United Retriever Club

Breed: Retriever (Golden)

The Committee of the United Retriever Club should be commended for organising such a well-run show and I would like to thank the club for inviting me to judge.

The dog entry was pleasing both numerically and quality wise, with some top-quality exhibits competing.

It was a privilege to judge many quality dogs with the puppy, junior and yearling classes today providing some super young boys for the future of our breed , and the upper classes that had several cracking dogs knocking on the door for top honours.

There were some that were unfortunately a little overweight and lacking good movement, and some with low tail sets, sadly they had to give way when making my class decisions.

My final line up was personally pleasing, with those heading their classes having to work hard to be there, not only did they have to have a balanced shape, driving movement, and be in tip top condition, but they had overcome those who were placed a close second in many classes.

My congratulations to the Bitch CC winner and taking her title on the day, this was personally pleasing as I awarded her, her first CC.
