Boston & District Canine Society

Breed: Pyrenean Mountain Dog

My thanks to Boston for allowing me the opportunity to judge PMD at their well organised and friendly show. The ring was a good size to showcase the breed. Much thanks to my wonderful steward Sally Pointon. All dogs had the required double dew claws, and all presented well and a credit to their owners.

Post Grad Dog 1st Kennedy Pyrcot Spirit of Hanai. A masculine lad who stood well and had good bone. His coat was profuse in the main, with a good texture and presented clean. He’s got a strong head, good pigment and bite. He covered the ground well and held his topline.

Limit Dog 1st Mcbain Lisjovia Flaming Drambuie for Willmac, a lovely lad with much to like. Masculine throughout with a good coat covering his fit body. Nice head, short strong neck into a good front. Moves well in all directions.

Open Dog 1st Pollard & Maggs Ch Gillandant Thief of Hearts at Dewyche ShCEx. What an eye-catching male on stance who doesn’t disappoint on the move either. He’s mature with strong bone and covered in a well-presented harsh quality coat. He has a strong head and muzzle, lovely eyes and ear set too. His chest is broad, broad muscular back too with good topline. On the move he was the complete package and moved well in all directions. Delighted to see him top a strong pastoral group. 2nd Baverstock Kalkasi Just Because JW. Another nice lad with much to offer. He had a lovely head with good pigment. Good front and lovely side moving profile, I just preferred the rear movement of 1. Nice topline curving into his tail set. His coat was harsh and presented well. Not the finish of 1 but his time will come.

Veteran Dog 1st Reilly Ch/swiss/ir/multi/int Ch Lisjovia Boris Bear at Darmaror JW ShCM ShCEx Cw19 RBD Upstanding veteran showing little sign of age. He is fit and in great condition. His ring presence is second to none and he couldn’t be denied RBD today. He’s got a masculine head, good front, deep chest with tight elbows. Lovely rear angulation which proves on the move. RBD & BV

Junior & Post Grad Bitch 1st Baverstock Kalkasi Super Special. Super feminine with a beautiful head and expression. So easy and free on the move with powerful fit rear. A promising girl who I’m sure will be one to watch when fully mature.

Limit Bitch 1st Bhattacharya Jumicar Uptown Girl – covered in a profuse coat she was fit and well-muscled. Good head with dark pigment. Would have just preferred a more angulated rear, however she covered the ground and was handled to get the best from her.

Open Bitch 1st Ch Gillandant Simply The Best (Mrs G P Pollard) BB. I didn’t realise this lady was litter sister to BOB and with similar qualities too. Super feminine with a lovely balanced head, strong muzzle, good pigment and nice expression. Good neck, deep chest and good front. Loved her side profile on the move and she covered the ground easily. For BOB I preferred the rear of the dog and his overall finish. 2nd Patablanca Phoenix (Mr P Asher) RBB another lovely feminine girl who really shows herself off on the move with her easy free gait. Balanced with good angulation. Nice head with dark pigment to complete the picture. Stood well. Good texture to coat.

Special Beginners Bitch 1st Bhattacharya Jumicar Uptown Girl – as limit. BSB
