Class 708 JH 6-11

1st: Leah Sharp – this young girl handing a GSD was a dream to watch. She was attentive to her dog, understood the breed specific stance for her GSD and moved at a good pace away and back then slightly faster when showing off the side gait to really emphasise the ground covering stride of her dog, certainly not an easy task when you’re a young girl with little legs and you have a strong and powerful dog on the end of your lead. All credit to this super star smart handler.

2nd: Arlo Topping. This young chap had a lovely young Puli to showcase and he pulled out all the stops to really show his dog off to its full potential. On the floor he had his Puli stood beautifully at all times, he moved at the correct speed again just slightly increasing to showcase the side gait. On the table Arlo did a fabulous job too, not easy with a high table to block your view.

3rd: Jacob Perfitt -Jones. A young chap with a strong powerful Alaskan Malamute. Sometimes it’s just about the handling and this chap showed that you don’t need a fancy outfit to know how to handle. He did a great job keeping control of his strong dog, paying attention to it and correcting stance when required. Well done.

Res: Paige Hooley – a super smart young handler who had to control her charge who often didn’t want to be a perfect show dog! Paige did such a great job; she listened to instructions and you can see she really cares about her dogs wellbeing in the ring – even when being a typical difficult dog. Well done Paige on being cool and professional.

Class 709 JH 12-16 – this was such a difficult class to judge as all were of a really high standard.

1st: Francesca Wilson, really attentive to her dog, listened to instructions, made the most of the ring too and all turns and corners were neat, complimented her white PMD dog with her outfit which was the icing on the cake.

2nd: Melissa Graham-Weall –another young lady who got the best from her dog at all times. Transition from table to floor was effortless, moved her Sheltie at just the right pace too. Both handler and dog were pristine.

3rd: Livia Boryc – Livia was a cool and collected handler who really tried to keep the attention of her Samoyed. They made a lovely pair.

Res: Georgie Moore – Another young lady who listened to instructions and ensured her Rough Collie was shown to an advantage at all times.

VHC: Chloe Cooper – After judging I was told it was Chloe’s first time in a handling class – she certainly didn’t look like a novice. She shows real promise and did a great job handling her Rott.
