Bath Canine Society

Many thanks to the exhibitors for entering under me, my first time CC’s in German Shepherds. A breed always close to my heart, as this is the breed I grew up with. I did expect a mixture in type as I was an “unknown”. And my results showed a mixture. There is one breed standard, and they must be able to do their job of work. Soundness came first for me, and I think that showed in my final line ups.

1ST Chalksville Cool Running over Jandeburn ShCM ShCEx VW (Mrs D & Mrs J Fenn & Foster) - nine years young, like the shape overall, nice strong headpiece, good width between the ears, good eye and expression, nice length of neck, going into well set shoulders, nice width on front, good ribbing and loin, nice shape stifle, well-shaped feet, very sound on the move, holding a good top line as he went round the ring.

 2ND Ir/swiss/nl/lux/hr/bel/int Ch Clynalwin's Nukon (Mrs S & Miss F Kearnan & Wilson) - 8 year old, bigger dog but balanced, again another nice head with good eye, a touch narrow on front of the winner, nice rear angulation showing profile movement, just needs to settle a touch on the rear.

1ST Nikonis Qonos (Mr P & Mrs N Cassidy & Farley) - nine-month-old, nice overall shape, just needs to grow on a bit. Pleasing in head, lovely eye and expression, nice width on front, with nice angles, would like a touch more body coming through, nice shaped stifle, needs to settle on the move but nice strong hocks,

 2ND Evawell Ezra (Mrs L Busby) - Nine month old, bigger dog but balanced, strong head for a baby, nice width on front, pleasing body and line, nice shape of stifle, touch weaker in hock which showed on the move and would like a more parallel front movement.

1ST Chalksville Made of Magic for Brightmeadow (Mr J & Mrs M B Stephens) - 14 month old, an impressive young male, nice size and bone, pleasing in head, with good width of skull, good eye and ear set, lovely expression, nice width of front, lovely front angulation, would like a touch more ribbing to finish picture, but that could come with age, nice length rib to loin, nice turn of stifle, moved well. Considered for RCC.

 2ND Chalksville As If by Magic over Jandeburn (Mrs D & Mrs J Fenn & Foster) - 14 month old bigger male and not so together as 1, head proportions good for size, good ear set, nice eye & expression, good strong neck, body needs to catch up with size at the moment, nice rear, good profile movement, could be tidier on the up and down.

1ST Ardenburg Bix (Miss H A Brown) - 18 month old male, young male of good proportions, pleasing overall size and bone, lovely headpiece, good eye & expression, lovely ear set, good length of neck going into well angulated shoulders, nice width on front, OK for ribbing and loin, good top line, nice turn of stifle, move soundly and correct on the up and down, handled well, pleased to award the reserve CC to him.

1ST Marlish Jupiter (Mrs R Price) - 2 year old, nice size and bone, top line fell away, pasterns could be stronger and better feet, touch heavy in head, but nice stop with good eye & expression, touch narrow across skull, touch narrow on front which carried through his body, would like more spring of rib, ok for loin. Pleasing turn of stifle, touch close on hocks, pleasing on profile movement

2ND Windgunn's Chaos to Ashvens (Mrs D J Stevens) - 2 year old male, nice overall shape and balance, I would like a touch more stop to complete head, but has a well-shaped eye and good expression, touch wider in front than 1, but nice angles, nice length of ribbing and loin, good turn of stifle, moved well.

1ST Ch Desjiem Van De Herdersfarm (Imp Deu) (Mrs D Hensley) - 4 year old impressive male, correct size and balance, everything in proportion, good head, correct skull with good ear set, to be picky perhaps could have a touch more infill under eye, good solid neck, well angulated shoulders and upper arm, nice ribbing and loin, holding correct top line and tail set, well shaped stifle, use the ring to his advantage on the move. Please to awarding the Dog CC and best of breed, equally as pleased to see him go Group 4 in a strong Pastoral Group.

Challenged hard, but had to give way to the male.
