Thank you to Richmond committee & officers for asking me to judge my lovely breed. Special thanks to the exhibitors that came and showed under me, in horrendous weather conditions, you were absolute troopers. I had some quality exhibits to go over. We need to remember however, that the breed standard asks for ‘length slightly greater than height’. Some of the exhibits shown, were more than slightly longer than taller. There were also some that were lacking in under-jaw and some had quite low ear set, which breeders need to watch when selecting potential additions, to further their breed lines. I was however, very pleased with my principal winners.VD - no entries. MPD (1.0)1. Knott’s; Zuni Someone U Loved Fallcat (imp Cze)7-month-old blue merle who is coming on well. Good male head with correct proportions and strong muzzle with well-defined stop. Body in proportion, lovely bone and well sprung in rib. Coat going through change, but colour is clear and rich. Moderate throughout, stands lovely in profile. Movement was good with correct length of stride and level top line. This little guy has a bright future ahead of him. BPD. PD (1.0)1. Land & Gittin’s; - Birkcross Trying for the Top Among Casmawllan.11-month-old black tri who is growing nicely. Moderate bone and body with correct proportions; Head in proportion to body, with correct muzzle to skull ratio and rich almond eyes. Moderate length of neck into well laid shoulders. Level topline and moved OK but would like to see him stride out more in better weather. JD - no entries YD – no entries PGD (2.1) 1. Jarram, Jarram & Whittingham’s; Chalksville Strike a Deal with Kashaella JW 2-year-old black tri who was shown in lovely condition. Strong in head, skull equal in length to width, but would prefer better ear carriage. Good reach of neck and deep chest. Strong in shoulder, with a level topline and good angulation front and rear, with nice turn of stifle. Ribs well sprung and correct compact feet. Moved out well with free and easy gait. LD (2.0) 1. Cowley’s; Sparkaway Ladies Man.Smaller built black tri but still within standard. He has a lovely outline, and correct proportions throughout. Longer than tall, but I would prefer a little more length of leg on him overall. Nice reach of neck and well laid shoulders. Level topline and good tum of stifle, with moderate tuck-up. I liked his movement once he settled, a shame he was spooked in the challenge.2. Myall’s; Altussi Rhythm & Blues.3year old blue merle, with a good head but I just preferred the ear set and eye shape of 1. Nice reach of neck with well laid shoulders -and a level topline. Correct height to length ratio, he has correct moderate bone and correct rear angulation. Stood level and true, and moved out well for his handler. OD (6.1) 1. Hellewell’s; Franmar the Thriller ShCEx 5-year-old blue merle, I loved this dog’s outline. Moderate throughout with nothing overdone. Clean cut head, and skull in proportion to muzzle, with correct stop. Nice reach of neck and deep chest. Good front angulation and coupled with the correct rear angulation, it gave him lovely movement, that was smooth, free and easy. Topline was firm and level which stayed on the move, ensuring he covered the ground well. Coat of correct colour and texture. Was so pleased to give him DCC and BOB.2. Knott’s; Shalako's Come Hell’r High Water (Imp USA) 4-year-old red tri dog that is moderate throughout. Built smaller than 1 but everything is there in moderation. Well-muscled throughout, coupled with correct angulation front and rear, this girl could move out well with no effort. I would just like a little more length of leg, to complete the picture. 2. Prihodova; Ariana Reale Di Narnieland (Imp Cze) 3-year-old red tri bitch of different type to 1. Lighter in bone but still very feminine. Longer than tall, and narrower in head, but planes still in proportion. Good ears set high on the head, level topline and strong in loin.
