A lovely entry with quality in depth, I was spoilt for choice, particularly in the higher classes.
VD (1 Entry, Abs 0)
1st Van Ulsens’ Int Ch Norw Fin PL Swed NL Ch Lux Ch Lundecock's Final Salute
Beautifully balanced sable boy, nice for size and substance with a pleasing outline. Appealing head and expression with flat skull, correct stop, rounded muzzle, good underjaw, dark almond shaped eye and neat well carried ears. He has a good reach of neck, well laid shoulders, good depth of chest, level topline, lovely sweep over croup, and well angulated hindquarters, so moved with drive.
MPD (4,1)
1st Foy & Hawkins’ Beldones Just A Hunch
8 months boy with a good balance of skull to muzzle, well filled foreface, dark almond shaped eye, and neatly tipped ears, combining to give a very sweet expression. He has good bone for his ideal size, enough neck and good layback of shoulder, level topline, gentle sweep over croup, and his hind angulation is balanced with his front angulation so he moved soundly.
2nd Rossiters’ Cocaro The Highlander
6 month shaded s/w baby, quite raw and a little bit overawed by his surroundings. He too has a sweet head and expression, with parallel planes of skull to muzzle, slight stop, a dark obliquely set eye, and good ear carriage, though still needs to fill in foreface. He carries his head proudly on a well arched neck, level topline and sweep over the croup, long enough tail, and he is well angulated at both ends so moved true with good reach in profile.
3rd Folkes’ Navy Blue Of Most Majestic At Dacfolke (Imp)
PD (4 Entries) Abs 0
1st Hardy’s Sandwick Ace Of Hearts
B/w, liked his overall balance, he is well constructed with a good layback of shoulder and length of upper arm, with his elbow under the withers, level topline, and gentle sweep over croup, good bend of stifle, and well let down hocks. His head is balanced with a flat skull, nicely rounded foreface, dark eye, neat ears when he deigned to use them, he still needs to fill under the eyes but this will come. He was a very sound mover from all angles.
2nd Rutterford’s Myter Black Tarquin At Stormhead
Really well schooled tri shown in good coat of harsh texture. He too is well made with enough bone for his ideal size, balanced angulations, level topline and sweep over croup to low set tail . He shows non stop with neatly tipped ears, nicely placed and shaped eye, flat skull, correct stop, still needs to fill in foreface. He moved very soundly. I was splitting hairs here but just preferred the reach of neck of 1st.
3rd Robinson’s Alnmac We Will Rock You
JD (4,1)
1st Parker’s Edglonian Prime Target With Tolarock
Shaded s/w, would not like him any bigger, but he has excellent conformation with a strong well arched neck, good layback of shoulder and length of upper arm, good depth of chest, level topline, gentle sweep over croup, good bend of stifle and well let down hocks. His head proportions are correct though he still needs to fill under the eyes and I would prefer more underjaw, he has nicely placed and well used ears, and a dark almond shaped eye, giving a sweet yet masculine expression. Moved as his construction would suggest which won him this placing.
2nd Procter’s Ferngroves Skywalker
A size smaller g/s boy, with a pleasing outline. He has parallel planes of skull to muzzle and correct stop, neat well used ears and dark almond shaped eyes, giving a sweet expression, though he too needs to fill under the eyes. His angulation is balanced at both ends, he has a good reach of neck, level topline and graceful sweep over the croup. Another very well schooled youngster who moved soundly and showed well.
3rd Forster-Cooper’s Sheltysham Danseur TAF
YD (1,0)
1st Winfield’s Oakcroft The Mandalorian
Attractive s/w, stood alone but well deserved this placing. Attentive showman with dark eye and neatly tipped ears, flat skull, slight stop, rounded muzzle and enough underjaw. He is nice for size and substance, with a good reach of neck, well laid shoulder and good length of upper arm, level topline and sloping croup to low set tail, good bend of stifle and well let down hocks. Covered the ground easily with good reach and drive.

1st Myter Black Tarquin At Stormhead
2nd Ferngroves Skywalker
GD (4,0)
1st Dimmocks’ Milesend Silver Thorn
Nicely coloured b/m, lacking coat under his belly which made him look “on the leg” but he is actually very well balanced with a correct length to height ratio. Very pleasing head with rich tan markings, parallel planes, correct stop, nicely rounded muzzle, almond shaped obliquely set blue eyes, and neatly tipped ears carried alertly. He has enough neck, well laid shoulders and good depth of chest, level topline and sweep over loin, and well muscled hindquarters. Moved well from all angles.
