I’d like to thank The Greyhound Club for inviting me to judge. I had some beautiful dogs entered and the quality was excellent.
I was hoping to be able to judge outside on the spacious village green but ‘Storm Ashley’ had other ideas! The weather upon arrival was challenging to say the least, resulting in judging taking place inside the village hall. Despite the conditions, huge credit must go to the committee, helpers and exhibitors for battling the gale force winds and horizontal rain and putting together a super show.
Everyone will surely agree that the generous hospitality and all round friendliness made for a great atmosphere. A lovely touch was for everyone to sit down together for a hot lunch, provided by the Club.
Alongside our British contingent, several overseas exhibitors made the journey to the show and it was wonderful to see the breed coming together and supporting each other. Thank you all for graciously accepting my decisions.
Puppy Dog
1. Howlett, Boggia & Koulermou’s Ina’s Fashion Imperial (Imp) Deu
6 months old gold brindle and so very confident, I loved everything about him. Super head of good type, dark correct eyes, fine ears and really shapely. Great front, topline and smashing quarters, beautifully balanced throughout with long tail. Good carriage. Very well behaved and well schooled with composed steady movement. Super potential, handled to perfection. Best Puppy Dog.

Very shapely body, correct top and underline, well angulated quarters. Enviable condition and muscle tone. Still a teenager at 15 months old and needs to settle in movement but his career is only going one way. Super prospect with great potential.
2. Sawer’s Boughton Back On Top
Gold brindle of nice type with adequate balanced angulation to front and rear. Still needs to drop into his rear and settle in topline. Long tail and good feet. Presented and handled very well.

2. Salmistraro’s Sobers Cassius
8 yrs old, of the highest calibre. Wonderful head and eye, powerful body, great depth and spring, beautifully clean front, great forechest and strong quarters. 1. Koulermou & Knauber Ina’s Fashion Hypnotic
Captivating white with excellent eye shape and pigmentation. Littermate to above puppy class winner and will surely be joining her sister on the red carpet competing for top honours. My comments on her sister apply equally but she tipped the scales for best puppy with her free and easy true movement which was a joy to watch. Well handled. Best Puppy In Show.
2. Ball’s Boughton Back In Time
Elegant gold brindle, pleasing head and good ears. Long neck into fair shoulders, shapely topline and underline, moderate angulation fore and aft. Not as positive on the move as winner.

Quality red of a type I admire. Beautiful head and eye, good ears. Very well angulated front and quarters, deep chest. A little long in loin and more shapely under than over. Super quarters. Foot placement not in line when moving, tended to crab. Beautifully presented and well handled, excellent condition.
2. Ayling’s Blueberry Saga Paeonia (Imp Svn)
Finely constructed gold brindle, very pretty, elegant shape with moderate angulation fore and aft. Good depth to chest. Nice feet. Well handled.

1. Newsham’s Ch Europa Decuma Via Windspiel (Czech Imperial)
At 7 years old she headed this fabulous class with her superb overall condition and sound, steady movement which was footfall perfect. The conditions suited her well, she looked glorious and it was quite simply her day. Built on classical lines, she exuded power whilst still remaining graceful and presented a wonderful combination of type, balance and soundness. Correctly angulated front and rear, superb forechest with good width and depth, firm sound hocks and good feet. Totally fit, her movement never faulted or waned. Thoroughly deserved her win today. CC, Best Veteran, Best In Show.
2. Ahrens & Primavera’s It Esp Ch Dk Ch Uk Su Ch Int Ch Sobers Geraldine
A great favourite who can never disappoint, indeed I awarded her 2nd CC in 2022. Her excellent head properties and overall breed type appeal hugely. Beautifully balanced all through with strong neck into the best of fronts, deep chest and flowing outline. Lovely frame, shapely and curvaceous with sweeping quarters with plenty of second thigh. Without a doubt she is built to move and did not seem totally at ease coping with the indoor matting. Quality throughout. Reserve CC, Res Best In Show.

Substantially made glorious black, approaching 11 years old. Dear gentle matriarch who perhaps found it all a bit of an effort. It was lovely to see her, I hope she enjoyed her day out.
