SKC October show 2024

Bolognese

Judge: Miss L Tarabad (Khatibi)

I was really looking forward to judging the breed for the first time at a Champ show. It was a big undertaking for Skc to run 2 champ shows alongside each other and although I thought it was overall a great success, it was a little disappointing that the Bolognese had to wait until so late in the day for both shows. When I started judging the groups were already in the ring so I was conscious that some of the dogs were needed in the group rings and my judging needed to be completed before the next set of groups! That being said I enjoyed the entry and thank all the exhibitors as they all stayed to show under me after a long day!

Class 1309 PD (1 )

1st: 9933 WHATELEY, Mr Mark & WHATELEY, Mrs Diane Arkadian Alfredo Ferrari. 10month old of nice size and shape, body developing well for age, good topline and sound rear assembly. Well balanced head with dense pigment, defined stop, dark round eyes and high set ears. Moved smartly looking good in profile just needs to firm up in front as he matures. In well presented coat. BPD

Class 1310 PGD (1)

1st: 9923 LOVIE, Mrs Elizabeth Blootoon Guiding Star. Squarish in outline with good shoulders, well sprung ribs, good topline, tail carriage could be better. Correctly shaped head with good pigment throughout, dark eyes, defined stop and well set and carried ears. Moved freely, could be better coming towards but smart action in profile. In good coat presented correctly.

Class 1311 OD (2 )

1st: 9925 MORGAN-STANLEY, Mr K & MORGAN-STANLEY, Mr R. J Little White Wonder Eskimo Of Golbourne (Imp) Small, compact dog presented in glorious condition. Only 16months old but maturing nicely for his age with good depth of brisket and spring of rib, strong loin, firm topline, correct length of leg and moderate rear angulation. Beautiful head and expression, dense pigment throughout, large dark eyes, correct length of muzzle, ears high set and carried correctly and the most appealing expression, I could look at that face all day! Super on the move, totally accurate out and back and holding himself smartly in profile. In full bloom with flocked coat presented in first class order. BD and was still showing his socks off until the bitter end to take BOB.

2nd: 9931 WHATELEY, Mr Mark & WHATELEY, Mrs Diane Lyckalotte Enzo Ferrari At Arkadian. Another nice example of the breed, a touch longer than 1 but still compact and typical in outline. Sound construction allowing him to move well, just a bit wide coming. A lovely face with good pigment, dark round eyes and correctly set and used ears. In good coat.

Class 1313 PB (2,1)

1st: 9926 MORGAN-STANLEY, Mr K & MORGAN-STANLEY, Mr R. J Tumbril Twit Twoo It's Golbourne. 6month old baby with a delightful attitude. Small and compact with ample neck, good shoulders, well set and carried tail and moderately angulated rear. Such a sweet face with superb pigment, large dark eyes, defined stop and well balanced length of muzzle. Smart on the move, accurate out and back and holding herself well in profile. A lovely puppy. BP.

Class 1314 PGB (3 )

1st: 9928 TOWERS, Mrs Jane Enjanicka Evening Emerald. Easy winner here being the best of shape and balance. Compact outline with ample neck, firm topline and well set and carried tail. Good depth of brisket and well balanced length of leg, straight front, good spring of rib and strong loin. Feminine head with beautiful expression, broad flat skull, defined stop and dense pigment. Correct coat which was well presented. Moved with a smart accurate action. RBB

2nd: 9924 LOVIE, Mrs Elizabeth Slovkyn Jessie Of Blootoon. Better than 3 for shape being more compact and typical in balance of outline with good substance for size. Flocked coat but has some shadings. Well shaped head with good pigment, dark eyes and well set and carried ears. Moved soundly.

3rd: 9932 WHATELEY, Mr Mark & WHATELEY, Mrs Diane Lyckalotte Holly At Arkadian

Class 1315 OB (2)

1st: 9927 TOWERS, Mrs Jane Enjanicka Toscana Mio Caro. Very impressive, ultra feminine bitch who was presented in first class order. Heading towards her veteran years but not showing it one bit. Small, compact and perfectly balanced to give a typical outline enhanced by her pure white, flocked coat. Sound construction throughout with good front assembly, well sprung ribs, firm topline, strong loin and well muscled rear with well feathered tail set and carried correctly. Prettiest of heads with dark round eyes, correct length of muzzle, broad flat skull and long, high set ears. Moved well in all directions but seemed to lose interest in the final challenge while the younger dog was still on his toes. An easy choice for BB. BOS.

2nd: 9930 WHATELEY, Mr Mark & WHATELEY, Mrs Diane Belstown Beloved Amee At Arkadian. Squarely built with good substance, decent front angulation, level topline and moderately angulated rear. Appealing expression from her dark eyes with ears set and carried well and good pigment throughout. In plenty of well presented coat, moving soundly and with a lovely temperament.
