Smooth Coat Chihuahua

Judge: Miss L Tarabad (Khatibi)

I hadn’t judged s/c since just after the covid lockdown 3 years ago when I was rather disappointed by shy temperaments and bad mouths throughout the entry. I have to say that was not the case here with most having good mouths and only a few youngsters needing a little more confidence. I was delighted with the entry and had plenty of exhibits of both sexes that would have been worthy cc winners, I was particularly spoilt for choice in the bitch entry.

Class 1843 MPD (7,2)

1st: 3412 ALEXANDER, Mrs N Alderxena Ruler Of A Kingdom. 7 month old who was the best for type and outline here. Great attitude and the most gorgeous cheeky face with super eyes and flaring ears. Neat little shape with good topline, good ribbing for age and strong loin. Moved so smartly holding his outline firm which won him the class. BPD.

2nd: 3411 ALEXANDER, Mrs N Alderxena Pocket Rocket. A little smaller than 1 with a lovely shape and balance, just not as quite as firm in topline as 1 at present. Lovely chest, ribbing and substance for size and age. Another with a really sweet face, good dome and well set and used ears. Wasn’t as settled as 1 in this class but otherwise was little to separate them.

3rd: 3445 RUSSELL, Ms L J Chirouxe Come Together

Class 1844 PD (3)

1st: 3411 ALEXANDER, Mrs N Alderxena Pocket Rocket. See 2nd mpd. Much more settled here without his brother in the class!

2nd: 3432 HUNTLEY, Mrs E Jahneemahs Fancyman. Gorgeous baby who I thought would have been my winner but unfortunately just wasn’t willing to cooperate! Really appealing head qualities with good dome, large round eyes, short muzzle and large flaring ears. Typical balance of outline and sound construction throughout, a really lovely puppy who just needs to get his mind on the job!

3rd: 3405 PRADELA, Miss Monika Legado De Lagos Azul Okeanid

Class 1845 JD (3)

1st: 3444 ROONEY, Mr S J Yorone Make My Day. Just out of puppy and already a contender for top honours. Super smart little dog with a great attitude. Really impressive outline with lovely neck and shoulders, firm topline and correctly set and carried tail, well angulated and well muscled rear. Delightful head and saucy expression with lovely eyes, short pointed muzzle and definite stop. Moved with good reach and drive holding his topline firm. Still only a youngster and just a little more maturing to do but I’m sure we’ll be hearing a lot more from him in the coming year.

2nd: 3438 KELLY, Ms Francine Frapachi Tom Truberts Blues. Very sweet, smaller dog who needs to carry a bit more body. Good front and rear angulation, deep brisket and straight front. Cheeky face with large round eyes, good dome, short muzzle and well placed ears. Nice brisk movement.

3rd: 3436 JONES, Mrs Lynn Pepeetolynn Rich Tea

Class 1846 PGD (5)

1st: 3429 HUMPHREYS, Mrs L Amarantos Theo. This young man tried his very hardest to throw the class away but his many good points outweighed his reluctance to stand still and show them off! Great for size and shape, dainty and compact with ample arched neck, firm topline and well balanced length of body. Loved his cheeky face with nice dome, short pointed muzzle, large eyes and flaring ears. Moved with purpose, accurate in all directions and holding his outline firm. Not quite 2 yrs old and still has some maturing to do in body (and mind!)

2nd: 3441 PART, Mrs B C Fairywings Toyboy. Was a close decision between these 2, this boy certainly wasn’t lacking in the showing department and was handled to get the very best out of him. Another compact and well balanced outline, dainty but with good substance, level topline and well set and carried tail. Appealing head and expression and really impressed on the move, I just couldn’t resist the more spirited attitude of 1.