2nd Varnom’s Milesend Black Tartan
Smart tricolour of ideal size and substance. Preferred the head properties of 1st as this boy is a shade deep in stop and his ears could be carried tighter, but he has a flat skull, well filled foreface and dark obliquely set eye giving the desired sweet expression. He has a good reach of neck enhanced by a white collar, and is well angulated at both ends so moved soundly.
3rd Myter Black Tarquin At Stormhead
PGD (6,1)
1st Pierces’ Philhope In Good Taste
Eye-catching g/s boy with a full white collar. My notes say “classic Sheltie head”, he is sweet yet still masculine with correct proportions of skull to muzzle, slight but definite stop, smooth cheeks, rounded muzzle with enough underjaw, a dark obliquely set almond shaped eye and neatly tipped ears. He has a muscular well arched neck, good layback of shoulder and length of upper arm, enough depth of chest, straight front with good bone, level topline, gentle sweep over croup, long enough tail, good bend of stifle, and well let down hocks. Moved as his construction would suggest, with good reach and drive.
2nd Revill’s Mosardi Don't Stop
B/m of good colour, well broken and of harsh texture. He also has a pleasing head and sweet expression with parallel planes of skull to muzzle, enough stop, a dark almond shaped eye and well carried ears. He is well put together with a good reach of neck, good layback of shoulder and length of upper arm so his elbow is under the withers, straight front with flexible pasterns, level topline, long enough tail and well angulated hindquarters. He moved true but could not match the profile movement of 1st.
3rd Varnom’s Milesend Blue Jeans
LD (13,2)
1st Mottrams’ Lundecock's Hoopie-doo At Lochkaren JW (Imp Swe)
Lots to like about this glamorous g/s, he is of perfect size and very well balanced. His head proportions are correct with a nicely rounded muzzle, good underjaw, and dark obliquely set eye giving the desired Sheltie expression. His gleaming white collar shows off his muscular well arched neck, good layback of shoulder, level topline, graceful sweep over croup to a low set tail and well angulated hindquarters. Moved well from all angles.
2nd Brady & Lynn’s Afterglow Sky Miles To Bordercot
Nicely broken b/m with a good harsh coat. He has a pleasing head with parallel planes, flat skull, correct stop, nicely rounded foreface, dark eye and neatly tipped ears which he used non stop. His construction is copybook with a good reach of neck, well angulated forequarters and hindquarters to match, lovely bone for his ideal size, level topline and gentle sweep over croup. He could be moved slower to advantage as he scuttles ahead of his handler, a slightly more collected pace would show off his profile movement better.
3rd Stafford’s Rannerdale The Tramp
OD (7,1)
1st Pearson’s Ch Edglonian Golden Graham CC BOB & PG3
Difficult to look past this s/w boy as he had all that I was looking for in a Sheltie. He has the sweetest expression, yet definitely male, his head is moulded with a flat skull, correct stop, smooth cheeks, nicely rounded foreface, good underjaw, perfectly placed and shaped dark eye, and neat ears, ever attentive to his handler. He is so well balanced with a super outline, muscular well arched neck, good forehand angulation, straight front with flexible pasterns, level topline and graceful sweep over the croup to a low set tail, good bend of stifle and well let down hocks. He moved with good reach and drive, and stood naturally foursquare at all times.
2nd Robinson’s Ch Lavika Deep Blue Ocean RCC
B/m of lovely colour well broken, old favourite of mine and unlucky to meet 1st on the day. He too has a sweet yet masculine head, good balance of skull to muzzle, well filled foreface, good underjaw, obliquely set almond shaped blue eyes, and well carried ears. Pleasing outline, of correct size with good bone, good reach of neck, level topline, gentle sweep over croup, very well angulated forequarters complemented by a good bend of stifle and well let down hocks. He too moved very soundly coming and going and in profile. As always was presented and shown to advantage.
3rd Walker’s Ch Fr Int Ch Lux Ch Swiss Tooralie's Pie In The Sky
SBD (2,0)
1st Mettan-Ure’s Oakcrofts Venturer BSB
Sweet s/w, at the lower end of the size range but with enough substance. He has correct head proportions with a slight stop, nicely rounded muzzle, a dark obliquely set eye and perfect ear carriage, all combining to give a charming expression. He stood naturally foursquare on good legs and feet, he has a good reach of neck, level topline, the desired sweep over croup to a low set tail, and his angulation is balanced at both ends so he moved true. Delighted to hear later that he won the Pastoral Special Beginners Group – well done!
2nd Ferguson’s Dinmore Wild Blue Yonder Of Fervaila
B/m of good colour, well broken, and good harsh texture. He is a big boy, but well-proportioned with a good reach of neck, well laid shoulders and length of upper arm, level topline and sweep over croup to a long tail. He has parallel planes, a dark eye, nicely rounded muzzle and good underjaw, but is a shade broad in skull so his ears are wide set, although they are nicely tipped and used well. He was somewhat erratic on the move, but this was down to his handler rather than his conformation.
