Thank you to the committee and officers of Belfast for the invitation and honour of judging at Belfast for the first time. Such lovely hospitality and such a well organised show with a fabulous venue. I had a quality entry for my first time awarding challenge certificates in Shetland Sheepdogs thank you to every exhibitor for the honour of going over and judging your dogs I had a fabulous day.

Puppy Dog

1st Hateley Mohnesee’s The Dream Master a shapely youngster ideal size head promising with a flat skull level planes correct stop dark eye sweet yet masculine expression strong underjaw well used high set ears moderate length of neck well laid shoulder strong topline correct length of loin neat well bent stifles short hocks sound on the move with excellent reach and drive

Junior Dog

1st Jeavon Grandgenes Hey Good Lookin typical profile stands four square masculine well balanced head small high set ears stop well defined rounded muzzle beautiful arched neck he is soundly constructed with a well-developed body sufficient length of neck deep chest correct rounded bone, neat oval feet and strong flexible pasterns level back graceful sweep over the loins muscular hindquarters steady sound on the move beautifully presented coat harsh

2nd McArdle Talltales Obsidian Night at Slievemac (IKC) tri colour a little unbalanced in outline presently head need time to develop neat well-set ears obliquely set eyes he was rather unsettled but moved adequately I would like to see more drive from behind beautifully presented jet-black coat

3rd Ferguson Dinmore Wild Blue Yonder of Fervaila

1st & DCC Simpson & Main Shenachie Secretariat balanced and unexaggerated profile with the correct ratio of height to length masculine wedge-shaped head flat skull defined stop sweet gentle expression neat ears shoulder well laid level topline correct croup, tail set and carriage hindquarters well-muscled adequate bend of stifle firm low set hocks he excelled on the move covering the ground effortlessly well-presented coat of correct texture

2nd Savage Shellamoyed Midnight Max at Savataurus tri colour initially a little apprehensive ideal size with enough substance and strong rounded bone defined stop typical expression good depth of chest ribcage well sprung lost his topline on the move

1st Melvin & Jopson Katiedale The Piper at Nithview sable of excellent type he is refined and elegant with correct bone and substance masculine balanced head small neat well set and carried ears flat skull well filled foreface dark eye correct stop nicely arched neck deep chest level topline correct tail set and carriage well angulated hindquarters firm low set hocks moved out freely covering the ground effortlessly in excellent coat and presented in hard muscular condition

2nd Robertson Afterglow Goldberg at Vidlinvoe JW different type to first I admired his overall balance and quality parallel head planes good strength to underjaw almond shaped eyes typical sweet expression correct dentition deep chest good bone firm topline tail well set and carried but could be longer moved soundly coat correct texture and beautifully presented

1st & RDCC Robinson Lavika Moonlight Storm JW super outline beautifully balanced and proportioned head flat skull bunt wedge defined stop good strength of underjaw dark obliquely set almond shaped eyes give a sweet gentle expression good length and arch to neck deep chest well ribbed firm topline excellent tail set, length and carriage muscular hindquarters correct stifle and firm low set hocks confident, graceful and sound on the move

2nd Doyle Sevenoaks So Perfect Duke Des Romarins De Mayerling well balanced tri attractive outline and soundly constructed with harmonious angulation of fore and hindquarters lovely arch to neck deep chest ribcage well sprung masculine head small high set ears which he used periodically blunt wedge defined stop dark obliquely set eyes moved soundly but a bit unsettled well presented

2nd Savage Willowthorn Kobalt Star by Savataurus JW VW Jch Vch 8yr old blue merle fit and well-muscled a sound stylish mover he is soundly constructed with a correct lay of shoulder and return of upper arm correct length and arch to neck deep chest super coat texture and presentation

Special Beginners Dog

1st Ferguson Dinmore Wild Blue Yonder of Fervaila blue merle up to size with a stronger head than ideal almond shaped eyes ears well set and carried chest needs more width and depth firm topline muscular hindquarters moved adequately

Puppy Bitch

This was a super class the first three difficult to separate 1st BP Robinson Dippersmoor Dazzling Star quality and type in abundance which I was delighted to see was recognised by the group judge later in the day her outline is super correctly proportioned height to length rounded bone oval feet excellent feminine head flat skull parallel head planes ears small and high set body developing as you would expect good length of ribcage low set hocks

2nd Hateley Mohnesee's Ninabelle a little less mature in body development than the first but otherwise equalling appealing soundly constructed with a well laid shoulder beautiful arch to neck topline firm stifle well-turned neat firm low-set hocks tail correct length, set and carriage on the move she covered the ground with ease

Junior Bitch

1st Melvin & Jopson Prince of Sunlight Zendaya Nithview (Imp Hun) tri colour balanced in profile feminine head well-proportioned muzzle to skull ratio flat skull blunt wedge defined stop beautiful eye shape and placement give the sweetest expression correct dentition and good underjaw deep chest of correct width ribcage well sprung and carried well back correct bone and feet slight slope to pasterns on the move she is sound with good forward reach and drive from her muscular hindquarters

2nd Farrell Moifara My Fair Lady typical profile feminine head blunt wedge almond shaped eyes sweet expression lovely arch to neck well laid shoulder firm topline good tail set and carriage correct bone and feet slight slope to pasterns confident and sound on the move excellent coat texture and presentation

2nd Hepburn Leterikhills Taras Star unplaced in the quality puppy class she was more settled in this class and moved soundly wedge-shaped head ears small and correctly placed flat skull rounded muzzle well arched neck shoulder well laid level back correct graceful sweep over the loins

1st BCC & BOB Jeavons Wylwind Designed for Grandgables (Imp Saf) JW refined bitch of excellent type and quality soundly constructed classic head with small ears well placed on top of her skull dark almond shaped eye muscular neck her harmonious angulation of shoulder and hindquarters presents a balanced profile strong level topline sloping croup well-set tail harsh textured double coat which was beautifully presented positive, stylish and sound on the move

2nd Ferguson Sandwick Valentina at Fervaila nice size ears rather widely set lacking in bone moved soundly but lacking any real drive from the hindquarters

1st Keeling Kishdigra Heavenly Goddess Ir Jch well excellent ear placement and carriage moulded foreface sweet feminine expression arched neck good depth of chest excellent profile on the move she is animated and sound with excellent reach and drive superb excellent coat texture and presentation

Smashing class of quality veterans all in super coat and condition 1st & BV Main Shenachie Lyric of Light a bitch I have previously judged and awarded highly I have not altered my opinion typical throughout and of excellent type she is unexaggerated beautifully balanced and soundly constructed attentive and responsive to her handler a credit to her breeder/owner her head is feminine with a super sweet and gentle expression her ears are small and set on top of her skull super profile on the move

2nd Jackson Rowancrest Moonlight Dream tri colour typical in profile with correct bone, feet and substance wedge shaped head flat skull rounded muzzle soundly constructed body her shoulder is well laid hindquarters muscular hocks well let down well presented harsh textured double coat sound on the move covering the ground with ease

3rd Main Shenachie Flakey Dove