3rd: 3440 MARTIN, Mrs Emma Monicachi Dream Boy

Class 1847 LD (6,1)

1st: 3419 FAIRBAIRN, Mrs C Tidos Undercover Operative. Absolutely gorgeous young dog who had everything I was looking for, quality from head to toe. Super to go over with nicely arched neck, perfect topline and tail carriage, straight front, deep brisket and good ribbing. Well angulated fore and aft with nicely balanced length of body, correct length of leg and well muscled rear. His head is delightful, good dome, well set and used ears, lean cheeks, beautiful eyes and an irresistible expression. Moved with accuracy out and back, brisk and purposeful with head held proudly, topline firm and tail carried correctly. Great attitude and temperament, alert and confident and always making the most of himself. I had no hesitation in awarding him the CC and BOB, I can’t imagine he will have much trouble gaining his title.

2nd: 3443 ROONEY, Mr S J Yorone Two Can Play That Game. 12month old brother of the junior winner and although was giving away a lot in maturity here, his sound construction and super movement couldn’t be ignored. A little more of him than his brother and a touch longer in body than I’d prefer but has good front and rear angulation, nicely arched neck, firm topline and well set and carried tail. Sweet face and alert expression, as always from this exhibitor, first class temperament and presentation.

3rd: 3426 HALLS, Mrs A Jorazan Quincy Quirky Sox Jw

Class 1848 OD (7,2) Lovely quality class.

1st: 3442 ROONEY, Mr S & GREEN, Mr J & GREEN, Mrs A Ch Anadeia Tokala With Jaschin. Smart little dog who didn’t put a foot wrong to top this class. Small, dainty and compact with perfect topline and tail carriage, well sprung ribs, good front and rear assembly and in superb condition. Correctly shaped head with large round eyes, definite stop, lean cheeks and nicely finished muzzle. Super on the move circling the ring with a purposeful action, good out and back and holding his outline perfectly in profile. Such a happy, eager showman, his tail never stopped and he was so alert and attentive to his handler. He was close up in the challenge but I just slightly preferred the head and expression of the limit dog. RCC.

2nd: 3427 HOLMES, Ms C M & ENTWISTLE, Miss Dorothy Ch Cazants The Gaffer Luvs Dorenty Jw. Pushed 1 all the way, a dog I have often admired ringside and was not disappointed on closer inspection. Lovely size and shape, dainty and compact but with good substance and lovely balance to his outline. Lovely head, such a cheeky expression with well used flaring ears and large dark eyes. Smart on the move, certainly full of spirit, moving round the ring like he owned it! Felt 1 was better in front but it was a close decision.

3rd: 3430 HUNT, Mrs S Ch Diamonchi Button Moon For Moltobello

Class 1852 MPB (5,1)

1st: 3433 HUNTLEY, Mrs E Jahneemahs Just The Ticket. Top quality baby who is surely a future champion. Beautiful head and expression with good dome, well set and used ears, large round eyes and well finished muzzle. Correct angulation fore and aft, good depth of chest and ribbing for age, level topline and well set and carried tail. Moved with a typical action, accurate in all directions and holding her outline well in profile. A very exciting puppy, I will watch how she develops with interest. BP.

2nd: 3415 BLACK, Miss Leanne Roovena Pumpkin Patch. Another nice baby with impressive profile movement. Soundly constructed with lovely neck, deep brisket and well sprung ribs, good rear angulation and enough width behind. Sweet, feminine head with nice eyes, correctly set ears and good dome. Couldn’t match the movement out and back of 1.

3rd: 3410 ALEXANDER, Mrs N Alderxena Interstellar

Class 1853 PB (3,1)

1st: 3404 PRADELA, Miss Monika Legado De Lagos Yoshimi Okeanid. Nice size with decent angulation and displaying the better profile movement here. Holds a good topline standing and on the move but lacking the confidence to make more of herself. Pleasing head with nice eyes.

2nd: 3434 HUNTLEY, Mrs E Jahneemahs Quantum Design. Better for type but just wouldn’t cooperate on the move and threw away any chance she had! Hopefully with a bit more training she will get the hang of things!