VB (5 ,1)
1st Redpath’s Sonymer Storm Doris Into Pathaaron JW
Very shapely tricolour with a full white collar which enhances her good reach of neck. She has nice round bone for her ideal size, well laid shoulders and length of upper arm with her elbows right under the withers, good depth of chest, level topline and gentle sweep over the croup, very good bend of stifle, well let down hocks, and a long enough tail. Her head is pleasing with a good balance of skull to muzzle, flat skull, just the right amount of stop, nicely rounded foreface, neatly tipped ears, and although her eye could be slightly more almond shaped it does not detract from her sweet expression. She really flowed round the ring with reach and drive.
2nd Hirst’s Sundark Simply A Star VW
11 year old, another in super condition for her age with tremendous muscle on her hindquarters. She is nice for size with plenty of substance, with good forehand angulation, a straight front, flexible pasterns, level topline, good bend of stifle, and well let down hocks. She is an attentive showgirl using her neatly tipped ears all the time, her head is balanced with a flat skull and nicely rounded muzzle, good dentition and underjaw. Moved as her construction would suggest, just preferred the reach of neck of 1st.
3rd Robinson’s Ch Lavika Black Beauty JW
MPB (7,1)
1st Mayhew’s Sandwick Saffron Gold
Feminine g/s, perfect for size, and lovely make and shape. Her head handles well with smooth cheeks, flat skull, enough stop, nicely rounded muzzle, good underjaw, a dark obliquely set eye and neat well carried ears giving the sweetest expression. She has a super reach of neck, level topline and graceful sweep over croup, and she excels in forehand angulation, complemented by a good bend of stifle and well let down hocks, enabling her to move with reach and drive. Very promising puppy.
2nd Hateley’s Mohnesee's Ninabelle
Close decision, 1st just had the edge in maturity on the day. Plain g/s with similar attributes, very well put together with a well arched neck, well angulated forequarters, straight front with flexible pasterns and round bone, level topline and pretty sweep over croup to a low set tail. Another classic Sheltie head with parallel planes, correct stop, rounded muzzle, good underjaw, neat well carried ears and dark obliquely set almond shaped eye giving a sweet expression. Sound ground covering movement.
3rd Hill’s Cocaro Contraband
PB (9,1)
1st Robinson’s Dippersmoor Dazzling Star BP
Plain shaded s/w with a captivating expression, she has a nicely moulded head with flat skull, smooth cheeks, slight stop, rounded muzzle with enough underjaw, neatly tipped ears and a really dark and well shaped eye. She is of ideal size with enough substance, has a well arched neck, balanced hind and rear angulation, straight front with flexible pasterns, level topline and graceful sweep over croup. Moved true and showed her virtues to advantage.
2nd Bray’s Molson Modern Millie At Lianbray
Pretty g/s, again nicely balanced with good bone for her ideal size and well angulated at both ends. Pleasing shape with a good reach of neck, level topline and sweep over croup to a low set tail. Her head handles well with a flat skull, parallel planes and correct stop, she still needs to fill in foreface, but she has a nice dark eye and neatly tipped ears giving a sweet expression.
3rd Pearson’s Edglonian Apricot Lil

1st Robinson’s Lavika Sunset Rose JW
Beautifully marked clear silvery b/m with the sweetest of expressions. She has the perfect balance of skull to muzzle, just the right amount of stop, neatly tipped ears which she used all the time, almond shaped obliquely set blue eyes, nicely rounded muzzle and enough underjaw. She has a pleasing outline with a good reach of neck, level topline, lovely sweep over croup to low set tail and she is well angulated at both ends giving her easy ground covering movement.
2nd French’s Skeldale Wish Upon A Star Over Lindfern (imp Nld)
S/w of perfect size and a very pleasing outline with a good reach of neck, level topline and pretty sweep over croup, she moved with drive from well angulated hindquarters. She has a flat skull, neat ears well used and a dark almond shaped eye giving a sweet expression, she still needs to fill a little in foreface but this should come with maturity.
3rd Norris’ Sabema Mayfly At Ferngrove
YB (5,0)
1st Pearson’s Edglonian Golden Glow
Quality s/w who commands attention for her beautiful shape and excellent conformation. She stands foursquare and holds her head proudly on a muscular well arched neck. Her head is refined with a flat skull, just the right amount of stop, neat ears, dark eyes and a nicely rounded muzzle. She was a little short of coat on the day but what she had was of good texture and groomed to perfection. She covered the ground well with lithe and graceful action.
