1ST Trailhunters Mr Tor (Miss N V & Miss R March & Smith)

Delightful puppy who stood alone so had little time to settle but handled it like a pro. G/W with a very typical head, nice ear set and an alert but kind expression. For his age, he presented a very promising athletic picture standing, with super proportions and angles, decent croup and correct pasterns. His movement reflected this; very tidy on the out and back and covering a lot of ground in profile. Went BPiB over a very impressive young lady.

Junior Dog

Entries: 2 Absentees: 0

Two proper “inbetweeners” at slightly different stages in the transition from puppy to their adult selves. A slightly awkward adolescence is perfectly normal in this breed. Moving, neither wanted to help their handlers out much today and found the experience, and the grass, very exciting.

1ST Komaksiut's Glen Devon Av Ratatuyak at Ceannabeinne (Imp Nld) (Mr H H & Mrs J M Wakker)

Promising B&W with an attractive head and good ear set (although his ears did on occasion slide off the sides a bit in response to his surroundings). He is shaping up to have a nice shoulder and good chest proportions. Nicely angled croup and good tail set. Although the ring was clearly very distracting, he showed he can move with purpose, keeping a steady topline.

2ND Eversepp Tennessee (Mrs R & Mr D Sharp)

Raw youngster who was at an “all legs” stage of development when I had the pleasure of going over him. Medium bone and well-muscled. Nice feet and correct pasterns. He proved a challenge for his handler on the move but showed a substantial ground covering stride. Handsome head, beguiling expression and well-set ears. He probably needs hours to settle before entering the ring.

1ST Polarquest Queens Company (Miss A Shelford)

Impressive G&W youngster with a beautiful profile both standing and on the move. Excellent bone lengths, balanced front and rear with all the essential shock absorbing angles well developed throughout. Lovely proportions through the ribcage and loin. Correct croup and carried his tail nicely. Pleasing head that still has some maturing to do, and sweet, interested expression. In athletic condition with the correct muscle. Excelled on the move and got better and better as his opportunities to go around the ring went on. He is very precise in footfall making his out and back today near pad perfect. Effortless, ground covering movement. Presented and shown well by a handler who made the most of what was a nice-sized ring. He went up a notch further in the challenge and was rewarded with the RCC.

2ND Korva Crazy Cornetto at Sybasprinter (Ms P & Mr H Amphlett & Sym)

Another super young man who pushed 1 in terms of construction and appearance. Beautiful masculine appearance, free of exaggeration, with the correct proportions, bone lengths and angulation to cover maximum ground as a sled dog with minimum physical stress. Gorgeous head, ear set and an expression that could melt rocks. Well-presented and handled. Not as tidy as 1 on the out and back and in today’s conditions, in today’s ring, did not cover the same amount of ground per stride going around.

1ST Arctictreks Moroccan Moon (Mr R J & Mrs Kl Beirne)

Lovely G/W piebald who overcame his initial reticence about entering the ring with sympathetic handling to bravely pull out the stops to please his mum and delight the judge. While he remained very aware of the potential “hazards” the scary show ring environment offered, this did not detract from his performance. Such a nicely built, athletic young male with a correct shoulder and balanced hindquarters, correct croup and tail set. Medium bone, substance without coarseness and idea bone lengths and proportions through the chest and loin. Handsome, masculine head with correct ear set when he gave his ears a rest from listening to everything going on around him. Sound and clean on the out and back and covered lots of ground very easily going around the ring.

2ND Klewagin Grant Gunnar (Mr I & Mrs T E Wakeling)

Dark G/W with a lovely head, ear set and attentive bright expression. Liked him a lot. Excellent front and shoulder construction, good chest proportion but slightly preferred the rib cage to loin ratio of 1. Rear angulation matches the front with a correct croup and nicely carried tail. Today he wasn’t as precise as 1 on the out and back but moved very nicely around the ring, covering enough ground.

Lovely class.

