My thanks to Boston for allowing me the opportunity to award CCs in GSDs at their well organised and friendly show. I had a huge ring to showcase the required Shepherd movement. Special thanks to my wonderful steward Sally Pointon who did a sterling job at keeping the ring moving efficiently. The quality in males was remarkable, my dog line up left me spoilt for choice and I had difficult decisions to decide between them. The bitch entry was numerically less, that said I was delighted with my choices, and they deserve to be champions showing femininity, balance and free from exaggeration. And it is worth noting the sportsmanship in this breed was at its best on the day.
Minor Puppy Dog 1st Vorrias’ Windgunn's Viper - I loved him. He was just 6mths and I believe his first show, not that he gave that away with his performance in the ring. He was super to go over, already developing in masculinity in head and body, and teamed with his steady ‘look at me’ temperament he completed the picture. He’s certainly going to be one to watch and if he continues to mature as he suggests he’ll to be hard to beat. He was the first dog in the ring, and I completely relaxed after judging him knowing that if there wasn’t another dog present then his young chap could have easily been awarded the CC - he’s that good! I was delighted to see him shortlisted in the strong puppy group.
JD & Yearling Dog 1st Stephens Chalksville Made of Magic for Brightmeadow -you don’t expect juniors to pull out all the stops, yet this junior winner did just that! He’s a youngster who just knows what showing is about and really knows how to make the most of the ring with his easy long reaching driving movement. He’s masculine, with a good head and lovely front, he’s fit, well-muscled and presented to perfection, he just lost out on the CC to a slightly more finished male however I have no doubt this chap will continue his winning career, RDCC. 2nd Fenn & Foster Chalksville As If by Magic over Jandeburn, had to stand second to his brother. He’s masculine with good bone and muscle tone, super topline and lovely side profile movement. Many qualities of 1st but I just preferred the head of the winner.
Post Grad Dog 1st Stevens Windgunn's Chaos to Ashvens - his outline for me was just superb. He effortlessly motored around the ring with his handler/owner and was just so eye catching. His bone, muscle, body condition and coat were spot on. His front and rear angles complemented each other, his topline never faulted and he looked a picture stood and on the move. His unassuming handler shows him off wonderfully and in the challenge with a different handler he put on the same great performance and moved and stood perfectly. Delighted to have awarded him his first CC - I look forward to hearing him become a champion - because that day will certainly come! He put on a great performance in the group ring, and I had so many compliments about him from those watching ringside - he certainly caught others attention. DCC & BOB
Limit Dog 1st Vorrias Windgunn's Firestarter – another contender for the RCC from this clever breeder. He was in tip top condition showing off his great attributes as he moved effortlessly around the ring. He’s got a great front and well angulated rear which really makes his side gait so eye catching in a big ring. He’s got a masculine head, strong neck leading into well placed shoulders. I’m surprised he’s not yet a champion, however his time will come. 2nd Reilly Endearing Warrior at Darmaror JW – another male in great condition. Although he didn’t have quite the bone as the winner, he is masculine and fit. Powerful neck and good shoulder placement, moved easily around the ring and put on a good performance.
Open Dog, I was spoilt in this class of mature males. 1st Stevens Windgunn's Blaze to Ashvens, this boy doesn’t need flashy handling for him to be noticed. A dog who is masculine throughout and was in such great condition. He’s got strong bone and is so well made. He’s got good head proportions, strong neck, good shoulders and well angulated front and rear. He’s positive on the move in all directions and couldn’t be denied the class. 2nd Hensleys Ch Desjiem Van De Herdersfarm (Imp Deu)– this chap caught my eye instantly; he has such ring presence and is handled to get the best from him. He moves around the ring effortlessly as he’s fit and got great muscle tone and teamed with a quality eye catching coat he’s not to be overlooked – I just preferred the rear of my winner today.
Veteran Dog 1st Prydderch Ch Droyale Mister Moo – this dog shows no sign of age other than a few grey whiskers! He’s a showman. A quality lad who stands lovely and doesn’t disappoint on the move. He’s got a masculine head and good bone and strength throughout. BV and he later went on the win the Pastoral Veteran Group in great company – well done. 2nd Fenn & Foster’s Chalksville Cool Running over Jandeburn ShCM ShCEx VW another quality male. Good front and rear. Strong topline and croup. Quality coat. Easy on the move just not the drive as 1st.
Special Beginner Dog 1st Chapman Konatian Baggy Trousers – what a fabulous coat this lad carries. Another you can’t deny is all male. He’s got a lovely easy-going temperament and is at one with his handler. He moves well around the ring, just would prefer a touch more drive from the rear.

Minor Puppy Bitch 1st Folksman Windgunn's Phoenix, what an eye-catching girl. She’s many attributes of her litter brother but with the required femininity. She’s immature, but rightly so at just 6 mths of age. She enjoyed her time in the ring and her handler did a great job getting the best from her. She’s going to be quite special as she has the required proportions, angulation and her movement is clean once she is settled – she just needs time – which she has plenty of! I’m sure I’ll see this girl picking up top awards as she matures.
Post Grad Bitch 1st Cave Ballynabola Ria at Casiann – a lovely quality coat on this girl. Such a feminine head with good pigment and eye colour. Strong jaw and good bite. Nice head, good neck, just a tad upright in shoulder. Nice topline, good rear with strong hocks. Moved well.
Limit Bitch 1st Vorrias Windgunn's Rizzini on entering the ring she was my CC winner. She is feminine and classy. Her head is a delight, strong neck leading into well placed shoulders to upper arm. She’s got a super front and well angulated rear too. Unfortunately, in the class she wasn’t settled on the move, although you could see she’s got the correct movement it was erratic with her handler. In the challenge she stood better but again her movement wasn’t as clean due to her attitude on the day so stood to RBCC. I’m sure she will get her crown as she is super. 2nd Cave Casiann Ate ShCEx unfortunate to meet 1st as this bitch is lovely, strong bone and well-muscled and covered in a fabulous coat. Unfortunately, like 1st this girl wasn’t settled in the class either.
Open Bitch three different girls with such quality in their own way. 1st Forman’s Kintaro Grace Kelly with Suzdans - she just had to win this class on her soundness, effortless movement and overall condition. She is so in tune with her handler, and they just worked their magic in the ring to pull out all the stops that I couldn’t deny her the class win and then BCC. She is in super condition and fit. With her bone and muscle tone she cleared the ground easily. She is feminine throughout with good pigment, bite and head piece. The ringside applause was explosive when I awarded her the CC and was heard throughout the marquee – the affection for this bitch, her owners and taking her crown was quite remarkable yet worthy. 2nd Masters & Power’s Ch Droyale Sunflower Girl at first glance I thought she would be my winner however was out moved by a fitter girl today who just pipped her to first place. She’s solid with strong bone and covered in a fabulous double coat. She has a great depth to her chest, good front and a lovely topline. A very worthy champion with much to offer.