2nd Stafford’s Rannerdale Queen Of The Nite
Tricolour of lovely size and substance with a gleaming black jacket. Pleasing shape with enough neck, level topline and slope over croup, well angulated forequarters, good bend of stifle and well let down hocks enabling her to move with drive. Although perhaps a shade deeper in stop than the ideal she still has an appealing expression with neatly tipped ears, very dark well placed eyes, a nicely rounded muzzle and good underjaw.
3rd Hateley’s Mohnesee's Meliya JW
NB (5,0)
1st Mohnesee's Ninabelle
2nd Norris’ Sabema Mayfly At Ferngrove
Pretty s/w who had left all her clothes at home. Her head is balanced with parallel planes, though slightly deep in stop and she still needs to fill in foreface, very dark obliquely set eyes, and neatly tipped ears carried alertly. Ideal size with good bone and a pleasing outline, she has a good reach of neck, balanced angulation, level topline, gentle sweep over croup and well muscled hindquarters. Moved well from all angles.
3rd Bladon’s Kiemont What A Cracker
GB (7,4)
1st Hill’s Molson Mine Till Midnight
Pale g/s who immediately appeals for her shape and ring presence. Her head is balanced with correct stop, perfect ear set, eye shape and placement, very dark pigmentation, and nicely rounded muzzle. She has a white collar which shows off her well arched neck to advantage, well laid shoulders and length of upper arm, good depth of chest, level topline, graceful sweep over croup to low set tail, good bend of stifle and well let down hocks. Moved soundly with good reach in profile and minimal foot lift. Shown in gleaming coat and condition.
2nd Barrowcloughs’ Shadowess Ginger Biscuit
Another quality plain s/w of excellent breed type with a pleasing outline. Loved her head and expression with parallel planes, flat skull, slight stop, rounded muzzle, and neat ears which she used well, her eye shape and placement is correct but darker pigmentation would enhance. She has enough neck, level topline and gentle sweep over the croup. Moved soundly but preferred the profile action of 1st.
3rd Benstead’s Melcette Silver Star At Benravia
PGB (9 ,2)
Another lovely class.
1st Revill’s Mosardi Forget Me Not
B/m, nicely coloured and well broken, loved her overall balance. She has good bone for her ideal size, good reach of neck, level topline and sweep over croup, and has good angulation at both ends so moved smoothly and with drive. Her head proportions are correct with a flat skull, slight stop, nicely rounded foreface, well carried ears, her eye could perhaps be a little smaller, but it is still almond shaped and obliquely set, and she has a charming expression.
2nd Hateley’s Mohnesee Coconut Dream JW
Another shapely plain s/w of excellent breed type, lovely for size and substance. She pleased for her shape and excellent angulation with a muscular well arched neck, level topline and sweep over croup to low set tail. She has a pretty well balanced head with a flat skull, slight stop and nicely rounded foreface, neatly tipped ears and dark obliquely set almond shaped eye, would just prefer a firmer underjaw. Attentive showgirl and a sound mover.
3rd French’s Lavika Soul Of Gold For Lindfern
LB (11,1)
1st Mitchell’s Valdosta Goddess JW
Gorgeous lightly shaded s/w who demands attention for her outline and showmanship. Pretty g/s, very similar in type to 1st, she too pleased me for her construction and movement. She has a white collar which enhances her reach of neck, well laid shoulders and return of upper arm, level topline, and gentle sweep over the croup, good bend of stifle and well let down hocks. Pleasing head with parallel planes, flat skull, slight stop, nicely rounded foreface, good underjaw, neat ears and dark obliquely set eyes. Presented to perfection, I liked her a lot.

Delightful s/w who immediately takes the eye, she is of excellent breed type and so well balanced. She has a lovely outline with a muscular well arched neck of good length, level topline and graceful sweep over the croup to a long low set tail. She is well angulated at both ends, has a straight front with round bone and flexible pasterns, good bend of stifle and low set hocks enabling her to power round the ring with good reach in profile. Like my DCC winner, she has the most typical Sheltie head of perfect proportions, nicely moulded with correct stop, smooth cheeks and rounded muzzle, good underjaw, dark obliquely set almond shaped eyes and excellent ear carriage. Immaculately presented and shown to advantage.
2nd Hateley’s Ch Lizmark Lullaby Moon Over Mohnesee JW RCC
Well known b/m of ideal size, another with copybook conformation, well balanced and such a sound mover from all angles. Super shape with a well arched neck, level topline and sweep over croup to a long tail. She has a head with the perfect balance of skull to muzzle, flat skull, smooth cheeks and well filled foreface, dark almond shaped eyes and neatly tipped ears. Pretty tri in gleaming black coat with rich tan markings, unlucky to be unplaced in a very strong PG class.
