Richmond Dog Show Society

I should like to thank the Secretary, Officers and Committee for their most generous invitation to Judge at this most prestigious show. I thoroughly enjoyed my day and the opportunity to assess many quality dogs and the sporting way that all my placing’s were received. The hospitality extended to me throughout my time spent at Richmond was excellent.

1ST Davies, Mrs C, Adonis Sheep On The Hunt At Barbmor (Imp Pol) (Barbet): Upstanding and balanced male of just 18 months of age – very impressive both standing and when one gets hands-on. In very good coat. Shown and handled extremely well. Very good head and eye, strong muzzle with correct, clean and complete dentition. Muscular neck into very good forehand assembly, deep chest of good width, well-ribbed back into muscular loin and moderate but muscled hindquarters. Moved very well in all planes. Reserve Best Dog.

2ND Fox, Mrs L & Stilgoe, Mr P & Mrs D,Teisgol King Arthur (Portuguese Pointer): A balanced male of 2 years of age. Of very good type and correct breed movement. Very good head and skull. Dentition correct, clean and complete. Muscular and slightly arched neck. Shoulders well laid back, chest deep, brisket to level with elbows. Short coupled, muscular hindquarters, coat short and hard. Very good feet and short nails. Moved soundly but not with the enthusiasm of my first placed exhibit.

1ST Cooper, Miss L, Swiss Sh Ch, Int Ch Gameglow Playmaker Ww’23 (Braque D’auvergne): Well presented and expertly shown male of 4 years of age. Well balanced and free from exaggeration. Very good head with ears that are well placed, strong muzzle with dentition that is correct, clean and complete., strong slightly arched neck into well placed shoulders, strong pasterns, tight feet, chest of good depth and width, ribs well sprung, strong loin, moderate hind quarters, moved extremely well in all planes. Best Dog.

2ND Burton, Mrs W, Novaforesta Sporting Life (Barbet): Of pleasing overall type but very immature and of 15 months of age – a credit to his owner. Balanced, clean head and pleasing expression, dentition correct, clean and complete. Strong neck into well placed shoulder, ribs well sprung, strong loin, well made hindquarters that are moderately angled. Moved soundly when asked. With this young male he just requires time as he is of very good overall breed type.

Post Graduate Bitch (3, 1abs)

1ST Boughton, Mrs B, Parkbalk Ariel Dianell (Braque D’auvergne): I really liked this young bitch of 21 months of age. Of good overall balance and proportions and breed type – she just needs to fill her frame, which will come with maturity. Presented and shown well today. Lovely head and expression. Correct, clean and complete dentition. Good ear placement and carriage. Super neck into well placed shoulders. Well made hindquarters. Very good bone and feet, nails could have been shorter. Moved well showing accurate free flowing movement both fore and aft. Reserve Best Bitch.

2ND Hill, Mrs L, Novaforesta In A Nutshell At Wittlebare (Barbet): A pleasing bitch of 21 months of age. Feminine and balanced head, correct, clean and complete dentition, clean neck into a good forehand assembly, deep chest into good loin and moderate hindquarters. Moved soundly.

Open Bitch (3, 1abs)

1ST Taylor, Mr M W, Swiss Sh Ch Fabpoint Pagan Through Pointoak Ww’23 (Portuguese Pointer): This bitch of just over 2½ years of age is quite simply of outstanding quality and breed type. old Exudes and exemplifies breed type for the point of her nose to the tip of her tail. I loved her the moment she stepped into my ring and she did not disappoint me once I had got my hands on her. So very well balanced all through and free of any exaggeration or coarseness. Presented in super condition and a lovely picture in outline and profile. Excellent head and skull completely in proportion to the body with well-defined stop, and correct eye giving alert expression. Correct, clean and complete dentition. Strong neck into well placed shoulders and corresponding return of upper arm with deep chest of good width with brisket reaching the elbows. Level topline. Coat of excellent quality. Good spring of rib, with strong loin and well muscled hindquarters, with clear and definite second thigh. Tight feet. Super quality bone all through. Moved well and accurately both fore, aft and in profile whenever asked by her excellent handler who really did very ounce out of her. Best Bitch & Best Of Breed.

2ND Davies, Mrs C, Yello Vam Zulimo Mit Barbamor (Imp Ch) (Barbet): A well presented and shown bitch of 2½ years of age who was beaten today by any outstanding exhibit. Very nice head and lovely expression, correct, clean and complete dentition, strong neck into good forehand assembly, good body and moderate, muscled hindquarters. Moved soundly.
