South Western Tibetan Spaniel Club

I would like to thank the committee for giving me the great honour of judging at this very special breed club show. Firstly because I was encouraged during my journey to judge the breed as well as showing my own Tibetan Spaniel. I appreciated the time and effort I was given by breed experts, who mentored me on the breed. This show is also close to my heart as my dear friend Meg Purnell-Carpenter was scheduled to judge this show before she was taken away, too soon. I was proud to be her replacement. Thank you to the stewards and committee, headed by secretary Heather Simper, for the wonderful show with a great friendly atmosphere. I enjoyed every minute. Thank you to the exhibitors for the fabulous entry, I was privileged to judge some beautiful Tibbies. They were a joy and many future superstars will emerge, I’m sure.

1 Ch Souska Empty Room at Starlance JW ShCM VW - BVIS

10 year old male of excellent type and balance, classic head, with well-placed ears, dark eye, strong in chin and well cushioned muzzle. Super neck and shoulder, forechest evident with tight elbows, good spring of rib, and firm in loin, level topline which he held on the move, well carried plumed tail, firm hocks, moved to perfection all ways with excellent reach and drive. In excellent coat and condition, a credit to his owner.  

2 Ch Knattings Riverdance to Kensing JW (Imp SWE) 

7 year old male in excellent coat and condition, masculine head with all the essentials, correct proportions and cushioning. Strong in underjaw and well placed ears with fringing. Super neck and shoulder, level topline with good set on of tail, well sprung ribs, good rear and firm hocks, moved soundly, holding his shape on the move.

8 month baby with attractive sable coat and in super condition. Masculine head, well placed ears, balanced muzzle and strong chin, dark oval eye giving super expression. Good shoulder and front, tight elbows, liked his body proportions with good topline and well carried tail. Balanced angles fore and aft, moved holding his shape, with good extension. A stylish young man with super character. I’m sure he will have a bright future.

2 Back In Black with Devontibs

Gorgeous black baby of 6 months, with a super head and expression, and super coat. Dark eye, balanced muzzle and chin. Developing front, and level topline, good rear and tail set. He moved well for his age and put in a good performance. Very much the baby in this class but a very promising pup.

10 month male of excellent type, strong head, dark oval eye giving super expression. Developing nicely in front, good shoulder and topline, well carried tail, and good rear angulation. Moved well with balance and extension, excellent coat, condition and body. A very promising baby with a lot of potential.

2 Mulltye Rol Mo

8 month old, very much the baby. Smaller in type, good head which is still developing, dark eye and well placed ears. Well-shaped blunt muzzle with cushioning. Moderate neck, juvenile front, good topline and tailset. On the move gave a good account of himself with good extension, he needs more ring confidence to finish the picture, in super coat.

1 Marlyoak Heart Full Of Love

15 month old super young male who was not in full coat. Excellent type and balance. Masculine head, well placed ears when he used them, blunt muzzle with good cushioning and good chin. Good neck and shoulder, good forechest and front with tight elbows and correct hare feet. Sturdy ribcage and strong loin, level topline and well carried tail. This boy moved so well holding his shape, just needed more training on his static balance.

18 month old male of good type and balance. Super head with slight dome to skull, blunt muzzle with good chin and cushioning, well placed ears, dark oval eye. Shoulder a little forward placed, and a little loose in front on the move. Level topline well carried plumed tail, well sprung rib. Moved well in profile holding his shape.

Handsome 4 year old of excellent type and proportions, super head and excellent pigmentation, dark oval eye, well carried ears giving alert expression. Blunt muzzle with good cushioning, super neck and shoulder, well ribbed back and firm in loin. Good rear angulation, firm hocks and well carried plumed tail. Correct hare feet, in excellent coat and condition. He is excellent on the move with good footfall, reach and drive in profile and holding his shape. 

2 Saxtead Norbu 

Typey gold male of excellent type, loved his masculine head with well-placed ears, good cushioning to muzzle and good chin. Slightly forward placed in shoulder, with too much slope to pastern. Good topline and well ribbed back. Well carried tail, good rear angulation, moved well in profile, holding a good outline, just needs a little more finish.