1ST Trailhunters Polar Breeze for Janskcoo (Miss J Cooper)

This boy presents an exceptional picture on the stand with his attributes obvious from right across the ring. I think a key word in describing him is “flow”; the correct bone lengths, shock absorbing angles and ideal proportions run so smoothly into each other you feel you could draw his outline in a single freehand stroke. Strong, flexible topline with correct slight arch over the loin and an excellent croup. Everything held together by hard, breed appropriate muscle. Masculine head without a trace of coarseness. Kind expression with a hint of mischief. He is precise on the out and back, foot fall controlled even at speed with elbows and stifles exactly where they should be. His side movement is light-footed and graceful. He covers plenty of ground with balanced reach and drive and comes into his own on the second go around the ring without any sense of fatigue or loss of fluidity. Very engaged with his handler, always “on”. Super boy who I was incredibly pleased to award the DCC and BOB.

2ND Sirocco of Winterspirit at Tsaritsa (Mr & Mrs Biddlecombe)

This very impressive boy has a huge stride and presents a beautiful picture of balance and masculinity on the stand. He is a dog who grabs your attention, whose construction screams sled dog, another fabulous male with ideal bone lengths, angulation and proportions to maximise athletic ability and minimise physical stress. Loved him. Very engaged with his handler and didn’t stop showing, his profile movement is quite stunning. However, in today’s conditions and in today’s ring, he was not moving with enough precision on the out and back in the class or when he came back into the challenge to take the top honours on this occasion. May take some experimenting with pace moving him perhaps.

1ST Bifrost Chayka Sound's (J R M Foard)

Loved the athleticism of this dark G/W male. Another male whose construction is geared to maximum performance at minimum effort. Particularly liked the proportions of his chest through to loin supported by correct bone lengths all round and ideal angles giving a picture of endurance and strength. Strong, flexible top line with slight arch over the loin, excellent croup and tail beautifully carried. Super length of neck into correct shoulder. Rock hard condition. All of this translated into graceful ground covering movement in profile. Sound as a pound on the out and back. Love his head and expression. Beautifully engaged with his handler. He seemed to lose a bit of his presence in the challenge and was up against dogs who were pushing hard for the top award.

2ND Icebex Dare to Be Different (Miss R Cunningham)

Another very nicely balanced G/W with an attractive masculine head with attentive, warm expression, graceful neck flowing into a good shoulder with matching hindquarter angulation. Well-presented and shown to good advantage, he showed ground covering profile movement with balanced reach and drive. Not quite as precise as 1 today on the out and back. Strong ring presence, handler engagement, and never stopped showing throughout.

Lovely class with close decisions.

1ST Ch Janskcoo's Fortitude JW (Miss J Cooper)

Handsome G/W who has deservedly gained his crown since I last judged him. He has a strikingly handsome and masculine head paired with an alert, friendly demeanour. This dog has excellent front construction, featuring a well-proportioned upper arm and beautifully aligned shoulders. His topline is strong, displaying a gentle arch over the loin, exuding strength while staying flexible in motion. He moves with confidence and precision, surefooted on the out and back, and covers the ring with impressive ease and grace. The experience he has gained in the ring over his career is clear and he showed every second in the challenge for the green cards.

2ND Ch Shaytaan's Doctor Watson at Ceannabeinne (Imp Can) (Mr H H & Mrs J M Wakker)

Glimmering white with a lovely head and the most beguiling expression. Another of our breed’s wonderful champions. Pushed 1 hard and shares many attributes including a super front construction with good length of upper arm into a correct shoulder, balanced with excellent hindquarters. Another dog with an excellent topline with gentle arch over the loin that is strong but never rigid on the move. Graceful, ground covering stride in profile. On this day, in this ring, I felt 1 was slightly more precise on the out and back. I loved him and I had to split hairs on this decision but felt the greater confidence of 1 gave him the edge in how he presented.

3RD Penkhalas Itaska (Mr R J & Mrs Kl Beirne)

Minor Puppy Bitch

Entries: 5 Absentees: 0

Nice class of puppies, including two real babies who were handled beautifully but just need to grow on a little bit.

1ST Trailhunters Vixen Tor in Wightflight (Ms J D Platt)

Placed highest of three very promising litter sisters who clearly had not read the “how to show” book their brother had enacted early today. G/W already shows promising balance and poise. She has a feminine head with well-set ears and presents a pleasing silhouette when standing, highlighted by a graceful neck, well-formed front and shoulders, and a strong topline that she maintains in motion. Displaying happiness and confidence, she was the most controlled of the three siblings moving around the ring, though her exuberance came out in her rather playful and unrestrained movement on the out and back.

