Many thanks to the officers and committee for the invitation to judge at this wonderful show, the grounds were good and the weather perfect. It was a lovely atmosphere and I hope the exhibitors enjoyed it as much as myself. I was delighted with the entry and quality contained within it, unfortunately there are only one set of green cards to be awarded and when judging whippets, it would be easy to hand out several sets. It was pleasing to see some quality youngsters & puppies coming through. It was a delight for the breed to see all the principle winners do so well in their respective groups. In the hound group the BOB was awarded Group 2, after putting in a great performance. The puppy winner went on to take 1st in the strong puppy group a feat matched by the special beginner winner, who nailed top spot. In the veteran group the whippet was again rewarded with a group 2. Well done the exhibitors, a great day for all and many thanks to all the exhibitors for entering your dogs under me.

The last time I judged the breed, some 2 years ago, I note I had these as 1 & 2 in puppy dog and gave them glowing critiques, it is lovely to see what they have grown into and see what they have achieved and fulfilled their early potential. They are both on top form and in peak condition.

1st: 3792 PERKINS, Mrs C & VAN DER SCHAAF, Mr K Ch Creme Anglaise's Just Julian With Silkridge. As a puppy I wrote.. , “brindle and white, full of breed type, balanced and so mature for age, already looks the completed picture and his movement is faultless, from every angle. Loved his typical head, bright eye and expression. Flowing neck, clean well laid shoulders and correct front. Good depth and lovely topline which he kept on the move. Put down in great condition. Will have some future”. These comments remain. In addition he has matured and is all male, with power and muscle in abundance and a good strong loin. Is movement never falters , so sound, clean, ground covering and always maintaining a correct topline. Please to award him the CC and he deserved BOB for his precise movement. Lovely to see him put on a foot perfect performance in the big ring and clinch group 2.

2nd: 3831 WHEELER, Mr Rob Ch Ranveli Diki Diki. Again as a puppy I wrote.. “Another cracking puppy, 9 month brindle, good for size, balance and type. Clean through a balanced head, sparkling eye and alert expression. Good neck, lay of shoulder and depth of chest. Flowing topline and undercarriage. Nice profile stacked and on the move”. Today he was at his best, put down in great condition and was a picture stacked, he has improved as time has past and is now the finished picture. Delighted to have the chance to go over him & award him the RCC.
