Many thanks to the committee for their kind invitation to judge at their show. It was good to see and catch up with people that don’t always get to the southern shows due to commitments and distance.I had two excellent hand helpful stewards, sadly I did feel the ring for our hounds was on the small which did inhibit the movement of some of the larger dogs.

JUNIOR DOG

 1 Miss S Finnett & Dr N Heathcote ANTONIUS VERTRAGUS THE-RIFT-VALLEY

Very Enthusiastic 16-month-old, happy on the move. Strong neck of good length, Shoulder placement and upper arm correct and of good length. Rib cage has depth, strong muscular hind quaters in keeping with a running hound. Considered for Res CC

NOVICE DOG

1 Dr S Sharp HUMBIEHOUNDS PIRNMILL AT CORONACH

18 mths old, Nicley balanced head. Good neck. Pleasing front and hind quarters. Balance fore and aft, better coat than 2. moved well.

2 Mrs A Ness AILEYMILL AT LEAPMOOR 3-year-old and at his first show. Not quite as well put together as 1, happy on the move.

GRADUATE DOG

1 Dr S Sharp CHUILINN FAOLAN AT CORONACH 19 months old. Good harsh coat. Head a little on the strong side for me, pleasing eye. Liked his confirmation, has balance fore and aft, moved well.

LIMIT DOG

1 Anderson White & Anderson HUMBIEHOUNDS VELVET TATTIE 19 months old well placed when standing, giving a good outline, nice leg length to body ratio. Good muscling especially in the second thigh.

OPEN DOG 3-1

1 Mr B Frita & K Kruger FRITZENS THE MUTHAIGA CLUB He caught my eye as he came into the ring. Excellent head and expression, Strong well-made neck into well place shoulders and upper arm, both have good length. A rib cage of excellent depth. Well place muscular loin. Excellent well place strong hind quarters with length to the long bones. Excellent harsh coat. Balanced all through. Moved with purpose in a small ring. Please to award CC and BOB

2 Mr R Gillie DORRATOR ORBIT Another well-made hound of six, Good harsh coat, not the quite the confirmation and balance of one. Covers the ground on the stand and on the move but did not have the purpose of 1. Res CC.

PUPPY BITCH 3-1 Two promising 9 months olds, both had lots to like about.

1 Mrs Z Harvey 1 KILBOURNE AOIFE pleasing head and expression. A little high on the leg at present and pasterns a bit upright and feet tight, however she is at an awkward age Best Puppy

2 Mrs A Chalmers & Mr D Harlaxton 2 CHUILINN TOURMALINE Very pretty bitch, a bit shy today, sadly not giving quite her best performance.

1 Miss S Finnett and Dr N Heathcotes ANTONIUS VERTRAGUS THE-MARA-RIVER Liotter sister to my Junior Dog. Pretty and very happy well-made girl. Excellent head and expression. Had trouble finding her small lovely rose ears. Strong neck, good shoulder placement. Good depth to brisket. Well, placed strong with plenty of muscle to her hind quarters. Harsh coat. Held her topline on the move. Considered for top honour. Res CC

NOVICE BITCH

1 Mr & Mrs T Clabby HUMBIEHOUNDS JAZZ IT UP Liked her profile standing and on the move. Strong loin well-muscled. Neat feet

GRADUATE BITCH 3-3

1 Mr & Mrs R Swanson 1 ZELDINI OREN OF ALTIMARLACH Nicely balanced head with a dark eye. Strong neck into good shoulders, good body length. Strong hindquarters.

2 Dr D & Mrs B Robertson CHUILINN FLAMENCO Slightly smaller bitch balance fore and aft. Very small rose ears. Her eye was darker than 1.

POSTGRADUATE BITCH

1 Ms V Lindsay & Mrs M Dunira LEOCH ORANSAY AT SILVERTHYME Pleasing bitch of two. She has come on a lot since I saw her ringside last year. Grown her harsh coat. Good confirmation and balance. Light mover. Excellent muscle all through, moved well.

LIMIT BITCH Nice class to judge.

1 Dr D & Mrs B Robertson CHUILINN ESHANA Beautiful dark bitch again caught my eye as she entered the ring. Good neck length into good shoulders. Upper arm of good length but could have slightly better return. Deep brisket, strong loin. Harsh coat. Moved out well CC.

 2 Mr & Mrs I Swanson ALTIMARLACH ARCHANGEL Balanced head but a little strong for my taste. Pleasing outline, in great coat and plenty of muscle, told she gets plenty of exercise.
