Midland Collie Championship Show 10.2.2024

Thank you to the Midland Collie Club for the kind invitation to judge Rough Collie bitches at your Centenary Championship Show, to the exhibitors for the wonderful entry and great sportsmanship and to Jan my fantastic steward. l had some beautiful bitches entered today so in some classes l was splitting hairs between them.

Baby Puppy D/B (4,1) Three lovely babies. 1st Tippers Tiganlea Gullivers Travels. What a super baby to start the day with. S/W puppy dog just 5 months old and enjoying his day out. He won the class with his lovely outline and good reach of neck. He has a sweet but masculine expression. Lovely bone and nice length to his tail . Moved confidently for a baby at his first show.

2nd Growcotts Chantique Sent From Heaven For Lillyway. This pretty s/w baby has a lovely feminine expression. Beautiful almond shaped eye and ears were nicely tipped when she used them. She has a good length to her body and already has a nice coat coming through. She was full of lovely puppy charm.

3rd Van De Ven`s Winner Of Dreams Angel Silvestre

Bitches.

Veteran (11,8) 1st Beares Jemspark Maid in Secret. This veteran lady was super fit and strode out so well across the ring, she is beautifully balanced in body and has a kind and sweet expression. Her ears were correctly placed and very alert. She had a well presented golden coat that fitted her outline. BVB & RBVIS

2nd Brookers Telforth Sweet dreams at Corisian JW. Wonderful 10 year old with very sweet almond shaped eye giving her a stunning expression. Today she did not move quite so well at the rear as l have seen her which could have been down to the floor surface. She is still so full of enthusiasm in the show ring. A credit to her owner who always presents and shows her so well. RBVB

3rd Whitaker`s Aniesh Misty Blue Of Siluto

MPB (4) 1st Mitchell & Jordans Avonfair A Million Dreams. A delightful puppy with a very appealing expression. She has a lovely dark almond shaped eye and nicely tipped ears which were used well. Just the right amount of bone and substance for her age. Excellent rear angulation and well let down hocks which enabled her to move with drive. Immaculately presented. MPB & BMPIS

2nd Mills Hanvale Edina Monsoon. Appealing s/w of 7 months, she has a nice medium sized dark eye and good stop, ears slightly heavy at the moment but should improve as she matures. Good neck and rise over loins. Correct length to height ratio. Well presented and moved soundly.

3rd Turners Paulara Born To Be My Baby

Puppy (3) 1st Congdon Aaronwell Able Mabel. Lovely sable with an outgoing personalty. She has the correct sweet dark obliquely set eye, her ears were perfectly placed, tipped and used which gave her a beautiful alert expression, I loved the white smudge on her nose which enhanced her expression even more. Ample neck and correct lay back of shoulder. Good length of back and bend of stifle. Moved soundly. BPB and in agreement with my co judge BPIS

2nd Tippers Tiganlea Truly Blissful. Richly coloured S/W of 11 months, such a happy puppy which was lovely to see. She has a good overall conformation, lovely reach of arched neck and good angulations. Balanced head with correct stop giving a lovely expression. Moved out well with a good length to her stride.

3rd Bartrams Ambartr May Queen 

Junior (11, 3) Cronks Skabona If I Saw You In Heaven For Chelborn (Imp Swe). B/M who has a beautiful clean head of good length, almond shaped eye, flat skull and neat well used ears. She has a strong arched neck and good overall balance in body. Excellent length of leg and depth to chest. She has ideal markings on her B/M coat. Moved soundly from all angles. Shame she was slightly unsettled in the challenge l would love to see her outside where l am sure she would shine.

2nd Van De Ven`s Valentine Gucci Angel. Shapely Shaded S/W with very sweet dark eye giving a beautiful expression. Nice neck and length to her back. Good shoulder placement and bend of stifle. Neat hocks. Moved and showed well, but tail carried slightly high.

3rd Lockyer`s Gataj All That Sparkles 

SYB (12, 1) Shipps Tremaro Kind Of Magic. Very appealing S/W who has a feminine head with the sweetest expression, ears nicely tipped, strong neck of medium length, well ribbed body, depth of ribcage and good croup. Excellent angulations and good bone. Moved steadily with excellent tail carriage.

2nd Tames Gataj Time After Time At Rahlissa. This beautiful sable was out of coat today but what she had was well groomed and showed off her lovely shape. She has a balanced head with sweet almond shaped eye, good stop, flat skull and ears very alert. Correct length to her back and strong loin. Moved soundly.