Class 1854 JB (4,1)

1st: 3422 FOTHERGILL, Mrs D Diamonchi Miss Beautiful, She really is aptly named! Ultra feminine with such pretty face, beautiful eyes, large flaring ears, good dome and correctly finished muzzle. Compact, dainty and well balanced with good spring of rib firm topline, good front and rear angulation and hocks well let down. Accurate out and back and looking a picture in profile. Was close up in the challenge, obviously champion quality.

2nd: 3437 KELLY, Ms Francine Frapachi Waltzing Matilda. Not as settled as 1 but did enough to win her place. Pleasing head and expression with large round eyes and well used ears. Nicely balanced length of body with good topline and tail carriage. Moved well in profile.

3rd: 3407 PRADELA, Miss Monika Tiny Cherry De Sandra Best Okeanid

Class 1855 PGB (3,1)

1st: 3417 ENTWISTLE, Miss D Cazants The Geisha Luvs Dorenty. Active little girl who was really on her toes. Smart shape of typical balance with nice neck and shoulders, firm level topline, good depth of chest and spring or rib, well angulated rear and tail set and carried perfectly. Nicely domed head with nice eyes and expression, short muzzle, definite stop and well set and used ears. Moving with good reach and drive, carrying herself proudly. Lovely type.

2nd: 3410 ALEXANDER, Mrs N Alderxena Interstellar. 3rd in mp so obviously lacking maturity here but made a good account of herself moving smartly holding a firm topline and carrying her tail correctly. Sweet face with appealing expression. Presented in lovely condition.

Class 1856 LB (3,1)

1st: 3452 SUTTON, Mrs B The Black Dream De L'isle Au Vert Coteau Nikitos. Well constructed 2 year old of appealing type. Small and dainty but with good substance, well sprung ribs, firm topline, straight front, parallel rear and well set and carried tail. Very smart on the move. Lovely head qualities and good mouth but could have used her ears more to enhance her expression.

2nd: 3409 ALEXANDER, Mrs N Moltobello Once In A Blu Moon At Alderxena. Soundly constructed with good substance for size. Pleasing head shape with good mouth, flaring ears, large round eyes and short, pointed muzzle. Sound enough on the move but could hold herself better in profile.

Class 1857 OB (6) Best class of the day.

1st: 3451 SUTTON, Mrs B Nikitos Nowwillieseeme JW. There was already plenty of choice for top honours and then this class walked in and gave me even more beautiful girls to choose from! After some deliberation it was this exquisite 2yr old that topped the class. Small and dainty, compact with good substance and lovely balance to her outline. Perfect topline both standing and on the move, well angulated front and rear, good depth of chest, spring of rib and well muscled rear. Fabulous head with good dome, big expressive eyes, well set and used ears, short pointed muzzle, lean cheeks, good mouth and such a saucy expression. Always totally attentive to her handler and making the most of herself. On the move she displayed a typical brisk, purposeful action, super out and back and covered the ground easily in profile while maintaining her smart outline. I thought she was delightful and was pleased to award her the CC (her first after several reserves I was told) and was surprised didn’t already have her title. CC,BOS.

2nd: 3428 HORNBY, Mr & Mrs Shelda & Kevin Ch Bramerita Posh Totty. One I have judged before and rewarded highly, still impressed greatly and was close up to 1. Superb type with fabulous head qualities, well domed skull, big flaring ears, large round eyes and neatly finished muzzle. First class construction and movement to match, just felt 1 was slightly better in front on the day. A very feisty little showgirl who definitely thinks she owns the ring! Every inch the champion but had to give way to the more youthful bitch on this occasion so took home the RCC.

3rd: 3421 FOTHERGILL, Mrs D Diamonchi Miss Sparkel JW

Class 1859 SBB (1)

1st: 3455 TURNBULL, Miss Ashleigh Nicole Sunlea Bouncing Back From Prinleigh. A little apprehensive but was handled sympathetically to get the best out of her. Sweet face with big dark eyes, well set and used ears and good dome. Small and dainty, moving ok but didn’t use her tail. Just needs some more confidence to make more of herself. Best Sp Beginner.