5 year old male of excellent type and balance, his stunning outline and sable coat were very eye catching. Handsome head, slightly domed skull, well placed ears, dark oval eye, well cushioned blunt muzzle, giving noble expression. Strong neck and shoulder with good forechest and slightly bowed front. Good hare feet. Well ribbed back, level topline and well plumed tail, super bone and substance without coarseness. He was fabulous on the move with excellent reach and drive. RCC in good company.

2 Betranna Athos

2 year old gold sable, of good type and balance. Super head, correct domed skull, moderate stop and well carried ears. Dark oval eye, blunt muzzle with good cushioning and chin. Decent front and shoulder, hare feet. Good ribcage, tight elbows, level topline, well carried tail. He moved well with correct footfall and held his shape on the move.

2 year old sable male of excellent type and balance. Loved his size and outline, he has such ring presence, and wow factor .Handsome head, slightly domed skull, well placed ears framed with fringing, dark oval eye. Blunt well cushioned muzzle with good chin and width to underjaw, and excellent pigmentation. He has a Super intense expression. Good shoulder and slightly bowed front, feet standing straight, forechest evident. Excellent topline glamorous shawl, high set well plumbed tail. Well ribbed back and short in loin, balanced moderate rear angulation with firm hocks . On the move he came into his own, a very stylish active mover. Foot fall was perfect, he covered ground with extension and purpose. A very eye-catching dog in super coat and condition. Loved his type, size, character and charismatic style making him my DCC and BIS winner, he ticked all my boxes.

Super gold of excellent type and balance. Masculine head, well placed ears, slightly domed skull and dark oval eyes. Moderate stop, blunt muzzle with good cushioning and good width to chin. Super pigmentation, giving super expression. Excellent shoulder and front, forechest evident, correct hare feet. Well ribbed, firm in loin, level topline and good plume to tail. In super coat and condition. He is great on the move holding a great shape and outline, accurate with great reach and drive, he is a beautiful male, Another worthy Champion.

7 years parti, she is so beautiful, loved her excellent type and balance. Classic head, well placed ears, dark oval eyes, well pigmented rims and details. Blunt muzzle with cushioning and good strong chin. Super neck and shoulder, slight bow to front, correct hare feet, good ribcage, level topline and well carried plumed tail. Balanced hindquarters, with strong rear pasterns, in great body and coat. Moved with excellent deportment and style, great extension and foot fall.

2 Ch Souska Devotion VW 

10 year old, a fabulous golden oldie and another great mover defying her age. Strong but feminine head which matched her body type. Correct in skull, well placed ears, dark oval eyes, good cushioning to her frosted muzzle. She has a super front and ribcage, good topline and tailset. She was in super coat and condition. Super carriage on the move holding her shape and outline. She’s simply beautiful and a credit to her owner.

8 months and gorgeously naughty! A pretty youngster with beautiful head and expression from dark oval eyes, well placed ears, good chin and topskull, all developing nicely. She’s well-constructed with good tailset and balanced angles fore and aft. Super sable coat. Her movement is very correct for her age. She’s a lovely package, and just needs a little more schooling. She was delightful.

Good lay of shoulder, juvenile front, good topline and tailset. Balanced hindquarters with firm hocks. In super coat and condition. She moved so well holding a super shape, with reach and drive. Very promising baby.

11 months old beautiful baby, all she needs is maturity. Feminine head with sweet expression. Correct slightly domed top skull, well placed ears, dark oval eyes with good pigmentation. Blunt muzzle with good chin and cushioning. Good shoulder and front level topline well carried tail, correct hindquarters which balanced forehand and well carried tail. She moved well for a baby holding her shape. Very promising puppy.

18 month old gold of excellent type and balance, beautifully constructed throughout. Strong but feminine head, slight dome to topskull, well placed ears and dark oval eyes. Good chin on and well cushioned blunt muzzle. Super front and shoulder, and correct hare feet. Well ribbed back, good firm loin, level topline with excellent well plumed tail. Moderately angled hindquarters balancing forehand with firm well defined hocks. She is fabulous on the move with good footfall, reach and drive, holding her outline. She has a lot of potential. In good coat and condition.