Maiden (3) 1st Congdons Aaronwell Able Mabel

2nd Hodges Unusual Beauty Des Conquetes De Don Juan At Jopium. Lovely b/m baby but a little unsettled in the ring today. She has such an appealing expression when she used her ears for just a moment. Excellent body lines, well rounded bone and good substance for her age. Neat feet which were beautifully trimmed. Once settled l am sure she will do very well.

Graduate (5) 1st Jackson`s Samhaven Saving Grace To Sassari. Well made shapely tricolour. Super outline with deep chest and good spring of rib, nice length to back and rise over loins. Long well set tail. Moved freely with good hind action. To compete the picture she has lovely rich tan markings and a gleaming jet black fitted coat which was nicely presented.

2nd Mitchell & Jordan Avonfair A Million Lovesong such a pretty bitch with a soft and appealing expression, she was full of glamour and presented to the minute. She has a good reach of arched neck and well angulated hindquarters. Neat feet and strong well let down hocks. Moved with drive and showed well.

3rd Margetts Collingvale Campari 

Post Graduate (8) 1st Blackburn & Jones Erjon Evolving Beauty. S/W with nicely balanced head, good fill to skull and muzzle, Ears alert and well used. Nice neck with good length to back and turn of stifle. In full well groomed coat. Moved very soundly with her well set tail carried correctly.

Mid Limit (8,1) Newman`s Ingledene Crystal Vision Of Phreelancer. Stunning b/m of exceptional colour. Refined head of good length, clean cheeks, just the right amount of correct stop. Beautiful long arched neck leading to good lay back of shoulders and firm top line. Strong in loin and well angulated rear. I found her so well balanced throughout. She moved soundly across the ring with good reach and drive. Just the right amount of beautifully presented fitted coat. Stood with dignity and elegance, l couldn't resist her. As she gains in more ring confidence she will be a force to be reckoned with. Handled so calmly to get the best out of this beautiful girl. Pleased to award her the RCC and in agreement with my co judge RBIS

2nd Edwards & Bluck Paulara Lucy In The Sky For Elshajo. This lovely Tri has really come into her own and looked the full package today. She has a bright and mischievous expression, ears correctly set and used constantly. Well ribbed body and good angulations front and rear. She was immaculately presented with not a hair out of place. Very well muscled which showed in her good movement.

3rd Margetts Collingvale Cava

Limit (10) 1st Whites Mejola Main Event JW. Shaded sable who didn't put a foot wrong in the class, she was standing correctly at all times showing off her elegant outline. She has a good reach of arched neck which leads to a firm top line and rise over loins. Forelegs straight and well muscled. Balanced head with slight stop and ears used constantly. Carried her tail slightly high in the challenge but she is a lovely bitch who will continue to do well. She was shown in first class condition. Moved out well with a powerful stride.

2nd Mc Cartes Roughrigg Remember Me. Really liked this quality s/w bitch and was spitting hairs with 1. She has a correct well blunted wedge shaped head, good under jaw and neat ears that were well used. Strong neck, good upper arm and neat feet. Attentive showgirl who gave her all to her handler. Moved well.

3rd Edwards Salsina Sharing Secrets

Open (9,2) 1st Llewellyn`s Artzaiak Strawberry Rose For Salsina (Imp Esp) Glamorous s/w with full white collar to enhance her many qualities. She has a beautiful expression with soft rounded muzzle, dark almond eye and correctly placed stop. Ears tipped nicely and well used. She has ample neck which leads into a lovely length of back. Super front and rear angulations and correct depth to chest and spring of ribs. She stands on good legs with correct rounded bone and neat feet. She has a lovely bend of stifle and well let down hocks with no sign of weakness. Viewing her in profile she presents a well balanced outline. Shown in beautiful condition, her coat fitted her well and was superbly presented. Moved very soundly across the ring with plenty of drive. I thought she was quite special. Delighted to award her the CC and with agreement from my co judge BIS

2nd Hawkins Ch Brilyn Molly Coddles JW Mature S/W with a lovely dark eye, smooth fore face and flat skull, ears were well used and correctly placed, all giving a her beautiful expression. Long arched neck and nice length to back, she held a firm top line on the move. She was in full double coat and showed well. Shame she went slightly lame in the challenge.

3rd Randall`s Ladnar Inkspot Such a beautiful tri who l believe is now a Ch and richly deserved. She has the sweetest and most feminine of expressions. Nicely made with ideal angulations. She is so sound and light on her feet she floated across the ring so effortlessly, such a shame she was a little unsettled when showing today.
