with drive.

I am sure these 2 dogs will change places many times.

  OD 8(1)

1st DCC & BOB Muir JIMANNS ACE OF SPADES – This wheaten dog fills your eye when he walks into the

ring! At 3 years old he is mature and confident. He has a lovely masculine head, nice round eye

complimenting his coat colour, big ears that frame his head. Strong neck leading to a super front

assembly, good length of ribbing and strong loin leading to well muscled and angulated rear quarters

that powered him around the ring. Could not deny him top honours today which I understand is his

        4th CC.

2nd RDCC Webster KAZEMBE CRESCENDO – R/Wheaten quality dog within standard for height. Strong,

masculine head, nice dark round eye. Clean neck, good front assembly with deep, broad chest.

Liked his overall length, plenty of bone and stands on compact feet. Moved out freely and true. Well

handled, just met one today in such good form.

  VD 2

1st & BVIB Vincent IMOLA I`M YOUR MAN AT JEMATTI – I have judged this 7 year old dog twice before

and he never disappoints. Despite being above standard height he is balanced, in hard condition and in

movement could show the youngsters the way! moving out with drive. His greying adds to his maturity,

not losing the twinkle in his eyes. Standing on the best of feet. Pleased to award him BVIB despite

       standing alone in the challenge.

2nd Whiteside JIMANNS THE DOCTOR – Another veteran with much to like. He is moderate throughout

with no exaggerations, a lovely head and expression. Deep chested, good angulation fore and aft.

Plenty of bone, tight elbows and moves out freely.

  MPB 6 (1)

1st & BPB Kerr PRIORPARK PURE THEATRE AT BUHERA – 7 month old wheaten self coloured puppy

who is still very much a raw baby but has so much quaility and one to watch in the future. Attractive head

that continues to develp, nice round eye matching coat colour with ears that she needs to grow into.

Excels in length of ribbing & loin. Clean neck, good front and quarters with good width to second thigh.

Moves out with a puppy`s enthusiasm but did enough for her place today.

2nd Mcintosh & Mackfall CHAGALL IONA WITH ATTITUDE – Another 7 month old R/Wheaten puppy who

also shows much promise for the future. Just loved this puppy`s outgoing temperament and clearly

enjoying her day. Head of good proportions, clean neck, nice shoulder placement and infill of chest. In

body a little more compact than 1st but moved out well for one so young. Well handled.

  PB 7(2)

1st Mcintosh & Mackfall CHAGALL IONA WITH ATTITUDE - 2nd in MPB but won this class on her positive

        movement.

2nd Parsons PRIORPARK PREDICAMENT – Litter mates to MPD/MPB & JB, so very typical of this kennel

and little to chose between any of them today other than maturity, so I am sure they will all swap places

many times throughout their show careers. Nit-picking I just preferred the outgoing, happy temperament

       of 1st.

  JB 5

1st Parsons PRIORPARK PROOF IN PUDDING – 7 month R/Wheaten bitch who is much more developed

than her siblings. Very feminine head of correct proportions, well laid shoulders with good width to chest.

Ribbed well back and good length of loin, strong rear quarters. Excels in free and easy movement.

2nd Cyprien, Porter & Willunat HONEYBUSH CLOUDS NOVEL PRINCESS ZOLA WITH JOCERIK JW (Imp

Deu) - A confident 16 month old R/Wheaten bitch who has a pretty head, clean neck leading to well

angulated quarters, just a little shorter coupled than 1st. Enough bone and standing on tight feet, moving

out with drive. Star gazing making her look upright in shoulder when stacked.

 YB 4(1)

1st Willoughby KASEMBE CULT CLASSIC – Pretty R/Wheaten bitch with some attractive white markings,

a strong neck leading to well muscled quarters used to drive her around the ring and enjoying her day,

plenty of bone, spring of rib and a level topline. See she is sired by the DRCC winner and has many of

        his qualities.

2nd Torr MANNEQUIN TASJA ARTE CASSERI AT BOVIJO (imp SVK) – A R/Wheaten girl who is quite

mature for her age. Feminine outlook with good depth of muzzle, balanced and muscular without

coarseness. Used the ring to advantage when moving. Just preferred the forechest of 1st.

  GB 7(3)

1st Connelly & Mumford MUTUMA MORRIGAN - A Wheaten bitch who seems to be maturing nicely, with

head of good proportions and an appealing outlook. Well filled forechest, nice angulation fore and aft,

shapely bodied. Plenty of bone and standing on compact feet. Moved out with drive and reach. Liked her

       size and clear coat colour.

2nd Walker MARKELIZ TEA TIME TWO – At just turned 2 years old this girl still has some maturing to do but

coming on nicely. Attractive head with good length and depth of muzzle, clean neck leading to good

front assembly. Lots of length to ribbing and loin. Level topline which she held on the move. She scored

today on her long easy strides, at one with her handler.

  PGB 6(2)

1st Connelly & Mumford MUTUMA MORRIGAN - 1st in GB class and continued to show well.

2nd Willunat GAMBIA SIRIUS-CANIS MAIOR AT CLAUWILL (Imp Pol) – Much to like about this young bitch.

Good confirmation, deep chest and good length of body. Nicely muscled which she used to move

around the ring. Would prefer a little less tuck up but this may alter as she matures on.

  LB 14(3)

1st & BCC Barnes DIAMONDRIDGE KAZEMBE GOLDEN AGE JW - There is nothing flash about this

young girl and typical of the breed she does just enough! But could not deny her today as she is so well

balanced throughout, combining elegance with substance and a sweet expression. Moving straight

and true. Pleased to award her 2nd CC I am sure she will gain her “crown” at a future show.

2nd & RBCC Webster KAZEMBE ORLA `BOUT ME – Litter sister to 1st and a very similar type in head,

construction and elegance, just slightly more compact. Standing on super tight feet. Where she scored

today was in her lovely free and easy movement alongside her handler.

  OB 10(1)

1st Bates CH GUNTHWAITES AYR OF ELEGANCE JW – This young R/Wheaten bitch is typical of this

kennel, always turned out in the best condition and handled masterfully to maximise her potential. She

has a lovely dark eye and kind expression. Correct angulation both front and rear, good length of ribbing,

moved out well. I am sure she will accrue many more CCs in the future.

2nd Parsons CH PRIORPARK POETRY IN MOTION JW – Another young bitch who has done a lot of

winning from a young age and thoroughly deserves her crown. There is very little difference between

these two bitches in size, conformation, construction and condition. I just preferred the head of 1st.