14 month old gold of super type and balance. Feminine head, good topskull and well-placed ears, dark oval eyes, blunt muzzle and decent chin. Sweet expression. Well-constructed throughout, good shoulder and front with correct hare feet. Good ribcage, level topline with correct plumed tail. Excellent rear with well let down hocks. She moved with accuracy, reach and drive. In super condition.

2 Crockerne Moon Beam at Tibama 

14 month old sable, who is so pretty, with feminine head, well placed ears and dark oval eyes. Good pigmentation, well cushioned, blunt muzzle and good chin. She has a very pleasing expression, good shoulder and front hare feet, topline slightly rising as she is going through a growth phase. Shapely hindquarters. She is a very attractive package, moved well and just needs to settle. She is very promising.

1 Tamrae Parti With The Stars JW – BCC, BOS & RBIS

This young parti lady gave me goose bumps, and she certainly has the wow factor! Her head is copy book with all the essentials, pigmentation is perfect when looking at her dark eyes and black nose. She has a slightly domed top skull, moderate stop and well-placed ears. She has a blunt well cushioned muzzle, good width to under jaw and good chin. She is beautifully constructed throughout. Excellent shoulder, slightly bowed front and correct hare feet. Well ribbed back, firm loin, balanced hindquarters with good definition of hock, which were firm and true. Level topline with well set on plumed tail which never stopped wagging. She has character, poise and is excellent on the move with typical deportment and carriage. In excellent coat and condition. Super extension in profile and her foot fall is perfect. She stole my heart! I was delighted to give her BCC. I’m sure her Champion crown isn’t too far away. 

2 Susu Parti Like A Rockstar 

Another beautiful, very feminine parti who was super smart with beautiful head, expression and pigmentation. Good in topskull, well placed ears, dark oval eyes, good chin and cushioning. Super front with slight bow to forelegs, correct hare feet, good ribcage with level topline and well plumed correctly set on tail. Excellent hindquarters, well defined and firm hocks. In good body and condition. She’s another beauty, holding great outline and energetic on the go around and with good reach and drive.

2 year old gold with super type and balance. Feminine head, well placed ears, dark oval eyes, good cushioning to blunt muzzle and good chin. Super pigmentation giving sweet expression. Well-constructed throughout which reflected in her super movement. Good shoulder and front, and correct hare feet. Good top and underline, well ribbed back and firm loin. Excellent hindquarters with firm hocks. Well set plumed wagging tail. She has energy propelling her excellent footfall and extension. On the move she has super head carriage producing a classic outline.

Another typey gold so similar to 1. Beautiful head, well set on ears, dark oval eyes with good pigmentation. Blunt well cushioned muzzle, correct in under jaw and chin. Well-constructed throughout, with good set on of neck. Good shoulder and front. She has a super topline, well carried tail, firm hocks and good ribcage. In super coat and condition. Moved with correct deportment and extension.

Another superstar 4 year old female. She is so pretty and feminine. Correct in skull and ear set, good width to her blunt cushioned muzzle, chin evident. Dark oval eyes with super pigmentation. Good shoulder and front, hare feet, well ribbed back, short loin. Well carried plumed tail. Level topline held on the move. Good body and condition. She has superb movement, accurate down and back. Her carriage is perfect, with super extension and energy. She is the consummate show girl! I loved her style and type, which is very consistent with this kennel. Pleased to award her res cc in great company.

Judged this beautiful girl as a junior, and loved her then. She has all the essentials, super type and sound movement. Classic head, strong but feminine and in keeping with body type. Correct in skull, well placed ears, dark oval eyes, with super pigmentation. Good cushioning and defined chin. She has super structure, strong and firm in body. Good neck, prosternum evident, slightly bowed front, correct hare feet. She is well ribbed back, firm loin, good topline and croup, well carried tail with great plume. Her movement is classic, reach and drive, holding a perfect shape in outline, she has so much presence and super type.
