Retriever (Curly Coat)

Dogs

Puppy

1: STEPHENS, Mr & Mrs J & M B Brightmeadow Rumour Has It, 8-month black with a delightful head and expression. Well grown for his age and he is put together very well. Strong neck, decent angulation and well ribbed back. Good coat for his age. He was just a tad reticent on the move, but his future is assured, and he will carry a title I have no doubt.

Junior

1: JAMES, Miss T Kahawei Sea The Stars, liver dog of quality. He has a very decent head and expression and decent eye colour. Super coat of close curls. Balanced in angualtion, he is upstanding, fit and keeps an outline in profile.

2: HAYES, Miss V J & MOORE, Mr Alan Roughyeds Regal Weir, black who is a tad open coated at present. He is decent for type and has good ribbing. Just did not give his all on the move today.

Limit

1: VALENTINE, Miss Fiona & VALENTINE, Mrs P Ravenho Tallow Tango At Pattonia, black with a decent coat. Masculine head, could possibly have a little more angulation in front. Decent bone and well ribbed. Just a tad lazy on the move.

Open

1: PARKER-MILES, Mrs Selina Sh Ch Tengore Mr Moonlight, very decent black for type and size, sound on the out and back. He impresses to go over, has very good coat with tight crisp curls. Carries his tail correctly and was in wonderful condition. He is very worthy of his title and impressed me a lot. RCC

2: SOLOMON, Mrs Mary Elizabeth Anne & SOLOMON, Mr Kei Sh Ch Foxriever Mystic Marvel At Elkysar. Stood this upstanding black has the most impressive of outlines. To go over, there is very little to change, and he is in wonderful condition. Sound in profile and good coming towards me, he was slightly erratic going away and just a little proud of his tail, which cost him.

3: BROOKES, Mrs S Infallibles Black Crusader At Kelsmere (imp Nor)

Veteran

1: STEPHENS, Mr & Mrs J & M B Sh Ch Brightmeadow Never Say Die JW Sh.CM. Just into his veteran years, I have judged this dog on numerous occasions, but this was the first time in the breed. It is no secret that I rate him as one of the best Curlys there has been for a while. He has the most beautiful head and expression. His outline is so typical, and he is balanced in angulation. Not giving his age away at all, he is still so sound and impressive on the move. He was in the most amazing condition and his coat is superb. A real credit to the breed and most certainly a dog of a lifetime. CC, BOB, BV and delighted he went Group 4.

 Special Beginners dog/bitch.

1: CLINCH, Miss Victoria Elizabeth Roughyeds Hilda Ogden At Schwarzmoose, liver girl with a pleasing head and expression, good for size and feminine all through. Moved out ok.

2: BUCHANAN, Ms Shirley Curlies On Wings Crossroad Glory, liver who was a little open coated, but she has a sweet expression and is upstanding. Good depth to her chest

Bitches

Puppy

1: STEPHENS, Mr & Mrs J & M B Brightmeadow Come On Eileen, really super 8-month-old black who scores so highly for type, sound as a bell for one so young, she scores in angulation. Another future title holder for this kennel I have no doubt. BP

Junior

1: CLACK, Mr&Mrs Stephen & Elaine & EDDERY, Mr Edward Epsilon Adhara At Molokain, very smart liver bitch who is excellent to go over. She has a delightful head and expression, strong neck into firm topline and well-set tail. She is not the biggest, but everything in the right place and she makes up for it in attitude and style. Handled very well, she impressed greatly on the move. Should title. RCC

2: FINDLOW, Mr A & Mrs J Roughyeds Gold Stick Cellar, liked this bitch for type and she too has the prettiest head. Can be lazy but when she puts her mind to it, really strides out.

3: MERCER, Miss C & THOMAS, Miss LA Kahawei Catch The Stars Over Stormacre

Post Grad

1: CLINCH, Miss Victoria Elizabeth Roughyeds Hilda Ogden At Schwarzmoose

2: BUCHANAN, Ms Shirley Curlies On Wings Crossroad Glory

Limit

1: PARKER-MILES, Mrs Selina & PARKER-MILES, Master He Overbore's Ace Of Hearts (ay1), decent black b for type and shape and she is good to go over with a delightful head and expression. She has super depth and is well ribbed. Would just prefer her cleaner going away. Superb coat and well handled.

2: BAIN, Mr Leslie & BAIN, Mr Mathew Crimblescurl Time To Tango At Wenichones Jw, decent bitch for type and very balanced in outline stacked. Super coat moves well in front, she could also just have a bit more positivity behind.

3: HAYES, Miss V J & CHATTWOOD, Miss Caron & WALTON, Gorchest's Pendlecurl's Rising Star At Pepperiever

Open

1: STEPHENS, Mr & Mrs J & M B Sh Ch Ravenho Up Town Girl For Brightmeadow JW. This is a most beautiful bitch and her outline screams Curly. She has the most delightful head and expression, strong neck into firm topline and correctly set and carried tail. On the move she holds herself well and has an ease of stride. In beautiful coat and condition. CC

2: CLACK, Mr&Mrs Stephen & Elaine Molokain Hocus Pocus, another very decent bitch and similar remarks apply to her. I just preferred the head of 1 and this tipped the balance. Well handled and in super condition. Should title.

3: FINDLOW, Mr A & Mrs J Roughyeds Audrey Roberts

Veteran

1: BUCHANAN, Ms Shirley Fleetpaw First Lady, 8-year liver bitch who is super for condition and really enjoying her day. Sweetest of expressions and coat good for her age.