2ND Trailhunters Raven Rock (Miss N V & Miss R March & Smith)

Another pretty G/W, s boasts an elegant neck length and a well-formed front. She keeps a solid topline while moving, covering ground with her light-footed gait around the ring until she clearly got bored with the proceedings and laid down in protest. Spirited nature that her handler is clearly going to have to find a way to channel in the ring. These three sisters are going to be fun to watch in the ring as they mature,

1ST Siberiadrift Hocus Pocus (Miss R L & Mr T J Freeman & Wakefield)

Stood alone but thoroughly deserved the class win. A dark G/W, dark faced young lady who presented a lovely outline with nicely balanced angles and proportions, painting a picture of balance and harmony at this stage in her development. Her head is feminine and striking, complementing her graceful neck and strong topline. The well-formed croup and tail set add to her attractive silhouette. Moving around the ring, she covered the ground effortlessly, displaying neat and precise movement on both the approach and return. She was unlucky to come against the male BP in the challenge for BPIB who was still full of himself after a long day while she seemed like she was rather done with it all today.

1ST Forstal’s Polyanthus (Ms T Evans)

This lovely G/W youngster was flawless in her performance, never putting a foot wrong. She boasts a very pretty, feminine head and features a well-structured front and refined shoulders with balanced angulation in her hindquarters. Good proportions through the ribcage and loin. Her topline is both firm and flexible. Still young and a lot of maturing to do, she already presents a rather elegant, athletic picture maintaining this poised profile on the move while covering plenty of ground with ease. Exceptionally sound, she was well handled and beautifully presented despite being in her summer attire. Very much at one with her mum and was kept engaged right through into the challenge for Best Junior which she was awarded.

2ND Mydisa Hielan Peelie Waaly at Klewagin (Mr I & Mrs T E Wakeling)

Another very nice young lady. This white shows good bone structure and well-balanced angulation, brimming with potential. She features a correct croup and nicely carried tail. Her movement around the ring is fluid and ground covering. A little less surefooted on the out and back than 1. Lovely head and good ear set.

1ST Siberiadrift Daring Minx from Icebex JW (Miss R Cunningham)

Striking looking dilute B/W. Good length of neck into a correct shoulder, good and balanced angulation in her front and hind quarters. Good proportions through her ribcage and loin with a strong topline which she keeps on the move. Correct slightly sloping pasterns and a lovely descent through her croup into a nicely set tail. Lovely ground covering movement and very sound on the out and back. Super girl with a lot of ring presence and good engagement with her handler.

2ND Pekakicali Shaya at Trailhunters (Miss N V & Miss R March & Smith)

Pale G/W. Lovely young lady with a flowing, athletic outline. Superb shoulder, through to well held topline with a slight rise over her loin. Excellent chest proportions and beautifully balanced through her ribcage and loin. Balanced angles throughout and held together by lean, correct muscle for the breed. A really lovely head and correct ear set. Her profile movement flows but I preferred the foot placement of 1 on the out and back. Perhaps her handler needs to experiment with pace when moving with her for best advantage.

Post Graduate Bitch

1ST Siberiadrift Daring Sage (Mrs K Hughes)

Litter sister to the winner of the earlier class, this attractive G/W stood out with her impeccable performance, never missing a step. She features a pretty, feminine head and displays a well-structured front complemented by nicely defined shoulders and good chest proportions. Slightly longer in the loin than her sister, she keeps a firm topline that highlights her graceful and ground-covering movement. It will be important to keep her in hard condition to preserve this strength of topline on the move. Her movement is both sound and steady, reflecting her excellent handling and beautiful presentation.

2ND Keriquel Roving Jewel at Trailhunters (Miss N V & Miss R March & Smith)

Another very nice G/W presented in well-muscled condition. Nicely constructed with an elegance to her neck, a firm but flexible topline with slight rise over the loin and a correct croup and tail set. Lovely athletic outline with balanced angulation, good bone lengths and a really attractive head. Covering plenty of ground on the go around but preferred the precision today of 1.

