Dogs

Puppy

1: THORP, Mrs E Gilcoru Malbec D’brie, 9-month fawn of quality and I have admired him from the ringside. He is very pleasing for type and produces the correct shape stacked. His head is coming along but still has to finish but he has a delightful expression. Deep chested, he just needs to settle in topline. Decent length to tail and his coat is coming along on the right track. He is balanced in angulation. In the class he moved with purpose and carries himself correctly. He just needs to relax on inspection. In the challenge for BP he did not move with the same fluidity, whereas the bitch had an ease of stride. Perhaps the heat had got to him, but sadly he had to pay the price. He is a future title holder I’m more than certain.

2: KASS, Miss K D Fostebrie I Am Mika @ Kimarlaz, another 9-month fawn and he is very much at a teenage stage at the moment. His head properties are very good, and he has a decent front on him. Just needs to fill out in middle piece and settle behind and he’ll be away. Presented very well. Moved on the right track but his youthful exuberance can be challenging for his handler.

Junior

1: FIELDSEND, Mr Mrs Trevor & Angie Honey I'm Home Moravia Companella At Starwell, just 12-month fawn of quality. Upstanding, imposing and balanced in outline, stacked he will always take the eye. He has a very decent head for proportions and an excellent mouth. Decent for front angulation and has depth to chest. Good topline, correct angle to croup and well-set tail of length. Low set double dewclaws. Well angulated behind, I would perhaps not want any more as he just tended to kick out a little too much today. Coat well presented and the texture is coming along. He keeps an outline and with a little more maturity will be a certain title holder. RCC

Limit

1: HUMPHREYS, Mrs Megan & HUMPHREYS, Mr Paul Fostebrie Chevalier Noir Sui Jun Ch, this black dog has to be gone over to be fully appreciated. His outline screams Briard and he is not overdone in anyway. He scores highly in front assembly with an almost perfect angle, just a shame that he insists on slightly turning out one foot, but this can be forgiven. Not overly coated, but well presented and his coat is dry with the required break. Would not want anymore length to him but he is totally balanced in angulation. On the move his balance really shows, he holds his topline and he has superb forward reach, correct carriage and sound in hindquarter. Yes, perhaps a little proud of his tail at times but not offensively so. He is beautifully headed and all male with fantastic bone and a very decent mouth. A worthy winner of the CC today and with luck the other 2 should come.

2: CURREN, Mrs D E Stormymoon Odin ShCEx RL4ex, fully mature black who had more coat than the winner and was also well presented. For me he was just a little square in outline, and I would have preferred more angulation in front as he tended to short step a little in profile. His coat was of excellent texture, and he was in wonderful muscle tone. Preferred his tail carriage to the winner and it was a good length with J. Correctly set double dew claws.

Open

1: SNELLING, Mrs J Beaugency Bearly Bouzy, fully mature fawn in full coat of good texture. There is no denying his sex and he has a very decent head and expression. Would just prefer a little more angulation in front but he is moderate behind without exaggeration. On the move today, I felt he was a tad erratic, especially on the out and back as he tended to rush slightly and so sidewinded a little. I’m sure his title is not far off as he will have better days.

Veteran

1: CLELLAND, Mrs Margaret & CLELLAND, Mr David & CLEL Ch Fostebrie Glencoe, 7-year-old fawn in fine form and has always been a ringside favourite of mine. He is the correct shape and has a lot of type. Decent head proportions and still has a very acceptable mouth. Coat of excellent texture and he is balanced in angulation. On the move he puts all in the right place but very much at his own pace. BV

Bitches

Puppy

1: FOSTER, Mrs C Fostebrie Hope's Sensation, 9-month fawn of potential and beautifully presented and handled. Her head and expression are a delight, and she has a wonderful front with complete balance behind. Young still and just needs to come up on leg slightly. Her coat for her age is good with a dry feel, her colour will clear with age. However, it is on the move that she scores, being very fluid in profile with an ease of stride and correct carriage. BP

Junior

1: WILSON, Miss Debra Jandade Precious Secret, I liked this black bitch enormously and she is of real quality and the type I prefer. Her expression is a delight, she just needs to finish slightly in head, but this will come. Her front is textbook, and she has wonderful bone and substance yet retains a look of femininity. She is the correct shape, strong firm topline and the correct angle to croup. Well set tail of length and with a J. Not in full coat, but it is of the correct texture and beautifully prepared. On the move she could go all day, with the correct carriage and an ease of stride. Champion quality without doubt. RCC

2: VERBAKEL, Dr R & WESTCOTT-SMITH, Mrs T Sunrise Madison Dilorini, there really is lots to like about this young fawn girl and she is typical in outline. She is another that needs to come up on leg a tad, but she is very good to go over. Strong in topline and coat coming along. I truly hope that she gets her head around the job in hand to show herself to full potential.

Post Grad

1: FOREMAN, Miss M Stormfield Aysa At Marazzo, mature fawn girl who won the class on her movement. She is up to size yet retains a feminine outlook. She is good for length, well bodied and balanced in angulation. The prettiest of expressions on a well-proportioned head. Coat of super texture and a super colour.

2; HARRIS, Mrs J J Stormfield Noushka. I really liked this bitch to go over, and she is very much the type I prefer. She is totally feminine yet retains substance. Beautifully presented coat of the correct texture. She just needs to gain a little in confidence and she’ll be away as she just tended to hold back a little on the move.

3: FLETCHER, Mrs K & FLETCHER, Mr David & RUAL-KEOGH, Gilcoru Lavin D'brie With Arrowflec

Limit

1: WILSON, Miss Debra Jandade Precious Secret

2: WESCOTT-SMITH, Mrs T & SMITH, Mr S Vivienne De L'arene Noire At Rozimba (Imp Bel) Bel, black girl who presents a pleasing outline in profile. Just preferred the forehand of the winner. She keeps her outline in profile and uses herself well. Presented well and coat of decent texture. Has a typical shape and a very pleasing head and expression. Just needs to drop in chest a little which would give her a little more width in front. But a decent one indeed.

3: WILSON, Mrs J Jandade Precious Blossom JW

Open

An excellent class of 5 quality Briard females.

1: SNELLING, Mrs J Ch Beaugency Bellini. Today was her day, this fawn bitch impressed me greatly. Now fully mature, she screams type on the stack. Her head and expression are a delight, she has a wonderful forehand, strong topline, correctly angled croup and well-set tail carried correctly. Balanced behind without any exaggeration. Her coat is dry, with the desired break and well presented. On the move she has the correct carriage and reach and drive. Will always take the eye in profile, and she was precise on the out and back. Totally feminine and sound, yet has the required substance needed. Handled extremely well and she could keep going all day. CC & BOB

2: WEBB, Mrs A Ch Barronoaks Etta Bagel ShCEx, black bitch who I have always admired. Another with a delightful head and expression. In full coat of good texture and well presented. Not quite the front angulation of the winner and in turn, not quite the forward reach to match. However, she is an excellent example of the breed, and she carries herself correctly.

3: FOSTER, Mrs C Ch & NL Ch Lux Ch Int Ch Sui Ch Fostebrie Precious Hope