1ST Icebex Morning Steeler (Miss K & Miss R Munday & Cunningham)

G/W who I loved when I judged her as a reticent youngster and who has blossomed into a superb female brought out of herself by sympathetic handling. She typifies our breed’s athleticism, put together for maximum performance with minimal effort and physical stress. Her graceful neck joins seamlessly into an excellent shoulder, all smooth lines enhanced by her rock-solid condition. A well-proportioned chest flows into her loin with slight tuck up, supported by optimal bone lengths and ideal angulation front and rear, which create a picture of robust capability without sacrificing femininity and grace. Her topline is strong and flexible, gracefully arching slightly over the loin and leading into an excellent croup and beautifully carried tail. These attributes translate into an impressive stride that is light footed and free flowing, covering so much ground so effortlessly in profile, and her movement on the out and back is as steady and sound as they come. Topped by a lovely head with a melting expression. Loved her and was absolutely delighted to award her the BCC.

2ND Keriquel Rose Royale (Mr R & Mrs S Sargent)

Another G/W who I loved today. She is a delightful dog with a beautiful head and a charming expression. She has a good length of neck and an elegant, athletic profile that stays distinctly feminine. Her topline is strong, with a gentle rise over the loin and a slight tuck-up, flowing into a smoothly sloping croup and a well-carried tail. A picture of balance, contributing to her powerful and efficient movement. Covers plenty of ground around the ring and very precise on the out and back. With medium bone, she embodies a perfect mix of strength and grace, highlighting all the best qualities of our working breed.

1ST Zarchenski Taboo Zilp at Pocketsibes (Dr K & Mr J Brown)

This elegant and athletic G/W immediately caught my eye. Her ideal proportions present a lovely picture, featuring a super front, graceful neck flowing into an excellent shoulder, correctly angled, shock absorbing pasterns and tight well-padded feet. She has a well-proportioned chest, a good length of loin and a well-angled croup that transitions smoothly to a nicely set tail. Her hindquarters are perfectly balanced to her front and well-constructed. She boasts a beautiful head with a captivating expression, and just seems so very sweet. Super engaged with her handler. On the move, she was flawless, covering ground with a sound and balanced gait. I didn’t feel she pushed quite so hard in the Challenge and she was competing against other fabulous movers. Loved her.

2ND Ch Icynights Devils Desire (Ms S Jones)

This B/W female is the epitome of her breed’s charm and is rightly a champion. She has a lovely, foxy head with an endearing expression that radiates a sweet nature. Exceptionally well-balanced, she boasts an excellent topline that contributes to her graceful and elegant silhouette. Her movement is superb, effortlessly covering ground with ease and precision. Whether going out or coming back, she is sound and steady, embodying the breed’s ideal traits. Presented beautifully and completely engaged and working with her handler.

Not enough places in this quality class and really had to split hairs as to who made the line up and who sadly didn’t.

1ST Ch Joy Av Vargevass at Polarquest (Imp Nor) (Miss A Shelford)

This G/W bitch who I have liked a lot previously is an excellent example of the breed and stood out as one of the top movers of the day. She is beautifully balanced, with ideal front and rear construction and perfectly angled pasterns. Her ribcage length is perfectly proportionate to her loin, complemented by a correct, slight tuck-up. She keeps a strong topline with a gentle rise over the loin, leading into an excellent croup and a beautifully carried tail. She truly exemplifies the athletic and balanced nature of a sled dog. Her movement is fantastic, nailing the out and back and effortlessly eating up the ring. She went up a gear in the challenge and her performance earned her the RCC, matching the achievement of her son, to whom I had earlier awarded the Reserve Dog Challenge Certificate.

2ND Penkhalas Kaska (Mr A S & Ms P M Bowering & Evans)

It's hard to believe that this lovely G/W is not a youngster. She delivered a flawless performance, never putting a foot wrong. With her very pretty, feminine head and well-structured front, she features refined shoulders and balanced angulation in her hindquarters. Her proportions through the ribcage and loin are excellent. Her topline is both firm and flexible, contributing to an elegant, athletic silhouette. She keeps this poised profile effortlessly while moving, covering plenty of ground with ease. Exceptionally sound and well-handled, she was beautifully presented and stood out in a lovely class of veteran girls.

3RD Chatanika's Dragongirl over Navajos (Mr & Mrs M R N Emery)
